OT - which moderate resort is everyone's favorite? I'm planning some back up reservations if our May DVC BCV trip gets cancelled, and not sure I'll find availability on points, so I'm thinking I'd book a moderate with the AP Sun and Fun offer. We stayed at CSR in rehabbed room a few years ago and enjoyed it, but thought maybe CBR for the skyliner, or POFQ to try something new. Thoughts?
The only moderate I have stayed at was POFQ and I loved it. Stayed there when my DD was in the DCP. I told my DH if we are ever out of points I would love to stay there again.

Johns Hopkins site is talking about this: I hope it's real and not fake news:

https://www.globalhealthnow.org/202...ution-until-vaccines-and-antivirals-are-ready
That sounds promising. Not sure what you mean by fake news, but everything written in there sounds legit. I did a Google search on "IRB coronavirus" because I didn't know what IRB stood for - it stands for Institutional Review Board and there are numerous query results associated with research universities and coronavirus, so that approach may be gaining a foothold.

It's like getting the rabies immunoglobulin treatment if you've been bitten by a rabid animal and weren't vaccinated for rabies previously. Or like babies getting antibodies from maternal breastmilk until they're old enough to be vaccinated. Definitely a stop gap measure that could buy some time.

This is due to the chronic shortage of DUMBrellas in Florida. It's been pouring idiots for years and doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon. Yes, I am an exasperated Floridian. I just can't with the stupid in my state.
This exactly. Our club sent out a "warning" last night saying if people keep congregating in groups of more than 10 by the pool and pickle ball courts they will be forced to close them. I was thinking 'shouldn't they already be closed'? Also last week the HOA sent out a notice about a meeting of the board scheduled for this week, which due to the virus has been moved to the outside patio. Seriously? Just no common sense at all.

I took a look at some of my speculative travel later this spring on SWA. Flights as far out as Memorial Day are ridiculously cheap. I want to be optimistic that by Memorial Day the worst will be over.

When did China start? Wasn't it December? I want to be optimistic as well, but not so sure. I am following my normal Disney schedule - have revamped dates for Oct, Nov, Jan and Feb. My points are all in reservations that I get for 2020 October use year and I borrowed 40 from my 2021 October use year. Still haven't filled in all my days but niece says I can use the house if it's not rented, but that would be last minute, or I can tag along if they are there so that's an option. I'm thankfully free for last minute options!

But my close to home beach dates are already booked and don't start until end of June. I think that's a no go, but don't yet have to cancel. Then I have third week of July. Usually any weekends before June or in August are booked last minute, so those are not existing yet.

Sorry - I was sort of tongue in cheek referring to the look alike website that was purporting to be Johns Hopkins earlier this month. I should remove that comment from my post as it does sound misleading. Thanks

Here I go posting more vacation pics. The first one is where I was standing when I took the pic with the girls running to the little waves - on the deck/walkway from the Disney beach house. There is also a trail in the sand on the other side that has a long blue mat to walk on through the softer sand.

Sorry - sideways again! Anyway the 2nd pic is zoomed in for those who haven't visited my favorite beach! DD and I both decided this was our favorite beach in March and April - we don't care for crowds! In July it is indeed crowded and we go then sometimes, but to me July is for Ocean City, Maryland. In March in HH I am usually worrying that it will rain everyday - we've had that vacation here in the past. This week was beautiful for our 4 nights/5 days.
Thanks for the pictures! Definitely a favorite of ours as well!!

They talked about it in one of the briefings a couple days ago. It does sound promising. We are on day 8 of self quarantining and I really hope they can get something going sooner rather than later. I, too, am upset by pictures I see of people not social distancing. People just don't get it. I wish there was a more European focused news here. When we ere in the UK a couple weeks ago, it was very obvious how this was heading and the dangers of not getting a hold on it quickly. I live in one of the hotspots (Bay Area) with family members who are MDs, and it's not a good situation out there.

Did you read where they said China sent 90 tons of plasma to Italy? This number seemed amazingly high to me.

French quarter for sure

I used to read a lot of world news by googling newspapers online. Then they started charging subscriptions for the leading articles. I still do the googling and then will google stories to try to get the details for free elsewhere they might be printed. The US world news is somewhat limited, I think, because it is such a large country with so much going on here that not as much world news filters in. It's not that it's prevented - it's just that it's overwhelming, and then newspapers and other media here are going to print the stuff that sells such as Harry and Megan. I absolutely loved reading @WVMomof3 's daughters interpretations on her trip to South Africa as she touched on the reality of life in that nation. When I have been out of this country I've not felt so insulated as I do in the US.

I work at a 500-bed hospital we are at about 60% capacity vs our normal 110% for this time of year.Feb\March are normally our busiest months of the year. No one is coming to the hospital. Maybe out of fear of being exposed??? We have a floor set up for Covid rule out cases. Most of the patients have cold-like symptoms and we still haven't had anyone test positive. No visitors are allowed in the hospital. I'm really enjoying that part of this. I'm expecting they will start canceling staff if this continues. I'm ok with that too. I'll be the first one to volunteer.

Remember I'm just reporting what's going on in my neck of the woods. It's NOT meant to be an opinion on anything.
I hope it gets quieter and quieter there!
#SorryNotSorry ;) (because once it’s over I’m sure all staff will pulled back in and it’ll be crazy with everyone getting the procedures done that they put off!)

We are hopefully going to Orlando in October and booked our outbound flights on SW on release day. The reservation still looks the same when I log in, but if I do a search, most of the flights have been cut and there are only 2 flights out (with various stops on their way to mco, for a total of 6 flight options). How does SW usually handle this? Will we automatically be assigned a different flight or will we get to choose? Of the 6 options, 4 of the have 2 stops and I really don't want to get stuck with one of those.
Is the flight you booked still on the SW website ? If not I would go in and switch to a flight that works best for you
