Simple. They Don't open GE for EMH anyways so don't drop BGs until regular opening. The trick is allowing people in early through the turnstiles and holding them at central hub for the drop. IMHO, would allow both sides to open 30min prior to get them through the bottleneck of the turnstiles
I wonder if they can scan entry media again on an iPad at the Tomorrowland entrance like they do at WDW. Slower going without magic bands but not impossible I wouldn’t think.

Soooo I just had to give a family member a crash course on ROTR, BG, and also all things Disney as they are going last minute next week (over marathon weekend 🤦🏻‍♀️) and have not been in at least 10 years.

Do we think Saturday or a Sunday next weekend is better for ROTR, should they decide to attempt it? Asking incase there’s actually a reason to pick one or the other and it isn’t a crapshoot lol. The 7 AM opening Saturday and 8 AM the next has me questioning. I assumed they should avoid Epcot Sunday so I’m leaning towards DHS then?
Both mornings are going to be a mess with road closures at park opening. I would say go for the morning that work better for them.

Edit: Looking at the race maps they are going to need to get down to Osceloa Parkway to enter DHS from the main entrance. Where are they staying because that's going to affect how they get around property.

Maps are here by the way: https://guide.rundisney.events/maps/

What are transportation options to get to DHS on time for 7am open from French Quarter?
The buses are running very early - the first bus from GF yesterday left at 5:55 or so, we missed that one, the second bus from GF left at 6:30, which was probably too late for many (we got very lucky yesterday.) I’d check the bus app. on MDE morning of as you’re dressing & if you can’t grab a bus close to 6 a.m. shift strategy & try getting a Lyft/Uber.

In know off topic, but any idea how to get from Riverside to Beach Club for an 8am character breakfast next Saturday? I can;t see a way, but there has to be a way for guests to get to/from the Beach Club - right? we have our own car.

Thank you! They have a place holder stay offsite, and I think are calling a Disney travel agent to see if they can work a miracle because from what I can see the onsite resorts that would work for them aren’t happening.

This is definitely making me, a Disney obsessed person who can plan in her sleep, work lol!

Is there a specific technical reason to expect a non-current mobile phone to perform poorly? I will be in a one-phone situation with an Android v.7 using Tracfone over MLK weekend. The phone supposedly uses 4G LTE, which I thought was pretty reasonable...but I guess one way or another I'm going to find out. :scared:
Not at all. Provided MDX app is supported, this will have no impact on you compared to every other variable.

I haven’t experienced it myself yet, but it seems like an improvement they could make to the BG grab time is an increased number of CMs roaming around with iPads or whatever they need to resolve tech issues.

I agree that the system as a whole is probably the best solution since crowds clearly will come earlier and earlier if there is benefit to being at the front of the pack. Definitely frustrating to run into issues with their technology though. I think that’s something that could be improved.

Selfishly I would really like to see them allow one person to grab for their entire party, even that given as a perk to onsite guests who can do it for people in their room to somewhat limit the numbers.
Last time i did RotR was the second week of December and they had about 8 roaming cm closer to crossroads at park opening along with the regular, fixed blue umbrella locations

I remember you as one who reported lots of them :)

It sounded like the last few days when there were more widespread issues the CMs were harder to find or had longer waits.

Is there any guidelines on the correlation between BG number and time of day you'll be called? It seems 125 and up are very late in the park day and 1-20 are very early. Is it sort of linear after that? So BG 63 would be around lunch?

In theory if there is no downtime I would expect 63 to be called about 4ish hours after park open. We had 55 on 12/29 and were called just over 3 hours after the park opened.

My family had BG 91 and was called at 7:46 to enter line, (took them a few minutes to get there, actually got in line at 8:06pm) waited 55 minutes in the line, had a “delay” at one point while in the ride and was through the ride at 9:24pm.

As for crowds...since this ride opened, it has always been “something.” It’s the initial wave of fans... then holiday crowds... then New Years... then AP blackouts in or not in effect... then the marathon weekend, then MLK, then Pres Day weekend, then Spring Break....at some point CM blackouts will be lifted... etc, etc. Disney is a never ending string of “something” that impacts crowds every day of the year.

Three years later there’s not that much of a rope drop experience difference for FoP or even 7DMT.

Sure seasons and holidays will impact things on the margins. Just not sure if it’s going to impact RotR to a material degree.
TP dropped their crowd level recently at HS to a 1 from about a 4 on Feb 11. I've hardly ever seen 1's. I've been considering whether to try that day, Feb 11 (Tues) from offsite, or Feb 9 (Sun), which is still a 5, but when I'd be staying at the Dolphin and could walk over. Who knows if the 1 would mean there would be no horde trying to get a BG for ROTR or maybe just rest of park less crowded. I'm keeping both my contingent plans for now and will continue to monitor Disney's change in hours, etc. I saw they did away with the a.m. Feb 9 EMH. Right now, both parks supposed to open at 9:00 those days, which seems so late compared to recently and low barrier to making it by park open. Any advice, feel free to chime in!

But apparently, @Taylormade0503, you and I are the only ones who feel this way!
Add me, too.

When we were there for Xmas week we were anticipating huge insane crowds. Perhaps being DLR regulars....it felt like a typical summer weekend for us..
It's all about perspective I suppose😁.
LOL, that's how I felt when we were at WDW for Christmas one year. No comparison to the crowds at DLR where we are regulars.

Based on what I have read of the crowd calendars I wouldn't trust this as a baseline for ROTR specifically. In my opinion it is a Bantha-sized outlier and wouldn't be a good candidate for the type of analysis used to generate these crowd calendars.
Historical averages vs hotel pricing/availability etc, lose a lot of their value when used to analyze a new ride that will have been open less than 2 months by that time.

That said, it probably does retain a portion of it's predictive power for the parks as a whole.

If you have your own car, it's probably easiest to drive. But buses should be running to HS early for the 7 am opening there. You can walk from HS to Beach Club or take the boats which run 1 hour prior to park opening.

Resort to resort transportation is not really Disney’s speciality (mainly since it’s not offered, other than Minnie Vans). I agree with the PP that taking a bus to DHS and walking or boating to BC is a good workaround. If you don’t mind paying, Minnie Van/Uber/Lyft/Taxi would be convenient alternatives. Minnie Vans (and a limited supply of Ubers) are your only options if a car seat is needed.

Or just drive.

Next Saturday is the WDW Half Marathon, so keep an eye on the course map and be prepared for possible transportation delays, if you’re not already.
