We Wants The Rum or Do We? April Trip Report! Complete! New TR in my signature 8/26**

I'm so behind but I'm all caught up now. I swear I had this big response all written up but then somehow I left my computer and it all got deleted. Waaah...
Hopefully I remember everything I wrote!

Frontera Grill looks great! I am a Rick Bayless fan but I have not tried it yet. Just one more to add to the ever growing list!
The new rooms at POFQ look great! I like how elegant they look. It doesn't have any more of that Mardi Gras feel but I was never really into that anyways.
Voodoo Donuts looks amazing. I don't usually eat many sweets but I will for a good donut. Yum Toothsome sounds amazing, I should have went there in Sept. Andi's outfit at Universal is adorable! I love it!
Like you guys, I love CoP too. I will do that during my solo trip!
Haha that's so funny how Andy is shy about asking to be in the top row at Soarin'. We have no shame. Steve will always ask. Although when I was solo in DLR I didn't ask. Maybe I should have!
OK that kids empanada meal looks really yummy! I have a secret affinity for spaghetti-Os. They are like a strange confort food craving for me. I will have to check this out. This could possibly be one of my solo meals haha!
Like you I liked Coco too, very touching, but then again all Pixar movies are, I think I cry in every one of them.

The kids meal came with a spaghetti type side with Mexican white cheese on it. This was weirdly satisfying. Tasted like spaghettio’s, which I have not had in years. It was a little addicting. I kept going back for one more forkful:hyper:.

That’s fideo. It’s broken up vermicelli noodles served with tomato sauce. First, it’s toasted then simmered in the sauce. It’s normally served like that or, my favorite way when I’m sick, a sopa! Soup. :lovestruc By the way, thanks to your staying at POFQ again before and mentioning the renovated rooms, I decided for us to give it a try again in November! Wish us luck (and pixie dust) that we didn’t have a disastrous stay there like last time!

Even being late for EMH, you got to ride a lot of rides with short waits! Nice getting to sneak in a second ride on Soarin ;)

Love the pictures with the topiaries, it really did look like a beautiful day.

Sounds like a yummy early lunch!
I was so happy with the wait times, despite it being a shorter emh for us, it worked out well.
F&G is my favorite festival at Epcot

Awesome that you were able to walk on to so many rides! :yay:

I remember spaghettios! :thumbsup2

I should probably watch that before our July trip! :happytv:
I was so nice to get on all our favorites before the crowds increased
The spaghetti o’s were very tasty!
Coco is so good!

Yikes, people can be so rude!

That reminds me of when I was at Disneyland trying to exit the park after Fantasmic, which is basically wall to wall people. This lady started screaming and yelling, saying "DON'T PUSH ME, I HAVE MY KID WITH ME". Someone else was like, 'um yeah everyone does' :rotfl:

Anyway, I don't know what people expect in crowds!

B1 is the only way to go! I don't even want to ride if I have to have feet in my face or screen distortion. At least with the old Soarin' any section was ok in row 1. Oh, how I miss old Soarin!

This is such an adorable picture of you two!

That is so strange that it was served with spaghetti!

I loved those displays! Coco is a wonderful movie and I love that it teaches about a different culture. And it's such a lovely tradition.
Ha, you do see all kinds at the parks for sure
I only like Soarin now if we are in B row 1! I’m in the old Soarin group as well, I miss it!
Thank you! The pictures at Epcot are so pretty with the flowers and topiary!
I highly recommend the kids empanada meal, yummy!
I so agree about Coco, such a wonderful movie about the Mexican culture!

Jeez! How rude!

Cute picture! I took a lot of pictures of my Allie in front of "the walls."

Great picture! Looks like the refresher did the trick :P

They look like spaghettios…I don't know if that's good or bad
Some people, right? Very rude
Andi loves all the Disney walls, the girls are up on all the latest trends.
Yes, she was more pleasant after the refresher. I tried one for the first time this trip and I was hooked, so good!
So true about the spaghetti like side, ha, ha

I'm super behind, so I wasn't going to quote anything as I read, but then I just had to mention:

This is such an awesome shirt! The color is pretty, and I LOVE the design with Mrs. Potts and Chip. :)

Your Flower and Garden pictures came out great, too. I'm so glad I got a chance to see this year's festival briefly before it ended.
Hi Meghan
Looks like you are having a great road trip so far!
Ahh Thanks, I really liked the color and the uniqueness of the shirt. I do love Beauty and the Beast!
F&G is my favorite festival!

