THANK YOU for accidentally creating one of the most entertaining parts of this thread! I'm trying to keep up with this thread in preparation for our own trip three weeks from now. It's hard, but you made it worth the daily read!

So, just to recap the process for everyone...

Wake your spouse and kids up at dawn and get them out the door:

Once at DHS, quickly find the bag check line:

Ugh so do you have to race even to things like TSM now at rope drop? Was hoping for a relatively stress-free morning after (hopefully) snagging a BG.

I'm trying to figure out how to plan. From this thread it sounds like HS is deadlocked at 6-7AM. My original plan was to take my 8yo son, uber to the park half an hour or more before open, get on a boarding group, and I figured I'd have the next 2 hrs or so to hit a lot of rides. Hopefully get on Smuggers run first thing, then hit some other things like toy story, RNRcoaster, TOT. get out of the park before lunch, hit the pool. come back with a FP for SDD and fireworks.

If its packed that early, I really don't know how to tour this park. FPs with 1 tier suck. Most rides IMHO are not worth 1hr + wait each. I'd do Smugglers run for an hour, but thats about it.
we're going president's week, so it is a generally high crowd day no matter what.

Unless you're there early and make your way to the front of the pack, I'd expect a medium to long wait for anything in the park at opening. There are so many people there to get boarding groups that then move on to the rides first thing that there's really no way to avoid it. Most people who get a BG stick around for awhile - either because the other parks haven't even opened yet or they planned to be in DHS all day or may only have one-park tickets. I haven't sensed that there's a mass exodus after the lottery - a few people but not most. Normally we would hit the Sunset Blvd rides at RD since that corner of the park is low traffic in the mornings since TSL and GE opened. Last week, however, both RnRC and ToT hit 60+ minutes by about 7:15am - so we just left and went back to the hotel. I think in the Tim Tracker video on getting a BG (on Jan 4), he headed over to ride AS2 after the lottery since it was the only ride with a low wait time on the app, and by the time he got back there it was up to 45 minutes. Some of those lines (in theory) should go down with lower post-holiday crowds, but I still wouldn't expect walk-ons or even short waits.

There's a very pouty CM that is not loving these last minute extensions . Im like, hey look at it this way, it's $13 more dollars

I hope that's a real "13" and not, in Disney terms, a Tower of Terror or Haunted Mansion "13" that really means "0" All the credit to the CMs who have been handling these massive crowds and adjustments while keeping things running as smoothly as possible!

We are headed to DHS on Tues 1/28. We in only have single day tickets. From what I read here, we should go to Disney Springs and get our card tickets beforehand. We have a party of 6 and only 4 of us have MB, and they are from 2017. Park opening is 8am. I'm going to be stalking this thread until then. Thanks for all the info.

That's just crazy - love MFSR, but 3 hours --- maybe for FOP perhaps if I was really itching for FOP.

I hope she gets another crack at ROTR if they get done early and smuggle CMs over

Apologies if this has been answered already. How do you add people to a boarding group? All my party are on my f&f group but when I try and do a ‘dummy’ run to get a BG (hitting my status) I cant see where I add on my party? Hoping that once I’m actually in the park it would allow me to do this quickly, or is there a way I can set up a boarding group party from home? Hope this makes sense!

Today seems like an odd day with poor performance and a portion of the ride or pre-show down. Probably not a lot of takeaway today unless it starts to become a trend tomorrow.

Once the bg button turns red you click it and then pick your group from your friend and family list. You can try tomorrow morning and you should see the list.

It's the same like that you get when you're trying to add a Fastpass selection.

If you can't/don't want to modify the list, the fastest way I've gotten through is just hit select all -- and those not in the park will show up to remove from the list -- punch through those quickly and then hit submit.

It's a lot faster than going through the list of who's there than not IMHO.

Today seems like an odd day with poor performance and a portion of the ride or pre-show down. Probably not a lot of takeaway today unless it starts to become a trend tomorrow.

A friend was evacuated off the seated part *twice* today. First attempt was escorted past the first part of the attraction entirely.

Are they suddenly performing better or are they just flooding the line and going to run a little linger tonight in an attempt to get their everybody? I certainly don’t know but I’m guessing it’s the latter.

Also not sure if people are experiencing the full attraction now or missing out on parts still as reported earlier.

I'll wear it proudly and defiantly after last week's experience. They really should add tees for "I Survived Hollywood Studios Park Opening - 2020" or "Boarding Group Lottery Winner" or "A Jedi's Power Flows from Staying to the Right and Refreshing Often". I mean - I did see they've embraced the kitsch and added "I conquered It's a Small World" tees, so just go all in.

Here is my theory.......they already spent a ton of money to staff the whole place for an extra hour. If everything else closes down, and the main BG's are placed inside SWGE.......they only have to pay a small portion of wages and keep one ride open...... to avoid giving out comp tickets.
