Silly question, but it's been a while since I got an Amex and I can't remember. Will DH's new Gold card not show up in his account until I receive it an activate it? I guess I'm used to Chase and the card being in your account as soon as you're approved lol.

New cards don’t show up automatically onto your Amex account(s) like they would with Chase. Amex usually sends a Congratulations! You’ve been approved email with a button/link to Set Up Online Account. You click that to add your new card to an existing log in or set up a new online account for it.

Ugh! We blew it! We got a refund onto our CIP and it put us just a couple dollars under the MSR. And we lost out on our sign up bonus. I'm so sad! :(

Does your bonus tracker actually say you missed out on it? Usually people hit it without knowing it because they accounted for refunds and the refunds seem to not go against it. Is it possible that you just hit it so close to your statement that points will show up on next statement instead of the current statement? If not, so sorry it got messed up. But fingers crossed for you that it actually will post still.

How long does it normally take to see a support on an account? I was approved 12/19 and don’t see it in dh’s account

Here is a question I had not considered... perhaps @calypso726 @CaliforniaGirl09 @Haley R would know...

As you all know, I will need to keep checking for a flight to change my return from Japan to (sorry for the terrible sentence).

What if ONLY first class is available to change it to, when I have booked business for the return? Will they let me pay the difference in URs/miles, or do I HAVE to find a business class return?
If you have first booked on the outbound then you have already paid for a RT first class flight. If memory serves correctly, a mixed cabin is allowed and you should be able to book business if that’s all that is available but you will not get a refund on the miles difference Since they are priced RT. I’d be looking for first of course :P
I'm not sure how it works once you are ticketed (we booked ours at one time and didn't change), but we definitely paid less miles for the business portion of our trip. The price was as if if was one-way in first and one-way in business even though it had to be booked as a RT. It sounds as if @ten6mom did the same thing? My guess is that if there is only a one-way first available you will be able to just add miles, but I'm not 100% sure. I would think they would treat it as reticketing. Don't forget you can also fly in and out of different cities. That's what we did. The boys did a positioning flight home from LAX on the return. They flew out of SFO.

For our April WDW trip, we're spending the first 2 nights at BLT and will have the DxDP. Currently our meals are:
Tues (arrival day) - Snow White Dinner
Wednesday - CRT lunch, HDDR dinner
Thursday - Garden Grill lunch

I'm contemplating canceling GG lunch and doing a late character breakfast at Topolino's Terrace. I realize it's new, but does anyone have any thoughts on whether switching would be a good or bad idea?

Thursday is the day we switch resorts. Normally we take a midday break, but I really dislike not having a room to go to if our room isn't ready yet. I figure with either reservation we would take our time checking out of BLT, and spend the afternoon at Epcot, come back and swim/hang out at the resort that evening. If we went to Topolino's Terrace, this would still fit in with that plan and we'd get a chance to check out the resort and the skyliner.

My CSR will be 48 months in October. I had always thought this would be a keeper card for me, but now I’m wondering if I should PC to CF and maybe reapply later this year or just PC back in another year. My travel credits are starting to post and I can use up the rest to pay some timeshare maintenance fees today. Right now I’m at 4/24 and next month will be at 3/24. Do I wait until the next billing cycle for all the travel credits to post? Is there something I’m not thinking of?

DP on my Aspire-

I knew I'd have a hard time using the Hilton resort credit so changed our on the road hotel (for 12/29) from a Marriott in Ocala to the Hilton Orlando LBV Disney Springs. They charged my Aspire 1 night (the only night) fee up front and then resort credit posted 3 days later. So I'll end up paying $98 + $22 parking and $25 resort fee for one night--much less than I would have paid for that Marriott. Oh AND I got reservations at Homecomin'...win win.

Barclays ?
I applied for the Barclays AA biz a couple weeks ago (maybe a day before all the drama hit with AA,) and after a couple days of under review when I checked the status online, it changed to the message that they are unable to offer a credit card with Barclays. When I tried for the Citi AA a couple months ago, I got denied for too many credit inquiries so I figured Barclays had the same issue. I was going through our mail from earlier this week, and the letter from Barclays about the credit card application is asking for more information instead of giving a reason for being denied. Anyone had a similar experience? I'm just confused about whether they denied my application or if it is still under review :confused3 Are AA points still worth pursuing at this point for someone without any other AA cards? I was looking for a card with a small MSR to use while we waited out our next SW card apps, and figured we could use the AA miles for hotels.

I think we missed out on it because the tracker disappeared and it's not showing as pending like the bonus for my CFU was showing as. :( Hoping I'm wrong.

I'm waiting on this as well on a card that was approved 12/12, I'm going to give it a bit more time with the holidays, so I'm not worried yet. Typically it only takes a couple weeks depending on early vs. late week approval...

What’s the latest on using the Verizon Amex Offer on gift cards? There seems to be a 5 quantity limit on each denomination. The $100 GCs seem to be in stock and I can add them to my cart, but when I submit the order it says they’re out of stock. When I try 5x$75, 2x$50, and 1x$25, it tells me I need to call in.

Do physical Verizon stores sell gift cards up to $500?

Mine took about three weeks.
Okay thanks. Seems like I’ll have a little bit to wait still until I need to be worried. I don’t want to contact them and draw eyes to our accounts

I like the idea of doing Topolino's, but GG is not one of my faves contrary to popular opinion. I need to go look at what I booked for my April ADRs. Maybe I can squeeze in Topolino's also. For what it's worth, we really enjoyed Snow White Dinner!

I literally just went through this with Barclay. Thought I was denied, but then received the letter asking for identification information. I did as they asked and mailed all the requested photocopies. I received the email today that I was approved for the card. For reference, I sent my photocopies via USPS Priority Mail. I wanted confirmation that it was received/didn’t want all my personal information getting lost somewhere. It cost a small fortune but only took 2 days for Barclay to receive the letter. The letter arrived at Barclays this past Monday the 23rd and I received approval notification this morning. So really quickly. I was surprised.
As far as AA goes, if you don’t have any cards I say “why not” if you can use the miles. They just won’t be as easy to accumulate from now on.

I hate to be bearer of bad news, but didn’t they cancel those first few months voyages?
I only know because I read another diser talk about it. If you were already booked you would think they would have let you know by now.

Thanks for being the bearer of bad news. I had no idea. I guess it was cancelled 12/20. I’m not sure what I want to do now. I feel bad for people that paid for flights . So much for not doing a Disney cruise in 2020. I think we probably will be now.