Fontera, the new FQ rooms, and Vodoo donuts were all awesome!
CoP is a great ride to do solo, just like People Mover!
Ugh! Andi thinks it is embarrassing if I ask for that or ask for a better table at a restaurant! Glad I went by myself and got the good spot!
Definitely try the kids empanada meal so good. @MiracleCream explains what the spaghetti side is in the post under yours, very cool!
I am on the Coco bandwagon for sure, Pixar movies do tug at the heartstrings!

Thank you for explaining the Fideo! I had no idea, it was really good. Oooh I bet it would be good in a soup!
We loved both our stays at FQ this past year so I sure hope your stay is better. The convenience of a small resort, unique food items, and the boats to DS make it a good one! I think I remember you talking about your stay on my other TR but refresh my memory, what happened?

Fideo is amazing as a soup  we did like POFQ but had a lot of trouble with bell services and the room floor (a wet spot that wouldn’t dry and the kids kept slipping every time they walked by). I’m hopeful with the renovations like the laminate floors that we won’t have similar problems! :cool1:

I sure hope it is better for you all in November! Bell service was great in April, asking if they could help us each time we walked in the lobby. I really liked the wood laminate on the floors. I did not think it was dusting or dirty at all. I know some have complained about this at the Pop.

Well for those of you who follow my reports, you know where I live can be cold, well today on June 2nd it is 42 degrees, what?? It was 80 on Thursday! So, since it is so cold and raining, on with the report!

WS adventures continue on............................

We left Mexico and made our way to China, we wanted to try the spicy meatball at the F&G kiosk. We really enjoyed this, the flavors were good, it had a little heat but not overly spicy. It had the crunchy Chinese noodles and a salad on it. I can’t find my F&G booklet so the descriptions of our choices maybe a bit lame!
IMG_Jun22018at85217PM.jpg

We spent time looking around China, very pretty gardens!
IMG_Jun22018at85253PM.jpg

We took a few pictures in Italy but did not try any of the offerings here.
IMG_Jun22018at84531PM.jpg IMG_Jun22018at84838PM.jpg

I wanted to try the deep fried cauliflower in Morocco, this was so good. It reminded me some of deep fried mushrooms, which I love. I know some of you are making the yuck face :crazy2: The batter was fried to a nice crisp. I loved the capers on them and the sauce was delicious, sorry the picture doesn’t show the sauce. It reminded me a little of yummy sauce from Japan.
IMG_Jun22018at84435PM.jpg

Fruishi was up next, one of our favorites from the last couple years. It is fruit wrapped up like sushi with a light sauce and whipped cream. A small portion and seem to be smaller each year!
IMG_Jun22018at84500PM.jpg

We decided to visit our favorite store Mitsukoshi, this store always has the cutest items and great candy. The Japanese CM’s are the nicest in all of the park, in my opinion. We got to meet gudetama “the lazy egg”, hilarious! Look at his little bum. I wanted to buy him so bad but I didn’t! He is my goal for August.
IMG_Jun22018at84747PM.jpg

After having a good laugh at the lazy egg, we headed to France to look around. It is always so crowded in France so we didn’t stay long. We passed through The United Kingdom and took a look at the tea garden so cute. I would like to do the tea tour one of these visits.

