I love credit cards so much!

Then go with the poly! That’s a lot of money!
Well I'm probably going to. We were considering a "bucket list" view though and doing Theme Park view at Contemporary so we could sit on the balcony and watch fireworks. While that would be awesome, if I it's not available for my nights then it will remain a dream, not a reality, lol! PLUS the fact that it isn't available makes me concerned that no discount would apply to that room even if I find my way into it (my calculations were assuming I'd score a 20% Room Only on those 3 nights...). AND without the discount, that turns the $400 diff into an $850 diff...which I can't really reconcile in my brain.

Gotta love those magical rates.:P
YESSSSS!!!!!

I think I'm going to lock things in now - I can always cancel, modify, whatever later. But if these rooms sell out, I have a real issue... LOL!

Today was my planned day for P2 to DD the Sapphires :( .......but had a rethink.....and pleased to report a successful CIC app. :yay: Data point: This app was made 3 days after dropping to 4/24.

The CSR will most likely be next up....... is it still recommended to wait at least 90 days before the next Chase app, even after a business card?

Bad form to bump my own post, I know, but 10 pages have flown by and I don't think anyone answered amongst the RMN frenzy - so can anyone confirm the answer to my question? TIA.

I would put 90 days between ALL chase apps.
I don't think it's bad form at all - we are moving at light speed these days.

While I agree with @wendow that we've been advising 90 days a lot lately...it also seems that Chase's shutdown efforts have slowed. Perhaps they've decided that shutdowns are a terrible way to contain churners and have moved on to adding restrictions and rules (like we've seen).

Can you list out all of your cards in order over the past 24 months (including biz and personal). I think I'd say you could go a little quicker than 90 days if you want to BUT wouldn't state that without knowing all the facts.

Thanks. Thats what I thought - just wasn't sure if different rules applied after a biz card.

Gonna have to find something else to fill the void. I had planned on having $8k of MSR to meet over the next few months.

Whoa yeah if you got stuck with a $850 difference I wouldn’t do that. Theme park view would be better though... decisions decisions

So do you mean that if you book the extra night and then call to change your check-out date, you will not be able to?

I had a somewhat similar situation with Hilton last year when I wanted to change our check-in date. In order to make the change myself, I would have had to cancel the whole booking and re-book. Which wouldn't have been an issue because the room we wanted was available for the extra night, BUT the rooms we wanted for the rest of the stay (queen beds -- which we already had booked) were not available. I was afraid if I cancelled the reservation I would lose the queen beds for the whole stay. Fortunately the Hilton customer service person fixed it, but it was a bit of a hassle. But what you are saying is that Disney will not fix it?

I had this happen at Universal last year. I had booked for 4 nights then decided we didn't really need that last night. I had booked with AP rates. I called to cancel the last night and they would not let me. They said they were fully booked. I argued that I didn't want a night, I just wanted to have one less night. But they said they would have to cancel and rebook the whole thing and they were booked. I argued that if they cancelled my room, then they had a room to give me still. No dice. So weird.

DP - Ok so I met the $1,000 Spend on my DH's AMEX Gold Card. This was the one that I got the Pop -up but interpreted to mean that I may not be eligible and continued on and was approved. I had Chatted with AMEX when I got the card and they confirmed that the offer was on my card. So, I met the spend and just chatted with them again to see if I had fulfilled all my requirements. The rep came back and said the bonus was originally on my card but the bonus was declined for misuse of bonus offer in the past. So, sadly I will not be getting the 50,000 Points. Only other AMEX cards that DH had were the SPG Personal and Business and pretty much did not put much on after the bonus. Hard lesson to learn. The sad thing is I can't even have DH apply later for the same card to see if he gets offer again since he now has the card. Now to decide to keep it or not...

Wow, that stinks. I would look at @Jen and Ashwin posts from today and maybe try again with them. It is weird that they would deny you after having only 2 cards before, especially if they told you the offer was confirmed on your card. I would be ticked.

Well - P2 is 4/24 with the following...

3/17 Amex SPG Personal
3/17 Citi TY Premier
1/18 Barclays AAviator
5/18 CIP
6/18 Amex Delta Gold
9/18 CIC

Also holds Amex Everyday/PRG/JetBlue+/Hilton Ascend/Chase Freedom.

CSR or CSP seems to be the logical next move....it won't kill me to wait 90 days.....but the ol' trigger finger will getting antsy again soon.

got a vanilla gc.... can't input info online to check balance, etc, just get an error screen, called the # and it's all good to go -anyone else have this issue?
i've had it with mc's from safeway and staples. but calling in and doing it on the phone seemed to work.

I won't lie, but I think this worked out in my favor! So we are going next month and have party tickets, DD and I have Annual passes and my Mother a 3rd party ticket. Somehow the party tickets dropped off but I still have physical mailed tickets. I thought it was just something I did so I went to add them and they would not take so for S&G I created three new profiles and tried to add them and it worked just fine. Then later that morning I went to move a FP and noticed I can make three more FP's under those profiles! HAH! After some research looks like this was known in the party threads. I am sure glad tho I looked around sounds like I have to exit and come back in at 4 under the party ticket the FPs to work, no problem as we were planning on an afternoon nap anyway so we could stay out late. Guess I should venture outside of this thread more. :rotfl2:
I remember that from the Xmas party thread last year. I also remember the people who eventually started having their FPs cancelled out from under them after doing something like that. I’m sorry I don’t remember more but personally I would do a lot of research into how this went last year to make sure you’re gonna be ok.

I see this has been answered but either of those cards will code as x1 at Walgreens.

For RMN, you have to link the card, then use that card to buy the gc (I think you would have to do a $25 Disney and get $10 back via RMN). Best case scenario, it posts within a couple of days and you can link that offer again. Up to 3 times per month/or offer period. So, if you hit that a few times plus add in Staples, home depot, etc., you are getting some great discounts but it takes a little work and time.

If you want to do a discount in one swoop, the Best Buy route is probably better. Make sure you use SB to earn even more.

I'm sorry if this has been asked or addressed already, but I can't keep up with this thread! I'm just reading up on RMN and starting to collect Disney gcs. On the RMN offer to link Walgreens, Home Depot, CVS, etc, they all say "Excludes gift card purchases." Has this been tested to not be the case? And the $10 off offer actually works for Disney gift cards? Thanks!!

Yeah - Disney is weird like that too where if you have 4 nights and try to cancel 1, they will only let you if you could've booked 3 nights based on the current availability. I'm sure it's to avoid having empty nights but it sure is annoying.

1 of the TAs I talk to contends she can get it done...the other said probably not...But I think I'm going in a diff direction now anyways.

I just did the same thing and was going to ask this exact question.

Hmmmm...so you have 2 personal cards this year. 2 Chase Business cards...you're obviously 4/24, you are also 2/12, and 1/3 on personal cards.

CUE MY DISCLAIMER...proceed at your own risk, LOL!

I'd bet you'll be just fine after 60 days. If you can manage to wait 90 I'd do it...I would hesitate to pull the trigger in sooner than 60 though.
