Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

anyone wanta take a guess on how they will combine the numbers for the 10K, seeming as there are only 5 corals, and the numbers go from 30000=37000 I'm guessing, and the challenge numbers are split between A-L, hope this makes sense, just trying to play the guessing came for the 10K

I would suggest a rough correlation.
10K A ~ Half A-C
10K B ~ Half D-F
10K C ~ Half F-H
10K D ~ Half H-J
10K E ~ Half J-L

Hi guys I'm probably being a bit silly, but I haven't received any information, either in my email or junk about the race.

I'm running the Half, although I'm not sure who I need to contact to get the information, I've been on my Active account and run Disney but it's not clear and I want to make sure I'm all okay for the run and what corral I'm in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

The only email I have gotten was from Disney gift card services. I haven't received any from RunDisney about wine & dine. You just go to rundisney.com, wine & dine, runner info to get your waiver/etc. An email from them isn't necessary. The week of the 24th though you should be getting one from Disney Gift card services with the electronic gift card. So be on the lookout for that one.

Because I have too much extra time this morning .....

Excel is great. Although the counts should be inclusive of the origin number, its close enough.

Go to the runDisney Food & Wine website and click on "Runner's Info" tab and then scroll down to "Waivers" and click the link. Enter in your name and date of birth and click to print your waiver (even if you are not ready to print it yet). Down near the bottom is your bib number, near the place you sign away liabilities.

If you run into an issue and your name doesn't come up when you try to access your waiver, contact runDisney. One year my birthday was entered incorrectly. Everything was worked out fine once I contacted runDisney.

I'm looking at the weather forecast for this weekend in central Florida, and as of right now, it has a temperature of 59 degrees and a dew point of 53 degrees between 5-7 am on Sunday. Can we have that forecast in 2 weeks please?!?

Do 10k bib numbers have any significance? If my bib is 31000 does that mean I'm towards the front compared to bib number 36000?
Thanks

Logic would say yes. That would in theory put you in a more forward corral.
But it doesn't matter within a corral, right? Not like Southwest or anything? So if DH is near the end of the numbers for the Challenge in our Corral and I'm one of the lower numbers for the half for the same Corral, we just stand wherever we want in the corral and can start together? Just making sure!

Inside the corral its like a general admission concert. You go wherever you want. Some people love the front, some the back. I like the side.

Corral C for me!

So based on my quick read-through of the event guide, I should be expecting an email with my gift card (although I didn't get the email last week) and the party ticket in the mail. Seems like this is all more complicated and error-prone than it needs to be given that we all already have to go to the expo and pick several things up. Wouldn't it be easier to just get everything then? :confused3

Yep, I'm not too pleased with this approach. I also never received the e-mail about gift cards, so I have no faith that the e-mail actually containing the gift card will reach me either. And I hate having to stalk the mailbox for things--my mail delivery is notoriously unreliable, especially for anything that comes in an envelope. And it's yet another thing I have to remember to pack. Plus, we plan on entering Epcot earlier on Sunday using a ticket, so we will have to then go to one of 3 locations at 8 pm in order to pick up party wristbands. Why not just hand out the wristbands at the expo like last year?

Ok, so I'm running the 10K only, my bib is 330xx. I plugged in some random numbers and I see nothing above the 33,000s for 10K!? Could that be right?

Will all of the "Tier 1" attractions in Epcot be open during the post-race party? What would you expect for wait times? Thanks!

Wait... what? What if you submit 2:45? So right at the cutoff, but without PoT bc it's NOT required. Last corral??

I now have a PoT under this but didn't at the time (old one was over 2yrs old).

Just trying to get a sense of what to expect.
No no - only estimated finishes under 2:45 required poT - so 2:44 or less (ore really 2:40 or less because that was the next option after 2:45 in the drop-down box.) If you entered 2:40, for example, and didn't enter PoT, you could wind up in the last corral. But 2:45-3:30 should all be placed based on the estimated finish time, no PoT necessary. It looks like enough folks entered 2:45 that they had to bump some to the next corral, though, so the 2:45s should be in H and I.

I've seen comments before about the recycling plant (perhaps from one of your Marathon reports!). I understand it smells, but how long does it typically last for? I hope it's not noticeable from really far away in either direction.
I heard all about this before running the full this year... I smelled nothing out of the ordinary. But maybe the "ordinary" is pretty stinky here in FL and I'm used to it, lol!

ACK!!! Nope, too cold. :)

Most likely, yes. Wait times could get high - just depends on how many people actually show up. There were pretty decent waits (30 mins or more) at some of the TOT 10-Miler after-parties, but we walked right on Soarin' at the party after Splash & Dash 2014 because so many didn't go to the party in the rain.

So last year for W&D I had a POT of 1:26 and was in H. For Glass Slipper I used the same POT I was in I. For this race I have a POT of 1:21. I am in H again. BFF has a POT of 1:22 and was in I with me for Glass Slipper and was placed in K for Lumiere. (She was in D for Tink with the same POT) She spoke to rD today and they said she's in the right corral. Even with her POT and what it placed her in for past races. I'm starting to think it's just luck of the draw of who places you or they drew straws or something. Because there's no way one minute equals three corrals difference!

I didn't see anything about same day pick up for the 10k .. my sister just got a new job and won't be in until 8ish Friday Night

Oh my gosh, I totally forgot it's daylight saving race day! Does this mean an extra hour of sleep?!! Yay! I'm so not a morning person! That's why I was psyched for W&D because it was a night race previously, right?!

I agree with @PrincessV. The headliners should all be open and most of the secondary attractions. (Sorry if you are a fan of Ellen or Innoventions). The films in World Showcase should be open for normal operating hours and maybe even during the party. The 2014 Splash & Dash was the only year I haven't rode Soarin' after the race. The lines have beem quite manageable, as not all the runners want to stay around or even do the attractions (the food and wine kiosks tend to have lines as well). This year with the new format, its anybody's guess. I originally planned on returning home Sunday evening and skipping the party, but my boss told me to take the extra day off and enjoy it since we had a good (although stressful and busy) summer season. It will be my only park time for 2016, so I'm going to enjoy as much of it as possible. Just need to decide if it will be better spent waiting in line for attractions or for food or for characters.....

I must be reading this wrong, but a submitted time of 1:26 should put you in corral A for almost any (if not all) runDisney races.
Each race brings a new field of participants. While there is some regularity to the placement, statistically speaking, that can heavily be skewed with a drastic change in the entry field. Being an inaugural event, which brings out a lot of 'one and done' runners who may have a significantly faster pace than the standard participant, would certainly change the demographics of the corrals.
