Where did you get the fabric? I'm always looking for good fabric! My girls (24 and 19) and I were discussing whether or not we'd Disney Bound next March.
Oh you should totally dress up! Have you ever looked into any of the custom Disney fabric groups on FB? The fabric I got yesterday was some black tulle with crystals from Fancy Pants Fabrics. It will be the skirt attached to a bodice made out of custom Star Wars fabric. Here's what the fabric looks like on a dress I just made for myself.

The United news is awful. I'm trying to get United miles for a big 2020 anniversary trip. Now I'm not sure if we will have enough. Follow up question. If I'm an AU on DH's United card, can I get another in my own name and still get the bonus?

Approved for Chase Ink Cash today after initially getting the 30 day message 3 days ago. This is the 5th Chase Biz for me. Only at 2/24. Recent Chase apps . . . Hyatt 8/11, CIP 11/1, CIU 2/1. Note that I DID NOT get 0% for a year on this one (think that's a recent change). Hope this helps somebody, and happy Friday!

Congrats party:

I'm in the camp of definitely cancelling all my SPG cards. I cannot find a use for the nights so why pay the fee!?! The 'Bonvoy' program has been so devalued imo that I just want to cancel the cards, use up my points and be done with them :(
I kinda' feel the same...except I'm in the middle of using my Lowes10% back offer and had to pay the AF to do that (bad timing for me lol) so whatever I made the $95 back easily with that one offer.

We'd really like to be in Lynchburg no later than noon but we MUST be there by 1:00. We would leave in the wee hours but we also have to meet up with DD in the morning as she is going with us.

The route - 495 - 66 - 29 was picked by WAZE and Google Maps. I always get worried whenever the GPS picks something other than an Interstate highway. I have been burned by so may small towns, red lights etc. DD does have the EZ pass Express transponder but I wasn't sure if that would even help us on this drive.

What is wrong with 95 north of Fredericksburg? Congestion? Have you taken 29?

UGH - I am getting so stressed over this.
Edited to add - DH just showed me Satellite View and there's a boatload of traffic lights, at least at the beginning of Route 29. I think I will stay on I95 and hope for no accidents.

Looking at live traffic, no matter which way you went, there seems to be nothing big enough to slow you down this morning!

Should take around 4 hours depending on if you stop! Enjoy your day on the road and at your destination and stay safe!

wwyd? small potatoes question.... I have a 2 night Hilton stay upcoming, 40k points per night. I am splitting the 'cost' with 3 friends for a suite- so my choice is use 80k points straight up, but how do I 'split' the cost of between 4(me paying in points of course) OR I can book using 43k points plus cash+taxes....so that = about $210 cash+43k points...(so I charge each friend $70 for the weekend..... IDK why I can't figure out which choice makes more sense. I don't mind using points at all,and I'd like to keep this as low cost as possible for my friends.... Thanks....

I think it’d be so fun even with her just being 3. You girls can just go all out on princess stuff!! Hard to do when boys are in the mix.

I really want a mother/daughters trip so maybe when we have APs! My dh isn’t going to be left out very easily though :rotfl2: Not sure how some of y’all pull that piece off!

Same here. If there is only one child then all it does is make someone feel left out. Otherwise I'd love to take a mother/daughter trip.

In my case my DH and DS were going to Germany so we got a girls trip when they came back. Then dh and ds and I went to F&W for a long weekend without her. Then I did solo in 2017 when DH went to Germany and am doing it again when he goes in August.

Yep, the AU card wouldn't stop you from getting your own card - well unless it affects your 5/24 count - but just having an AU card on someone else's account means nothing regarding the bonus.

