Even as a desperation move, I wonder if this might cause problems at the tapstiles, especially if they aren’t checking fingerprints. The same person entering the park twice within a couple of minutes could trigger something because it would look the same as two different people trying to use two magic bands of the same person to enter the park.
IMHO worst consequence would be they pull you aside and ask for ID. If it's within a minute or 2 of opening, as PPs have said, just hang outside until your partner gets the BG.

My family of 5 will be at HS in a few weeks. Had a few questions.
1. Right now opening time still says 9:00am. Do you think this will be moved up to 7:00?
2. We plan on getting to park about an hour before opening. Is it much quicker to go through no bag line or is it just so crowded it doesn’t matter.
3. I’ve heard their are cast members that can help you book a boarding group. Is this quicker than trying on your phone?
4. Once you’re all in park can you book immediately or does it take a few minutes for the system to realize you’re in the park.

any help is appreciated

After you scan in it could take up to five minutes for the system to recognize you are in the park, but usually it is immediate. Someone just posted recently that two separate CM’s suggested to scan in no later than six minutes before park opening.

Don’t understand why they can’t give FP to those who are victims of a breakdown and miss parts of the experience. 🤷‍♀️
I mean I don’t think we missed too much but it did take us out of the “wow this is amazing” feeling we had up until that point. Consider the BG #s they are going through today, it just not have broke down much today. Lucky us. Haha, next time that room will just be a surprise! So it’s something to look forward to, but yeah some acknowledgement by Disney (even a sorry) would’ve been nice.

If you are using data, is there a better area to be in the park? Is it better to be away from a crowd of people? Also, are cast members stationed in certain places or is it random? Thank you guys! I love this thread.
My husband used data and I used LTE and he got in before I did. He also has a faster phone. We waited on a bench on Sunset Blvd where there weren't too many people. There was a suggestion to be away from the crowds, so that is what we did.

It’s going to depend on the cell carrier. AT&T has small cells in the park. Verizon may. AT&T definitely has a small cell on docking bay 7 in galaxy’s edge. AT&T worked well all through the park today. Multiple people reported good AT&T experiences in this thread.

Ok I am back home now. What a stressful day. When I reached the parking window I realized I left my wallet at home and my wife didn't bring her because she was traveling light so that we didn't have to go brought the bag line. My wife then realized that she grabbed my son's passholder card and not hers so there was an issue entering the park. Thankfully the CM was understanding. Then we had an issue where I couldn't add my family during he initial search. I got BG 74? Or maybe it was 76. My son and wife got 113. The GET CM kept telling me that he couldn't help but move me to 113. We decided to go to Guest Relations and the problem was fixed within 20 seconds. My stress level dropped dramatically and I had time to go home and get my wallet

All in all it was a great ride and I look forward to riding it again. My app went live at 7 but I recommend to begin refreshing your app a few minutes before

Ride was SO awesome!! Ride went down when we were 95% through the queue (which had been moving steadily prior). CMs brought bananas, water, chips and Chewie came through. I think we were held up maybe 30 minutes? We got the whole experience (DD and DH are watched it on YouTube tonight).

Going to give it another try tomorrow :). So amazing.

Also, there was a question several pages back about DAS. Just to add, DD went to GET outside of GE and they were able to issue her one for MFSR. So anyone wondering should be able to get one at the attraction or ask a GET CM.

Not sure if this is old news and I missed it, but looks like they changed park opening from 9 to 8 for February.

I didn't realize that the VQ opened 'early' that one day this week. For time-sensitive bookings through the years, I always had the sense that Disney's clock was very close, within a second or so, to the government's official time as reported at time.gov. No wonder I blew it.

So a summary from our experience today. My son and I drove in for the weekend with the main focus being Galaxy’s Edge.

Alarm went off at 4:45
Arrived via Uber at 5:20 from Best Western Disney Springs
Every tapstile had about 7 groups at this point
Believe they started letting guests in shortly after 6:15
Shortly before 7 I started going back and forth and finally hit the My Status button.
Ended up with BG 12
Walked straight back and right onto MFSR
By the time we finished that, our BG was called and walked right in. Ride was awesome.
During the day we rode MFSR twice more from single rider and waited about 10-15 each time.

We also hopped to every other park because we wanted try something new. Definitely no quiet times anymore at Disney. Everywhere was packed. However refreshing the app we were able to secure various FP and ended the night back at DHS. A very successful day all around.

I am never going to be able to do @SouthFayetteFan's incredible introductions, so I'm not going to try, but what I can do is bring you...

At HS today, got into the park about 4 or 5 mins after opening (some backup at the parking entrance). We were able to get BG 101 (assume 7:04 attempt). Our BG was called around 2:25pm.

4:45? .....park opened at 7 correct?

Forgot to add what happened after we got our BG! We were group 24 and were called at 7:50. We headed over maybe an hour later and waited about 20 minutes before the first preshow room. Maybe 10 min into the experience the ride went down and we got recovery FPs. We went and did Slinky and then saw BGs were being called again, so we came back through the FP line, and everything was seamless. I didn’t mind the downtime as it felt like we got to do the experience twice!

It’s been fun following along with y’all this week. We have a late flight tomorrow evening so today was our last Rise of the Resistance ride for quite a while. Thanks for everyone’s tips! Best of luck to everyone trying in the coming weeks!
