I love credit cards so much!

So, I have the CSP and CSR. I use the CSR more due to the benefits. So, I am thinking that I should just go ahead and call to do a product change from the CSP to a Freedom or Freedom Unlimited. I understand that the cc number does not change so you don’t have to do anything if there are recurring charges on it.

I am just dragging my feet in making the call as I keep on thinking that once I let go of the CSP, I won’t be able to get another CSP unless I cancel the CSR, right? Though I really am not using the CSP that much. I have one recurring charge on it.

Maybe, I just need somebody to tell me that this is a reasonable decision. Or just need somebody to push me in that direction or just hold my hand, lol.

Would appreciate any advice :)

Thank you!

I will be doing exactly that soon. I see no reason to keep both CSR and CSP and I like CSR much better. Last I remember you can't go from CSP to Freedom/Unlimited until after your first year, I believe you have to go to a Sapphire first, then Freedom if it hasn't been a year yet.

No, but oddly enough I’ve been researching options for a long weekend in Cleveland and I’m just about to book my SW flights. We’re heading there to check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Thanks!
We did a weekend there last year in June. It was enjoyable!

the guess is spg personal. Although the rumor of a high end Starriott card will show up with Amex with a $450 fee similar to the Hilton Card.
Chase will hold 2 of the lower end ones.

:hourglass :rolleyes1 *actual footage of me waiting on Amex*

Some interesting negative data points on Amex RATs:

Not only will BMO funding not count towards MSR, you won't even earn Starpoints on it.

Don't buy VGCs from OD/OM (and Staples too) with an Amex if you don't want the RATs to see what you're buying. So far it looks like you'll still get points for the purchase, but that could change (see above example).

I've been scouring to no avail for a DP on funding BMO with a Wells Fargo Amex, since it isn't a true Amex.

DH and I each held both the CSP and CSR. I PCd my CSP to a CFU and DH PCd his CSP to a second Freedom card. My mom held on to both as well thinking she'd keep the CSP in the end and PC the CSR. She wound up doing the opposite and PCd her CSP to a CFU.

Don't worry, we got you ...

WOW! I'm jealous. We are only allowed 10 total. You start getting nasty grams at 4 days. At 11 you go to truancy court. And all absences are created equal. Doesn't matter sick, vacation, death, etc...
[/QUOTE]

Last year it said 20 and I was sweating it since we did 13 days at Disney(7 school days) and 6 days in Myrtle beach and then had some other days for sickness and weekend trips. We get off mid June till first week of August so it’s less than 2 months. Def not enough time for me since we like to travel

Do you have any other suggestions of things to do? We’re going to spend one day taking a little road trip a couple of hours north to go to the Warther Museum. But we’ll have a little time left to do something else in Cleveland.
Yeah - we are boring. Drove in on Saturday morning, hit up the RnR Hall, fancyish dinner, slept in on Sunday and drove back haha.

The one reason I want to go to Cleveland is to see the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Not sure what else there is besides going to an Indians game. I think Cedar Point isn't that far from Cleveland either.

Cedar Point is about 1 hour away. Pro Football Hall of Fame also 1 hour away (in a different direction)

Sandusky, home to Cedar Point or Cuyahoga National Park has waterfalls.

Whew! Finally posting here after some time. This thread seriously moves so fast - I barely have time to read it, much less reply! I don't know how you all do it!

As of this morning, I was at 3/24, 0/12 (unless Chase business cards count?) and finally past the 24 month bonus threshold for both personal SW cards. I applied for and was instantly approved for both the SW Plus and Premier! Thanks @Lain for your step-by-step on the two-in-one-day Chase application process: I love credit cards so much! . It was nice to have that to keep my head on track.

I'd like to have one of the cards expedited, but I also am not looking to draw attention to the fact that I just applied for both. Do I have any reason to be concerned? If not, what number do I call?

