They can... but they won't. Then who suffers? ... The kids, when certain administrators decide that a good way to deal with unpaid lunch bills would be to take a child's hot lunch & throw it into the garbage in front of them & the other students.maybe the formula needs to factor net worth then, not just annual income. Seems like abuse of the system to me. They can sell their fancy house, budget, and feed their own kids.
Is it fair... no... but the issue of childhood hunger & nutrition is so important that I really can't get upset about people "scamming the system" as long as every kid gets fed. It will come back to bite those selfish people one way or another in the future. It always does.
Three snacks per day in addition to meals is just , though.