We then made a stop in Canada to try the filet with the mushrooms, mashed potatoes and carrots. This was delicious. The meat was very tender except the one little piece Andi tried, she said it was gross and fatty.
IMG_Jun22018at84404PM.jpg
We looked at some of the merchandise kiosks until we worked our way to the last couple booth areas we wanted to try. We had to have our favorite Violet Lemonade and I wanted to try the Sugar cane shrimp skewer. I love shrimp and this had some good reviews especially from @ariane37 husband, he loves it!
Andi didn’t really want any so I ate this myself and it was delicious. The grilled shrimp with the sweet and savory flavors was delicious. It was grilled perfectly so I agree with all who love it, yum! I didn’t get a picture of the shrimp so I just took a picture of the picture:rotfl:

It was time to head out of Epcot to AK for our FP+

Stay tuned for our fun animal adventures!

Yummy, this sounds so delicious!

It is always so crowded in France so we didn’t stay long.

It is! I don't really mind crowds but La Boulangerie (I think that's what it's called) always seems so hectic

img_jun22018at84619pm-jpg.326836

What a pretty drink! It seems like you girls had a wonderful day at F&G!

I politely said excuse me and she tore into me, yikes!
Yikes is right! What is it with some people???

I immediately made Andi stop for a pp, she was less than thrilled but obliged.
I know the feeling! Trying to get my three in a pic is never easy! This one of the two of you is sweet. :)

Andi wanted to go to Starbucks and get a refresher to help her wake up! I was in total agreement, hoping it would snap her out of her irritability :hyper:
Aren't teenagers fun in the morning???/

Did I mention, it was beautiful out again, so the flowers and topiary extra awesome!
Looks like a gorgeous day!

I was starving by this time, it was 10:40. I jumped in line to order us some chips and guacamole and the kids empanada meal. This was served with grapes and a small bottled water.
This looks like a great meal! I wonder if you could have the black beans as a side instead?

I wanted to try the deep fried cauliflower in Morocco, this was so good.
This looks yummo! Can you get it at the QS too or only at the festival booth?

Lovely pictures.......

And I love the picture of the picture of the shrimp.......:rotfl:

It did look lovely.

We decided to head to Epcot this morning, we didn’t realize it was EMH at Epcot until we got to the bus stop and it was crowded. Here we thought, we were getting a good start to a 9:00am opening.
Oh man, we do this all the time. We rarely worry about EMH so its always a surprise when we get there "late." Planning on actually hitting a few EMH in August though, largely so we can do more of the Toy Story rides and enjoy the nighttime hours.

The people in front of us were tapping blue Mickey’s so the CM calls us to come around them, well the lady had her stroller blocking the area. I politely said excuse me and she tore into me, yikes! She said what the bleep, bleep do you want me to do! Cranky early morning park goers, man:worried:. We squeezed around the crabby family and made it into the park!
Yikes! Someone may want to remember she had a child with her.

Andi was tired and a bit irritable, like the stroller lady:rotfl2:I did convince her to ride a favorite LwtL with a 5 minute wait! I love this attraction. I remember riding this in 1989 with my parents and sister.
You probably remember the original version like me. My brother and I still sing the Listen to the Land song. I think the nostalgia is 99% why I love this ride. I always sing Listen to the Land when we ride and Casey HATES it! A bit like crabby stroller lady I think.

Orange bird photo pass!!!!!!! I must have this NOW

Yikes! That is insane. Its 58 here today and I thought that was nuts. Stay warm.

I love me some cauliflower so I think this would be up my alley, provided the don't actually taste like mushrooms :P

We got to meet gudetama “the lazy egg”, hilarious! Look at his little bum. I wanted to buy him so bad but I didn’t! He is my goal for August.
img_jun22018at84747pm-jpg.326835
OMG I have never seen this. I think you and Casey will be fighting over this come August. It has her name written all over it.

Great report--very timely since we'll be leaving on the 19th with my teen daughter and her friend. So exciting to see someone from Duluth! My husband is getting ready to retire from the Coast Guard, but Duluth's ice breaker was our first station. We lived in an apartment on Park Point, close to the bridge, and loved crossing over to grab dinner at Grandma's. Such a great place to live and as you mentioned, the airport can't be beat!

Yummy, this sounds so delicious!

The cauliflower was very good, I would get it again for us
I can never get a good picture of the Beauty and the Beast topiary in France, mobbed by people, lol!
The Violet Lemonade is so delicious, the night blossom at AK is similar but VL is better.
