Ebates will have some stores 20% off on Monday. I'm hoping Macy's makes that list since it's their friends and family sale so a good time to stock up on NYDJs and makeup. Wish I'd thought to get Macy's gift cards from Kroger when they were doing 4x fuel points but I still have $1000 left on my Amex offer at Lowe's so I'll hit Lowe's this weekend on my way home from DD's swim meet and convert that to Macy's. Should at least be 15% or so off.

I'm now closer to 9 weeks and no certificate since I got my email. @Alexle2007 - did you ever get yours? I got my email March 2nd and paid my annual fee immediately when it posted. Totally ridiculous!
Here was my timeline, just short of 9 weeks:
DP: Finally, my SPG Biz 35k free night cert has posted! Here's my timeline:
2/1- Anniversary date
2/11- Renewal membership fee posted
3/8- Payment
4/4- 35k Free Night Posted
So just shy of 9 weeks for the 35k to show up. Just ridiculous!

Am I reading blogs and informaiton correctly that I could apply for one but not two Southwest cards? I'm looking at a personal and a business to earn a companion pass.

2/2019 Chase Ink Preferred Business
2/2019 Barclay's Frontier Airlines Mastercard
2/2019 AU on DH's AMEX Ascend :( Should have never done that. Doh!
9/2017 AMEX Hilton Ascend

Did you not trust me.... :P

Southwest’s schedule is currently open through 11/3/19. On May 29th they will release flights through 1/5/2020.

You can earn a bonus on both a personal AND Business card. The new-ish rule is that you can only earn 1 personal bonus every 24 months (across all 3 personal cards).

Keep in mind that if you earn 110,000 SW points in one calendar year you will receive the Companion Pass for the remainder of that year and ALL of the following year.

I fell back to 4/24 on April 26, so I applied for a CIC this morning. I waited about an hour to make sure my application had made its way into the system and then called the status line. It was saying two weeks, which I took as a good sign, but I figured the fraud alert on my credit report would need to be dealt with, so I decided to talk to a person. Total waste of time, lol. The guy was basically like I don't see anything on your application that needs follow-up (with a tone that kind of said, "why are you bothering me?"). I did confirm they will call me if the fraud alert becomes an issue. I *might* have checked the status line a couple of more times since then, and it still says two weeks. It's been over 6 months since my last Chase app, so I'm cautiously optimistic about approval. The only thing giving me pause is the potential effect of the fraud alert. Also, I decided on the CIC because I really want one in my own name in case Chase nixes household transfers (DH is the one with the CIC now). This card is a great UR earner for us. I also wanted the 50k bonus instead of just waiting to product change my CIP. I also didn't want to risk a Chase shutdown by going for CIP #2. I'm willing to chance a shutdown for DH, lol, but not for me given I have the bulk of our UR earning cards (and I was anticipating eyes on my account if I had to verify identity, etc. due to the fraud alert). If the multiple CIP loophole is still open, I might consider going for another CIP once I close mine in another 6 months or so after hitting the 1-year anniversary. Seems easier to play dumb about bonus eligibility and card rules without an open CIP sitting in my account.

Praying for eBags!

Daily Getaway deals starting 5/6! https://www.doctorofcredit.com/daily-getaways-2019-preview-now-available-deals-start-05-06/

ETA: I think I might try to do the Busch Gardens deal. DH and I had discussed renting a car and driving to Tampa for the day when we do our Sheraton stay in Orlando. We've wanted to go to BG Tampa since we've been to BG Williamsburg so many times.
Eeeeee! I've been waiting for these!

Also, I'm on page 1126!

And it looks like DH is off to KC again next Mon-Tues. I was looking at SW flights and there is a WGA fare for Tuesday night to come back... I'm secretly hoping it will sell out before their travel lady books anything because that would push him into A list for SW.

Several blogs and r/churning are reporting a 30% transfer bonus when transferring Amex Membership Rewards points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles. As @Haley R knows, VS>ANA is an extremely good value for J and F seats to Japan. Transfer bonus expires 7/1/19. Note DoC cites a limit of only 75,000 MR, but reddit does not see any limit.

This timing could be perfect for me if I end up going the VS transfer route for our Japan flights vs. transfer to ANA. The good news is that I'll know which direction we are going before the bonus expiration date.

Interesting concept. The participating airlines aren't ones we typically fly (with the exception of a random flight leg here or there on Air Canada when using United miles), but nice to have in the back pocket if it becomes helpful.

I'm heading to the airport soon for the first of two churning wins: upper class (i.e. business) on Virgin Atlantic via Delta (saved huge in fees) SFO to LHR and coming back on British Air via Alaska miles in first (I'll pay the fees for that). Jammie count should be +2. It's all about the pajamas, LOL. This is a trip that has been on the books for a while: a 21 day excursion through the British Isles with an extension to the Faroes. As @calypso726 and @Calfan know, the Faroes are my #1 bucket list. If the weather gods are kind, I will also be hitting St. Kilda for the third time. It's one of the most remote and beautiful places I've ever been but zodiac landings can be tricky. Anyway, I'm taking bets on how many pages I will have to get through when I come back. 200? 300? :)

I filled out the online form to upgrade my Disney Visa to the Premier card Friday night. It said it could take up to four days, but I hadn't heard anything.

I just got an e-mail to add an authorized user to my "Disney Premier Visa Card" sooo I guess the PC went through.
I did the same upgrade on Thursday. Got an initial email but nothing since. I logged in today to see the picture of my card changed (I chose a different one this time) so I guess I’m approved.
DP: Disney Premier 7/17, downgraded 8/18, took upgrade offer $100 4/19. Less than 24 months since original SUB but used a targeted offer.

Nice, glad it worked for you! I remember you mentioning the fine print on the last offer. Glad the targeted offer worked.

I kept the same design. Nothing new that I wanted since I initially applied 3 years ago (I think BB-8 for C3PO/R2D2 is the only change). Come on Cinderella Castle for 2021!

But isn't that what all of the Bonvoy changes have been about? :P

Did they bump you to the $100 statement credit? I got a mailer last week to upgrade for that offer. I am right at 24m since approval (today actually) so I doubt I would get the credit. Into the trash it goes.
See my comment upthread. Approved after 20+ months with the $100 offer. My understanding is Chase doesn’t usually approve a card if you don’t qualify for bonus. I’ll let you know if it doesn’t work. I’m going to add $100 OBC for our cruise.

So exciting!! Can't wait for the pics. And I had the exact same thought upon finding out that there will be no cell or Internet service at any of our safari camps in Botswana (about 9 nights): OMG, how many pages of the credit card thread am I going to have to catch up on when I get back????? I might even have had that thought before the one about this circumstance forcing me to really disconnect from work for the first time in forever.
