First of all, I didn't know and still really don't know what a capsule wardrobe is.

But, you could try setting out a weeks worth of clothes. Pick 5 complete outfits for your next 5 at work days. From top to bottom including shoes. Then rotate the next week etc. If you find yourself not enjoying wearing any part of your ensemble, drop it in the laundry and earmark it into the donation bag. And as you pick your outfits and keep rejecting certain items, they need to go.

It's okay to want new things but at some point to make room when new comes in something old and possibly unused needs to go to another lucky owner.

I've now got a Goodwill fairly near me and have discovered that in the mornings they have a semi attended box at their donation door so I can just drive in and sometimes just hand items to the worker. (Haven't done it in months, though so time to get going again.)

I'm not sure what a capsule wardrobe is either but I'd like to pare down to the things that I actually like and USE!

One thing that I have done before, and probably need to do again, is turn all your clothes hangers going the opposite way as you usually do. Then as you use items, put them in as you would normally. Its an easy way to see what is and isn't being worn. I did this for DH last year as he is a large clothes horse and we just didn't have room for everything. The clothes that had never moved at the end of the season got removed and donated and he never even noticed!

DH wants to drive down the Keys and visit Fort Jefferson on our next trip to WDW (November). He was thinking fly to Fort Lauderdale and drive from there then head to Orlando. I'm trying to wrap my head around the logistics of doing this. Has anyone done something similar?

Proline yes, but do you need that huge of a pan? 14 inches is really big. I have the all clad 14 inch and I never use it. It can cook for a small army. You almost need a gas burner to cook with that size pan as an electric does not have enough contact area.

The other's are less heavy but still okay, but not as nice as the proline. I see Costco doesn't carry the ones I have anymore. Amazon has the 12 inch for $35 and the 8 and 10 inch as a set for $41. Costco used to sell same 2 piece for 24.99. Some have a red silicone handle and some have dark gray, but same quality under proline.
@Judique no I figured the 14 was too big, but I wanted to make sure I was looking at the right stuff, and they don't have hardly any of the pro it appears. Now that I know, I will look further. Definitely need a 12 inch though.

My Personal Plat payment is due Friday. I've paid off all but the AF so I will be closing it tomorrow. Not going to try to triple dip since nothing is going to credit in a day. Did just use my January Uber credit to order UberEats for lunch since the repair man is here fixing our garage door, ugh.
I calculated it out and this card got me $1000 in credits (Uber/Saks/GE/airline) $138.41 in Amex offers and 137,889 in MRs. Not bad for one year. Even after subtracting that $550 AF I made $588.41 plus all those MRs!

@hsmamato2 you can transfer UR to BA to book AA flights. However, BA awards are distance based so you need to look at their chart to see what the mile cost would be, as you’d be using theit award chart even though its an AA flight.
ok...so if I did AA, I'd need to check the BA chart, and that's 1-1 with the AA miles used? so whatever's on the BA chart is the cost? Is there a risk of losing the seat or fare if the transfer takes a while? Would I need to call BA to book an AA flight? (I did this once, and I had to call in to get the flight I wanted) or wil some AA fares be showing on the BA site? thanks

What does a normal person do at 1am on January 1st...probably sleep.

What do I do... analyze 14 years of retirement contributions to make sure I have the appropriate documentation for the Pennsylvania Cost Recovery Method should I elect to retire early and take distributions of traditional IRAs (or create a
Roth Conversion ladder) prior to 59 1/2. I'm sure that makes no sense to almost everybody... but rest assured I have added a 23rd tab to my Financial Master Spreadsheet and have reviewed tax records back to 2006 to ensure I have everything in order. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

I think I might take a shower now and maybe have another snack, LOL!

Figuring out the Roth conversion thing is one of my new year's resolutions. By "ladder," do you just mean that you are converting the limit each successive year?

Happy New Year! Y'all have been busy - 17 pages already!

I'm so jelly of everyone's travel plans. We have 1 WDW trip for this summer, and that's pretty much it. I'm hoping to add a HI trip later in the year if the baby does well at WDW. Biggest churning goal this year is to get under 5/24, which even if I stay on course won't happen until Q4.

That confuses me so much. We do have Roth and contributed in the past but in recent years stuck with the traditional.
So what I was referencing last night was related to plans for 10-15 years down the line for me. A Roth Conversion ladder is a mechanism that could allow you to access traditional retirement funds earlier than 59 1/2 without penalty. I wouldn't even begin these conversions until I was within 5 years of my early retirement (and probably not until I actually "retire"). A discussion on this would be better had in the FIRE thread but if you want to read about it, I feel like the Mad Fientist does a good job explaining it here:

Not sure if you guys were interested in that topic or were more just wondering about roth vs. traditional in your current situation. :D

🤣🤣 I expect to find one, but most likely not for the next few weeks, but here I am checking the RCI Disney inventory just after midnight and then the Interval International Marriott inventory just after 3:30. I do sometimes sleep through that 3:30 alarm😴😴

Is this 3:30 ET or PT? I have a week expiring March that I need to try to re-trade.

You need to make an Avios account (BA awards) its free and then search “book with miles” from your account. Then you should be able to see partner flights online and book with Avios online. UR to Avios should be instant!

That link won’t work for me. I even tried searching that site on google and I still can’t get it to work
A report from twitter indicates they are having issues with their web certificate or hosting provider for some folks. It might be affecting your area. I'll just copy and paste for others that may be affected as well:

According to reports online, Disney has changed the way it displays adult and child dining plan credits for Quick Service and Deluxe plans to better clarify how points are allocated.
As seen in the screenshot below, child and adult credits are now split instead of pooled together for Deluxe and Quick Service plans. Previous to this change, the credits were pooled for all guests on a reservation, regardless of child or adult designation. This meant that, technically, child credits could be used on adult meals because they were pulling from the same allocation. With the updated presentation of the credit allocation, it seems much less likely that this “loophole” will be able to be used at a location.

In reality, this is Disney simply providing an easy to understand look to something that allowed some ambiguity in the past and could have led to some guests utilizing the Disney Dining Plan in a way that Disney didn’t intend it to be used.
This isn’t a change in policy, but it will still impact how many use the Disney Dining Plan for their next visit. Many will see this clarification of allocation as a negative to the perceived value of the Disney Dining Plan, but it is ultimately just ensuring clear communication to the guest and servers at the point of transaction.

I’m in Central time. I find Interval International “loads” inventory around 3:30 AM central time. However, I got a notification from the TUG sightings thread at 8:30 this morning that there was a deposit at Ko Olina for next Dec. I grabbed 2 studios, it looks like we might be going back to Oahu 💕💕.
