Stroller rules to be enforced

I have to admit, I thought those wagons were pretty cool and I wished they were around my DD was younger but then I saw the price and said no way.

I'm fascinated/horrified by these reactions. People are going bananas on FB and screaming at each other, calling each other names, its crazy. There's a change.org petition and even Keenz posted on FB asking customers to contact Disney to voice their complaints.

I get the Keenz angle as I am sure this potentially will cost them tons of profits

The name calling always annoys me - I get it, there are different points of view, but we can be civil about it and understand people have different experiences - what works for some people doesn't work for others. I do think people can adapt and still enjoy their trips to WDW (the people saying they need to cancel their APs because of this seems a bit much) but also get that this is a change and people first think about how this change may negatively impact them

Wow--that's crazy. I think people feel very entitled about Disney because they are paying so much, and there have been changes in recent months. I do not like frivolous complaints, and to me, getting upset about stroller size (barring any medical needs) is frivolous. If they don't like the new rules, they can simply vacation elsewhere. It will make the park more enjoyable for those who follow the rules.

Looks like the Keenz is not going to be allowed. While it fits within the guidelines, it’s a stroller wagon and they specifically prohibit stroller wagons.
Why do they keep referring to it as a "stroller wagon?" A stroller is defined as a chair on wheels and a wagon is a cart on wheels. Just because you push it doesn't make it a stroller.

I think because previously Disney did prohibit wagons and anything that is pulled ... the Keenz differentiated itself because you could pull or push it - so it was in this gray area and they would call it a Stroller Wagon to differentiate it from regular wagons that can only be pulled

They'll have to actively pay attention regardless.

It's a reduction from 36inches to 31inches. There are going to be some strollers, even double ones, that will be too large. Agree that most people won't be impacted but don't assume that all double strollers are A-OK, even some single strollers are way wide, while there are doubles that are less in width than singles.

But you may not notice the CMs sizing up the strollers, they may be doing it discreetly before ever getting to the point of measuring. There may still be ones that get through, but if there are too many I would assume Disney has to go even stricter and go to measuring more strollers (or using a box or whatever) that may look even slightly too big or right at the limit.
I think this could easily be remedied by having a “door” they have to push the stroller through to measure the width. No room for “judgement” by CM, just have a stroller lane and if you can’t push it through the door it doesn’t go in the park.

While this was a rumor, they did say they were specifically addressing the rumor and made some pretty bold statements saying "you will not have any issue getting into the parks with your Keenz 7S Stroller" or saying they have "re-confirmed" with Walt Disney World Stroller Rental Manager that the Keenz were the only style of stroller wagon allowed.

Essentially Main Street decided to address a rumor by specifically crafting a letter to debunk the rumor (through the statements they were addressing the social media and blog posts), which their response ended up being another rumor (speaking to a Disney World Stroller Rental Manager that couldn't speak on record).

It's interesting that they have scrubbed their Facebook, Instagram, and website of any mention of that "press release" that they did. They've also carefully described the 7s on their product page as a "stroller", not a "stroller wagon".

Keenz has admitted they are no longer allowed. It's strange that these guys won't let up.

the only area where i may see where someone may have a problem, is the time frame of this announcement is only about a month out. There are probably some people out there that are buying a stroller for their disney vacation this summer, and have already bought it.

because it has features of both. It is pushed like a stroller, has the shape of wagon. Plus it makes parents feel better to say stroller wagon instead of just wagon. lol

In which case, they have plenty of time to return it and buy something else.

I'm not saying they won't have something in the future as already been mentioned with a box, tape or painted lines, etc.

I'm thinking right now (well right at May 1st) unless they can know it won't cause such a huge backup because the sheer number of strollers that are used. But that's just my thoughts.

It would still go a long way to have CMs at the TTC and bus stops at the resorts so they find out earlier than getting to security having to deal with it.

My bad, I must have read wrong I thought the width was higher!

Well in that case, I find it odd they’ve made more work for their front line CMs when one stroller is 1.5 inches too wide but to the casual observer looks exactly the same as the one making the cut. That’s going to be a pleasure to deal with, I’m sure.
An easily applied suggestion that was made on the TPAS is to have two upright posts that are set 31 inches apart. If the stroller can pass thru unimpeded, then it is good to go. If it can’t, then it’s too wide.

Oh that would work, but I don’t envy the CMs having to deal with turning away the regular stroller an inch too wide if being strict on measurements is the way they choose to handle this. Most people are going to assume a run of the mill stroller can get in to a Disney park and won’t check rules.

Agreed. And of course, there are those with special needs who may need a larger stroller.

I think people are more upset about this than they were the parking fees and some other policy changes. Moms are going psycho on each other over this online. People complaining they're canceling their trips if they can't take this wagon. What the...??? If a Keenz make or breaks Disney for you.... I'm really surprised at the backlash.

But even then, there are special needs stroller options available for rent that fit Disney parameters, that IMO, would be a lot more comfortable than a Keenz, since they offer full recline options.

I dunno..the parking fees was a very bad PR week for disney...they actually lost either a half star or a full star on facebook. They got a crap ton of negative press on it.

However if they stuck to their guns with the parking fees, then they'll stick to their guns on this.

I believe people actually canceled trips over those fees...i cant see people actually canceling trips over this.
