Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We are planning on staying CL Level with 3 adults and 2 kids (8 and almost 3), would you do 2 rooms and request adjoining (I know its not guaranteed) or a deluxe room?
I guess it would depend on how the three adults are related. If it was mom, dad and their adult child, then I would suggest that deluxe might work well. If it is an in-law, grandma or grandpa, or an unrelated adult, I would get two rooms. :)

Hi all! My husband and I typically stay at the wilderness Lodge and we are actually currently booked there but are not too happy about paying rack rate ... everything is totally booked so we don't anticipate a discount and are considering switching to the GF once the discounts come out for December ... we never considered the yacht club or the beach club at all until I saw someone streaming it and it looks beautiful ...

My question is, I started going through the dining options and I noticed that the quick service restaurants seem to have really limited options ... what do most people do? Do the majority of you walk to Epcot Or the tableservice restaurants at the hotel ...(I know obviously when you are at the parks we all eat there :)

A quick thank you to everyone for your compassion and offers of sympathy. Rebecca's loss for me and also others involved in this thread is great. I appreciate everyone's kindness to her family, to me and to everyone else who has had the pleasure of knowing Rebecca through her helpful posts or from meetings during a trip.

:grouphug:

I am very behind here on replying to posts here. Lots of reasons for that. I hope to start catching up in the next few days to make sure everyone is properly welcomed and that anyone with questions gets replies to the best of our ability here!

::yes::
I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers for Rebecca's family and friends.

Yes, we will be on that sailing!! Super excited!!! We are staying one more night at WL after the cruise is over.

We are super excited too! We usually stay one night at BC because we drive down but this time we're trying YC just on that Friday. SAB is the Best way to start a vacation! We have two girls, 10 and 8 so maybe we will meet :)

The YC/BC are my favorite resorts at WDW. I love being able to walk to 2 of the parks. I don't find the food options that limiting. BC has the quick serve and YC just got their own quick serve too. Hurricane Hannah's is the pool bar/restaurant and is where we have lunch if we are at the pool. There is also crews cup lounge at the YC...they have good food and they also have a kids menu...lots of people take kids there. Then there is beaches & cream but u need an ADR for them. Hope this helps!

Yes, thank you!
I stayed at the Yacht Club pre-refurbishment and I found the QS food options very limited. Beach Club Marketplace had more sandwiches and salads than actual warm food. The hike to the Beach Club Marketplace from the Yacht Club was also not what I was accustomed to at the MK deluxe resorts. Gasparilla (GF) and Captain Cook (Poly) are also 24/7 and Contempo Cafe (CR) has 24/7 Rapid Refill access. The seating was also very limited.

I think the addition at the YC will really help with Rapid Refill beverages, but the food seems to be mainly grab and go like GF had when Gasparilla was closed and was temporarily setup in Mizners. Definitely a good addition, but not a "full" QS.

Yes, thank you!

We've stayed at BC a few times now and use the Pool Bar for a QS 'Meal'.

The walk to Boardwalk is not too far ~10 Mins for a slow walker. You've then got all of the options over there too. As well as Swan and Dolphin, and of of Course EPCOT!.

Having stayed at the Poly, and visited CR, I have to say I was not blown away by their QS either, slow service (Poly), or loud and stupidly busy (CR).

Horses for courses as they say!

We've stayed at both BCV and the Yacht club a few times now and never really struggled to find something at the right time/speed. Agree with other posters that Hurricane Hannah's is useful when you're at the pool, especially as you can order from the servers straight to your lounger/have it waiting for you when you get to HH. Depending on where you stay/room location then yes some areas of Epcot are also super handy. With BCV secret entrance you are minutes from France and the UK for their QS options. We've walked to the Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast too and found the BC Marketplace was fine. Prices at Crew's Cup aren't too far above QS and (in our experience) is a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We always do Garden Grocer too so have healthy snacks/breakfasts in the room. Will be checking out the grab n go offerings at YC in Sep/Oct too but we would probably rather plan to be in Epcot (Food and Wine Festival/WS QS) or at the pool anyway!

Hi all,

Please help the uneducated. Planning our first trip to WDW (from Australia!) and feeling slightly overwhelmed!

Love the look of the Beach Club Resort, but had thought it better to stay somewhere a bit more accessible to the Magic Kingdom which I imagine is the park we'll be spending the most time in. How much of a pain is it to get to MK from this resort? Would it be buses? We MAY have a hire car but I have no concept of whether parking at MK is any better than the buses.

Any help appreciated!

:welcome:

Please let us know what you decide about your trip.

I love the suggestion for a split stay- best of all worlds!

There are several ways to get to and/from the Beach Club and Magic Kingdom. My family and friend's typical route is to take the bus to the MK in the morning- 15-20 min ride plus any wait time and then to return to the resort via Monorail to EPCOT, mostly because we enjoy the ride (the Monorail is TOO a ride) and enjoying a few attractions or food options along the way.

:woohoo:

Can you add me to the Be Our Guest list?
Booked for May 9-17, 2018
Thanks!!

:welcome:

Will do!

Let us know if you decide to book here!

I think there are plenty of food options, depending on what your plans and food preferences are.

There are a few breakfast options open at and near the resort- BC Marketplace (now serving Mickey waffles!), YC Ale & Compass Marketplace and the Boardwalk Bakery and options at the Swalfin a short walk away.

I love the international options, counter service and table service, available a few steps away at EPCOT. The bakery in France is open for breakfast when EPCOT opens in the morning.

Lunch options at the BC and YC Marketplaces are mostly sandwiches, flatbreads and salads.

Hurricane Hannas at the pool has sandwiches, salads, burgers and chicken nuggets. The kids meals are served with a sandpail and shovels for the kids to use at Stormalong Bay.

Sit down, but casual meals can/will be found at the Captain's Grille restaurant at the YC and the lounges- Crews Cup and the lounge at Ale & Compass.

And of course, as you mention, we have a majority of our meals at favorite dining spots at the theme park.

:goodvibes

Please add us to your Be Our Guest list!! We are booked at YC for Sep. 20-23, 2017 for our pre-cruise stay!!

Will do!

Love that Roger!!

I know you do, and this is the photo I got the morning you suggested that I give Roger a hug.

I have some food allergies and can't eat regular cold cuts which is why some of the grab and go stuff may not work for me unless it was fresh off the bone (carved turkey)... but as you said there are lots of other options. It would just be so nice to have that discount with a price range closer to the wilderness Lodge then shooting all the way up to the grand Floridian although we are much looking forward to it ...probably just need other options for an annual trip because that's a lot of money

Hello! We will be at the YC for the first time, arriving 15th August 2018 for 15 nights.

It's also our first time staying Deluxe. We've booked a garden/woods view room and the special requests we made at booking were high floor and full balcony. Excited but nervous. We also haven't told the kids yet. We will have to tell them before the time as they are both on the spectrum and don't like surprises. But we wanted to get as close to a 'surprise' as we can so we're planning on telling them just a few weeks before if we can last that long.

They loved the Royal Rooms at POR. We were given a lovely corner room with a river view (we'd booked a garden view), near the bridge. It was so perfect in many respects that's why I'm a little nervous. The room was pretty quiet, no noisy neighbours and a good room location to relax when they needed a bit of sensory downtime.

They will love walking to 2 parks instead of taking the bus everywhere and SAB. If anyone has any suggestions or advice for making sure we make the most of the resort I'm grateful for any tips.

Have you considered a split stay? Get the best of both worlds! A BC/YC and MK resort split is always nice IMO :)