On a separate note, as some of you know (@wendow), I have a brother who has special needs (Down syndrome and autism). Even more than Disney, he adores the Wiggles. They announced last week that they were touring America, but only CA and a couple cities in New England. We're in the midwest, but we decided we'd try to get tickets to see them anyway. We ended up getting front-row tickets to their San Diego show (!!!!), so I'm now planning a trip to San Diego (+ possibly a few days in Anaheim?) for early June. My parents are both somewhat open to getting cards - they can meet minimum spend easily, and they have high credit scores. They're averse to opening new cards, however, unless they can see a tangible way that the points will immediately benefit them. I've begun thinking that if they both were to open CIPs, we could use those UR points to purchase Disneyland tickets (through my CSR). Based on what I've read here, the UR Cruise/Tour department should be able to book just Disneyland tickets (without a hotel reservation), correct?

Off to DisChurners I go to try to post my support links for the first time!

there is no restrictions on applying for 2 SW card... now if you said CSP/CSR, then thats a different storry.

DH would love to do Cedar Point, the idea of a free meal with the new PP restaurant makes it more appealing to me haha. Hey, maybe I'll take inspiration from a Reddit post... someone flew their family to Vegas for the day to take the kids to the amusement park at circus circus. Ate breakfast and dinner at the centurion lounge. Wheels are turning...

My first thought was this was the answer to my prayers on the Westin thing... but the dates wouldn't work. Curses!

The *only* reason I can think of to keep the CSP is for people using your 'supportive links'. I had two people (not DIS'ers) ask me for mine after I PC'ed my CSP. It was well before my AF would have been due too so I really should have just held it until 1 year. Also now that the CSP has a higher bonus than the CSR, and a much lower AF, people are more drawn to that card...at least those who don't know CC's and the benefits of the CSR. Having said all that, no one may ever use your link and imo, the CSR is a much more desirable card in every way.

I tried to look for a number to get your SW card expedited (Congrats on both!!) but I didn't find one. Wondering if you just call the number as if you were applying by phone 1-800-792-0001
However, I do remember reading that Chase typically does not expedite hotel and airline cards. Can't hurt to ask though.

I do think your parents should each go for CIP's and use YOUR link! It does sound like you should be able to buy the DLR tickets through UR, even without a room reservation. @gottalovepluto was able to do so for WDW. I still need to pick up two more tickets for our DLR trip so I'm hoping the option exists too.

Can't wait to hear how your brother enjoys the Wiggles. I can only imagine his face all lit up

Oh GREAT - the "holier than thou" churners are after me again on r/churning, lol.

I shared that post where I said I put my AMEX Everyday link on Facebook and a couple friends expressed interest (I had said that here a couple days ago). Apparently I'm a bad person for attempting to give my friends unsolicited advice...Oh and apparently I'm supposed to "vet" people before telling them anything about what I do in this hobby...and also a bunch of my friends will apparently be coming back to me in 6 months blaming me for being deep in credit card debt because I posted that...Oh and to top it off, even when friends and family ask for advice, I should probably just refrain.

I just need to shrug it off but geez, apparently I'm a bad person because I might "cause" somebody else to make a poor decision. Personal responsibility people...personal responsibility...I'm not forcing anybody to sign up for that card by simply mentioning it...

i give u a reason where a CSP wins over CSR. AU. If you have a big family, Adding 5 AU for free vs CSR where 1 AU is $75. big family would have that benefit with all the insurance coverage.

This is true!! This is one situation where csp wins over csr. I just use a 'replacement card' on dh's account though and we've been good. I get what you mean though!

I think the "support" link may be the ONLY reason to keep both :) You will bring me around on that one, that there is a viable reason to have both! (of course only if you have anticipated "support" coming)

Yeah, I think there are probably numerous reasons why you'd keep CSP over CSR...just not why you should keep BOTH. Another reason for CSP over CSR is if you transfer all of your URs to a partner Southwest or Hyatt and won't be putting travel/dining spend on the card. :)
