Best Beach you've ever been to?

I'm not a beach lover so others may chime in to tell me what's wrong with it, but for the softest white sand and prettiest water, I've got to go with 7 Mile on Grand Cayman Island. :beach:

Koh Lipe, a tiny tourist island in Thailand. Amazing.

More recently, the second runner up would be Mullet Bay Beach in St Maarten. Was just there last week and was blown away. Soft white sand (although not the most powdery I have enjoyed) and crystal clear water. So much fun snorkeling from the beach. The water was only very mildly salty and didn't leave that sticky feeling on your skin. And it was only a 10-15 min walk from the famous Maho Beach where planes land over your head.

We were on a cruise and ported at Labadee, Haiti just a couple of days later. Had a blast on the beach but the water was saltier (so had the sticky residue) and although clear, was not as crystal clear as St Maarten.

I'm a beach girl. We've been to beaches in all areas of the US & in the Caribbean, except Hawaii*. I generally prefer the middle Gulf Coast of Florida. I prefer white sand & smooth, clear water. That said, the nicest beach I've been to is Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine, FL. My sisters & I were there a few years ago in July. We had the very wide, extremely clean beach practically to ourselves. We went for a long walk & encountered one other couple. It wouldn't be my choice for someone who is mostly interested in the water, but it's a excellent choice for people who are only interested in the beach.

*I always wanted to go to Hawaii, but I've lost interest since moving very close to the Atlantic in South Florida. The only reason I'd go there now would be to see an active volcano.

Just for the water I'd say St. Maarten too. So, so perfect. :thumbsup2

Maegans Bay in St Thomas. It was just so cool to see hillsides of lush foliage surrounding crystal clear water.

I like the Lido Key, Longboat Key and Siesta Keys off Sarasota. Captiva island and Playalina Beach near Cape Canaveral.

Another vote for middle Gold Coast. Warmer waters and whiter sands. We stay at a place called Rosemary Beach each year for a week. I don’t really care for the Atlantic.

Out of the domestic US, Magen’s Bay in ST Thomas was amazing. Sea turtles swam with our kayak in crystal clear water.
