Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

We are staying Poly CL TPV at the end of July. This will be our second stay in this room category and we are really looking forward to it! A few questions:

1. What are the current beer offerings?

2. We last stayed Poly CL about 5 years ago. I hear that they've made some improvements in the food since then. What are the big differences in the last few years? The Poly CL food wasn't our favorite. To be honest, I really prefer New England / traditional American type food (The food at BWI and GF looks amazing!)...but the ambiance at Poly can't be beat!

Thanks!

Hoping to get some info from GF RPC veterans. Been to GF CL on our honeymoon, and a few other times, but not since the WDW 25th anniversary, so it's been a while. We are going back this December for our 30th anniversary, so of course we had to stay at the GF!

We are splitting our stay over 10 days:

1) Check into GF RPC
2) Move to GF 1BR Villa
3) Move to Boardwalk Villa

My questions deal with the GF portion of our stay.

First, on the day of RPC checkout will/should we retain access to the RPC for the rest of that day/evening, even after we check into the GF Villa? I know the amenities are supposed to be available until midnight of checkout but wondering if the RPC access gets invalidated when we check into the Villa since it is a Grand Floridian property (but without club access).

Second, what are the pros and cons between rooms on the 3rd or 4th floors? I have restricted mobility so thought it would make more sense to ask for a room on the 4th floor since that's where the lounge is. (I had originally booked a Deluxe King, but didn't like the elevator gyrations needed to get to the DKs on the 2nd floor).

We are going to ease into the trip by starting off the vacation with primarily resort days - certainly when we have RPC access. This is a reverse of what we did last time - it was really nice to have all of the park hopping done before we stayed at the GF - but schedule and availability didn't line up this time.

Also- if we have afternoon tea in the RPC (free), is there any reason to go to the main tea downstairs (not free)? Other than the surroundings, is there any significant difference?

Finally- any significant changes in 20+ years? :D
(Other than the massive increase in planning required?)

I am so excited about going back to the Poly- and am looking forward to giving their CL another shot. We love the location of the Hawaii building, proximity to TTC, and pools/vibe- but our last trip to Poly CL (2 years ago) was meh. CMs were cold and unhelpful, lounge offerings ranged from poor to sad, and alcohol offerings were on lockdown prior to 5pm. For those of you that have had POLY CL experiences over the past few years- how has this changed? On our of our BWI stays, the CMs in the CL lounge mentioned that they were training the Poly CL and GF CL staff on food ordering and chef offerings.. Since our last Poly stay- we have been to GF RPC/SL, BWI CL, CR ACL, and AKL CL. We are debating on the dining plan- past few CL stays we haven't had to do it bc the lounge offerings were heavy enough to warrant a meal substitution to pair with our TS plans.

We first stayed Poly CL in 2014 or 2015. Generally speaking, lounge offerings are quite a bit different today than they were then. Around Jan 2017 they pretty much overhauled the menu. Breakfast items are pretty abundant with usually a couple of proteins (finally!) (hard boiled eggs, a meat, etc). Afternoon snacks are shrimp or chicken lettuce wraps, veggies, chips, etc (although I do miss the snack mix!). Evening apps are a variety of "small plates" that the chef is usually plating right there (note, not cooking, just plating).

Beer will be in the fridge starting late morning/noon - it's self serve (so convenient). Wine comes out with evening apps, but is available all day upon request too. Definitely no lock down.

To me, Poly CL CMs are hit or miss - but in fairness I kind of feel that way about all of the CLs. I've gotten to know some so we it's always nice to see familiar faces. There are usually new faces each time too. I had one Poly trip where I felt it was cold from start to finish and I swore never to come back (but I did).

I still think Poly CL offerings rank below many of the other CLs - but generally speaking - I very much enjoy things these days over just a few years ago.

Here are some links to pics upthread that may help with food visuals (granted menu options can change).

Poly CL - May 2017 Food

Sorry, long ramble... hope it's helpful!

My favorite room category in all of WDW! :-)

The prior post sort of answers a similar question to yours. "Improvements" will be in the eye of the beholder, but I generally prefer the offerings these days vs a few years ago, although it likely won't fit everyone's pallet. Take a look at the pics in the links above - that should help with a visual of the latest types of offerings you may encounter.

For beer, this was as of Jan. There was a recent report of I-4 IPA being added as well.

Hope that helps, and hope you have a great trip!

thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures!
But I do have a question: Am I "allowed" to take more than 1 serving of each appetizer at a time??
One of the reasons why we stay at CL is to save some money on food. My family don't have a huge appetite and we have two young children who don't need a lot of food. DH and I also don't drink. But I doubt we will be satisfied with just 1 serving of each dish. Will CM or other guests give us an evil look :sad2: if we help ourselves with the food offering??

I can't answer to Poly specifically but I know for a fact you can at BWI. The chef will even frequently bring plates to your table, if he's been preparing them when you came in and you have to wait. Brings more than 1 almost every single time.

We always make the lounge offerings our dinner when staying CL. We have a big lunch, and that's the only meal we purchase, since we'll have eaten breakfast in the lounge before heading to the park each day. CL apps are more than enough for our dinner.

You are allowed to help yourselves, more then once:). Enjoy!

Hi mickeynut :wave2: So happy to hear you had a great trip and were able to reschedule so quickly.

Hi Maxie .....thanks! I was surprised to find availability for just 2 weeks later for exactly what I originally booked. I'm so glad to have tried BWI CL because it lived up to the great reviews I've read about and we had an amazing time :goodvibes.

Hope you have a great time on your upcoming trip :wizard:.

Arriving right on the 4th and heading to EPCOT from the BC CL.

Have a great trip :yay:.

The 6th-10th for us! Can’t wait!

Have a great time! :jumping1:

We haven't stayed Poly CL so I can't comment on that, but wanted to say that BWI CL food IS amazing! Had my first stay there last week and I can honestly say that all of the great reviews that are posted about it are right on. Trying Poly CL in Oct and I couldn't be more excited, but I also want to go back to BWI CL....that's how amazing it was! If you ever have the opportunity, I definitely recommend trying BWI CL. Hope you have a great return trip to the Poly :).

Hoping to get some info from GF RPC veterans. Been to GF CL on our honeymoon, and a few other times, but not since the WDW 25th anniversary, so it's been a while. We are going back this December for our 30th anniversary, so of course we had to stay at the GF!

Hope you have a great anniversary trip back to the GF :wizard:.

Sometimes there are glitches, but your access to RPC should be valid until midnight of your change day ;).

Not much difference between the 3rd and 4th floors. With mobility issues I would request 4th floor to be near the lounge. The elevators at the Grand are very slow.
You will have RPC access until midnight of your checkout day but your MB may not work after checking into the Villa. Just go to the front desk and they can fix the MB so it will work. Congrats on your 25th anniversary, enjoy your trip.

Quick question... anyone know if AKL or GF RPC offer Angry Orchard cider? I see it in the Poly pic above. I'm not a beer drinker but I do love cider!
