All this talk about Scottsdale and DH came home the other day telling me he is going in a few weeks. Maybe I will join him. His flights are on SW so it would be free for me to go. He is staying at a Hilton resort, not sure which one. I just know it is not Marriott or Hyatt, lol, the 2 chains I really want him to get nights in. I see I can temporarily bump him to Hilton gold with a match. Not sure if it is worth it because I don't think he will get enough nights to make it last more than the 3 months. Hilton card is on my mind in the future, got the popup last time we tried.

Yes, some travel agencies do that for you but I doubt Chase does. So you need to the one who proactive.

It's always a good idea to keep an eye on prices. Definitely with Chase (they're really not much more than a portal like Expedia) but even with a TA. I sign up for price alerts from cruise critic dot com. Cruise fish dot net is also a good one although I haven't used it in a few years. Cruise watch dot com is good too.

When you get an alert go to the cruise website and price out your cruise. If there is a reduction reach out to Chase or your TA who can walk you through options.

I don't know the ages of your kids, or if this would interest you, but we are also a family of 5 and have always found it cheaper to have two rooms. We usually book the 3 kids in one room and DH and I in another. Sometimes my mom goes on our cruises with us and then we book three 2 person rooms. We don't spend a lot of time in the rooms anyway, so that has worked for us in the past.

I recently booked a cruise for this December through a well known online cruise specialist that buys cabins in blocks and offers discounted rates - we are a party of 5 for this cruise and it was actually cheaper to book 3 cabins with their special rate than it was to book 2 cabins. Seems their 'special' rates are only good for double occupancy and do not work with cabins that hold 3 or more.

Everyone is very happy with the extra space and extra bathroom and DW & I are thrilled to have our own room.

Hilton Gold gets you free breakfast. Oh maybe the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak. That's a nice one! We always stay with the ILs (MIL or SIL) so we miss out on the gorgeous resorts they have in Phoenix.

I see his itinerary now. It is DoubleTree Paradise Valley.

has anyone who signed up using the free $20 gc offer seen that gc yet?
I received the $20 e-gift card by email the same day I signed up for my Sam’s Club membership. It took several hours, but I definitely got it that day.

Come on over the weather is beautiful 😊

I have a quick question please. I see there is a generous offer for a SW card. My DH has 2 personal cards I am an authorized user for. He got sign up bonuses in January 2018. Can I apply for my own card & qualify for the new sign up bonus? Or would I not get it because I am an authorized user already? I would get the priority card which he does not have. Thanks!

I own Friends on DVD and on iTunes. It was ridiculously cheap for the whole series on iTunes last fall, I wanna say $19 or something? So I got it LOL, since it's HD that way.
DH has some Bonvoy points too, but he is never going to call. I am thinking I might just transfer them at a terrible rate to somewhere else just to be done with them.

You can apply for your own SW card.....do so from a support link from one of DHs cards so he gets 10k RR points too

They have lost everything good. I was one season from finishing Fraiser when I lost it. Followed it to Hulu got distracted by Burn Notice and now I see Hulu has White Collar. Honestly if I didn’t use Netflix as a gift for two different family members I would have dropped it this month (after years of being a subscriber).
The office will be gone next year too. We watch that a lot. Luckily we use my dad’s account. Otherwise I wouldn’t ever pay for Netflix

New Southwest Promotion. You do have to book Anytime or Business Select so may not be useful to most.

Book and fly one round trip and get 2,000 points
Book and fly a second round trip and get 4,000 more points
Book and fly a third round trip and get 6,000 more points

You can try to call when he's around and just get him to give permission if needed. When we transferred mine to hubby, he was the one on the phone and made the request. The rep never asked for my permission or that I make the request, but I assume she heard me talking to him about the reservation we were trying to book at the time. So a little different but I imagine he probably wouldn't have to get much involved if you called and did the heavy lifting. Just maybe suggest he doesn't sound under duress while giving permission :D
