"On this Day in Disney History" April 2020 Exercise Challenge

@bwvBound, sorry about the migraine. I hope you are feeling better today.
So far, so good, thank you!

Gladly it hit early in the early morning; Excedrin Migraine tablets work wonder for me ... but rob me of sleep if I take them too late in the day. By evening, especially after my husband stroked my temples for a while as we watched a movie, I was ready for sleep and slept soundly.

215 minutes - horses and walking

2005/1800

It was such a sad day at the barn today. The oldest horse on the property passed away. He would have been 110 if he were a human, so it was finally his time. It was so hard to say goodbye - and he's not even mine - but we all know he had such a good, happy life. I hope he's meeting up tonight with friends who have gone before him, and they have an endless, always-in-season perfect pasture to roam and forage.

@sophy1996 : Great bobcat photo! We used to have one that would snooze on our deck lounge chairs ... but we haven't seen him (her?) for awhile now.

For me, still horse work and yard work. I suffered a migraine yesterday ... started with the drop out vision issues while feeding the horses. Attending virtual church was painful as I can't turn off the video from other attendees and my eyes were killing me trying to keep up with sermon notes (an excellent message titled, "The End of Spiritual Distancing") while multiple participant video had ceiling fans reflecting in strobes across the artwork glass behind them. P.a.i.n.f.u.l.
(I think the migraine was supported by stress but triggered by pollens I dislodged while weed whipping on Saturday?)

I think I've loved Orange Bird since the 70's. Anita Bryant, right? I have some Orange Bird lanyard pins ... but not well organized, at the moment.

Glad to read that you are feeling better!

Howdy all. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I spent the weekend working on a video project which I'm pretty happy with! I think it turned out super cute! Lots of crazy weather it looks like. LOL. In Texas, no snow of course, but thunder storms a plenty.

Adding 40 minutes from Friday night and 60 minutes from Sunday night.

630/850

Congrats on the video project! Was this work-related or just-for-fun? Video production - even just something simple - is something I would love to learn to do someday.

We had quite a jump in numbers today. The TEAM moved up from 59% to 68%! That's huge! And making me second guess my math. (will double check in a sec) We also have two color changes today: bwvBound has moved up to Remarkable Red and Twilight Sparkle (me) is the first to reach Glorious Green! :bounce::bounce::bounce:

On this day in Disney history - April 20, 1991:

The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant opens at what was then Disney MGM Studios.

@Twilight Sparkle , sorry for the loss at your barn! That was a good old fellow! (Was he near 40'ish? If so, WOW!) Many years back, when my horses were boarded away from my property, a friend received that phone call, telling her it was nearing time for her aging mare. My friend wasn't able to reach the barn in time and asked me to be her proxy. The mare died in my arms. The friend said it was easier for her knowing the mare was at least being held by someone she (the horse) knew. Always so hard!!

Yes, he was almost 40. Good guess! He definitely lived a LONG life with lots of love and pampering in his retirement years.

I would agree with your friend. If I can't be there for mine (hopefully I still have about 20 years before thinking about that), I would want someone they know to be with them.

My videos are definitely just for fun. I'm really not great at making jazzy fancy videos, haha, but I enjoy what I do!
Yes, he was almost 40.
Sorry about the horsey. I didn't even know horses could live that long, though. Amazing, and another reason horses are kind of scary to me.

Adding 60 minutes for tonight.

Awwww! Sending you a gentle neck hug from my little mustang. He is a deeply introverted but once he trusts you he is serious hugger. He literally wraps his neck around me to hug. He causes me to break out in big belly laughs often. A sweetheart ... but only for his special persons.

Played with the mustang yesterday both on a long line and at liberty. Hmmmm, I've ignored him in favor of my big Sr., it seems. He had some attitude to show me, including showing me the underside of his hind feet a few times ... but we worked it out with persistence & patience. He got to work a bit for his antics but was never made to feel wrong. We ended quite well.

In other news, however, I've been searching for hopeful news on the reopening of Disneyland. No good news on the near horizon ... yet. The stories coming from the CMs regarding their furlough pierced my heart!

@Twilight Sparkle , so sorry about your mare - I had no idea horses lived so long!
@Elizabeth Smith - beautiful pictures!
Hope everyone's doing okay in our small worlds.
90 minutes of yoga to add today - my gym is having zoom classes!
(230/700)

Thanks, Bonnie! Technically not my horse, but he was a favorite of all of the boarders.

That's great about your gym! I wonder if that's happening all over? Smart move on their part.

Sounds like you had a fun day yesterday.

I keep searching for WDW news, too. Same. : (

We have two color changes today! BonnieF has reached Outstanding Orange, and Elizabeth Smith has moved up to Powerful Pink! Great job, both you! :tigger: :Pinkbounc :tigger: :Pinkbounc :tigger: :Pinkbounc

Our team is also inching closer to Powerful Pink! I feel another group color change will happen very soon.

By the way, has anyone seen ljcrochet around the boards? She hasn't been spotted here in awhile. Just hoping she is doing well and staying healthy!

On this day in Disney history - April 21, 1965:

The World's Fair opens in NYC for the second and final season. The fair includes Disney-created attractions for Ford, General Electric, Pepsi-Cola, and the State of Illinois.

Here's an interesting interview about the 1964-65 World's Fair, and those of you watching Imagineering on Disney+ will see some familiar faces and hear other familiar names mentioned:

And this video features the Ford Magic Skyway project mentioned in the above linked video:

If I could travel back in time, I would definitely want to attend this Fair!

Calling @ljcrochet ! (Adding a tag so it pops up as an alert?)
I'm here and healthy. With all of us home, my disboard time is less than it was, plus right now I know people are looking forward to going to disney when it reopens, i just don't see it being safe. We canceled our planned June trip. This makes 2 cancelled disney trips, 2 canceled cruises, and a cancelled trip to Utah for a soccer game. Plus all the other crap that is cancelled. I'm trying to stay upbeat for my girls while watching them struggle with school work. One of my girls is doing school work at least 12 hours a day without a break. Other girls is probably doing 10 hours.

I'm still trying to get my exercise in. I have done 560 minutes for this month.