I am as well. Swolphin was why I opened 5 Marriott/SPG cards early last year. Now I cannot use any of those FN certs there and the point cost is just ridiculous. And don't get me started on the useless cat 1-4, 7-night cert. Yeah, I'm a little bitter.
You can join me in the "bitter over loss of decent Swolphin redemptions" club if you like..... (full disclosure I am keeping back enough points to splurge like 3 nights sometime in the future when I need them, but otherwise I'm O.U.T.) I'm trying to look at it like this....over the past few years I've gotten AMAZING stays at Swolphin and Wailea beach resort with my pitiful SPG game I played..... I mean WOW. I wish it was still going, but honestly I'm amazed at how much I got for so little over the years-trying to be grateful for all those memories:thumbsup2

Oh that's so good to hear! I was worried at first it might be hard with since she's 3 but I think it's going to be great :)
@disneymagicgirl , if I see you I'm totally saying hi and calling you Disneymagicgirl lol.

Yeessss! I will be on the lookout for you guys. It wasn't hard at all. That is why it was so great. I just followed her around and did whatever she wanted. I wasn't trying to juggle keeping multiple kids happy. I wish we could go every month!

My hubs hates Disney so that was no problem. Hahaha! I disinvited him from all future trips the last time he came. Total kill-joy. It is DD19's bday during or Memorial Day trip, which is why we planned it for then, so he is coming for 2 days to celebrate but won't be doing any park time...I made that clear. He is allowed to come golf and fish and attend dinner. :rotfl2:

My boys were a bit sad when I went on the mom/daughter trip but they knew they had may to look forward to, so it was fine. I think I'm going to upgrade them to APs when we are there in May because it is so nice to have multiple trips a year, and the cost to upgrade the 6 day hoppers isn't bad at all. I am just going to have to get accustomed to staying at Hilton bonnet or DTD on points to pull it off.

Someone help me remember... do AA miles from the Citi cards post when the statement closes, or just within X number of days after meeting MSR. Met MSR on DH’s card on 4/3, statement closed yesterday 4/5. Might’ve been too close.

I had some straggly United miles in DH's account - and with the no award chart news - I just used them to book an SUV for my time in Vegas. We've never had a car while there but we want to be able to go out and explore beyond the strip. Normally I would say never use airline miles for car rentals but in this case it seemed prudent. After all, I'd rather have the cash in my pocket.

I would book the 80K (if I am understanding you correctly that this covers the suite cost?) and then also start a dummy booking to figure out what the room costs and divide that by three. If you want to be generous you could discount a little. Room cost (approx.) 210 x two nights equals $420 divided by three = $140 each. Your points are 'your' cash. Don't feel bad using them.

As I explained to someone earlier this week in real life, its important to tell someone what they are required to pay. This person was all 'oh I've got points' to her friend and then wanted to charge but now didn't know how to bring it up.

You can add value to your friends cost because points rooms usually result in no tax, so it will/should be cheaper. If you feel like it, you can 'treat' by doing the cash plus 43K, but I like the 'no cash out of my pocket' deals better.

And, there's nothing wrong with charging the lowest amount you are comfy with.

PSA the United miles portal has gift cards to buy with points. They do have Disney. The redemption rate is pretty bad... unless you've got boatloads of United miles and want to burn off a few. https://giftcards.mileageplus.com

I'll add to this too since there is a frenzy over using American miles for Disney. You can do the same with United. Of course it is way harder to earn United points.

Looking for random days in October I see All Star Sports popping up at 18xxx miles a night.

I don't fully understand the implications of the award chart elimination. Does this mean they will base required miles on cash booking prices? I have about 12k miles in my account - figured I've eventually move a few thousand over from UR and use them for a one way booking.

With award charts, you knew roughly how many miles you had to pay for your seat in economy or the premium cabin to get from A to B, regardless if you were flying at a low or high demand time, provided there was award availability. The miles were set by a chart and your miles cost were capped. It gave some clarity and made it easy to compare miles to cash fares so you could maximize your cpp/cpm and really get some outsized value from your redemptions. United is moving their miles program to dynamic pricing, so your miles cost is apparently based on demand and the cash price of the ticket. That’s going to hit passengers hard who want to use their miles to fly during peak travel times or on business/first. I’m wondering what will happen to saver fares if redemptions are revenue based. There’s no cap now, so a business class ticket that I’ve been eying that was capped at the 70k miles saver level under the charts might cost 200k, maybe more?
