How is everyone planning on beating the heat? I'm looking at what misting fans, misting water bottles, and cooling cloths to buy.
I try not to worry. This is our 12th September trip. We've only hit one hurricane and one depression. Neither ruined the trip.ditto! Read this is supposed to be an unusually active year.

I'm glad! Thank you! We went 2 years ago to the night of joy concert and sat through the worst storm I had ever seen. But that was about it other than the usual Florida storm.I try not to worry. Water and conditioning myself to it at home this summer. Any more, Indiana is just as humid as Florida. How is everyone planning on beating the heat? I'm looking at what misting fans, misting water bottles, and cooling cloths to buy.
I remember 2014 in particular being very rainy. But even the hurricane Charlie that Orlando and Disney took a direct hit in 2004, didn't ruin the trip. We went to the park in the morning, buckled down, and even though it looked like Armageddon as it went over, the parks were open the next morning (all but AK). It was amazing actually. Ever since then, I don't sweat trips being ruined by weather. Mainly because we drive and don't have to worry about flight cancellations. Actually we left home a day early last year to avoid driving through the storm that hit the panhandle last year right before Labor Day weekend. Made the parks a lot less busy.I'm glad! Thank you! I've heard sometimes it's a good time to take advantage of lower crowds. We drive as well, so we can bring our own supplies and wait rain or storms out. Thanks again! Agreed. We live in Central Indiana and have been walking 1 mile every afternoon with our 8 & 6 year old to get their legs "Disney ready" also being out in the heat. They know we are going, but not when (they have a Disney jar for saving) Trip booked for mid September.
Yep. We are leaving Friday after the kids get out of school, driving just north of Atlanta, staying at a hotel, and finishing the drive on Saturday. Plan to reach Disney at 3pm. We will see. Our friends are going with us, and she will be 6 months pregnant at that time, so we know we will have to stop a little more than usual. But we figured 7.5 hours friday night and 7.5 hours on Saturday wasn't too bad! That sounds like a good plan! I hope you have a great trip! Do you drive? We are 45 minutes N. Of Indy so it's a long haul.

I was just wondering where or what you read?
Oh I hope not we are planning on flying this year from Indy. It can delay all they want on the returnI saw it on the evening news that the forecast was for more named storms and those becoming hurricanes. The last time I can remember them saying that it was an unusually slow year.
