News Round Up 2020

I know this is "unprecedented times" .. but a little over 4 months since theatrical release and 1 month since disc release? Wow! The movie industry will be interestingly changed after all this and Disney+ will become a better value if they continue to push movies to their streaming service this soon after theatrical release.

Between this and Onward .. i think it's time to officially stop buying Disney discs (for me) (and just figure out an easy way to stream Disney+ to the screens in the car).

If only D+ could get the Spiderman movies!

I still buy the Blu-ray’s for the special features. Have been for years despite having Netflix/Hulu/Prime and now disney plus.

Don't disagree there .. (as I buy some discs still) .. so I bought Star Wars as a huge fan, though I have seen D+ have some extra features for a lot of their movies.

I am just saying some movies I just may not buy anymore. I have been buying every Pixar and Disney Animation movie since I had kids (okay .. even BEFORE kids).
Onward (even though we loved the film) is not getting bought (unless I find it at bargain bin prices) since we can watch it whenever we want with D+ for the next 2 1/2 years (and beyond if we renew). Frozen 2 may be the last Disney Animation film we buy (because .. well .. had an obsessed daughter) .. but even that feels like money I threw away just to be able to watch it like a month or so early since it is now watched via Disney+ by the 3yo.

It hurts the collector in me .. but I like the money (and space) saved not having these discs anymore.

When The Last Jedi was released, I decided I was done with media. But you are right, this is the next evolution of it. If you can be a little patient, all of Disney's content will wind up on Disney+.

Still waiting for Maleficent 2, which would have been a purchase at one point.

How do people feel about ground floor rooms? We're only doing 1 night at POFQ before switching to Shades of Green. I'm thinking ground floor may be a nice request so that my dad (who's an amputee) doesn't have to deal with stairs or the lift, but do people ever feel more "exposed" with a ground floor room?

Pretty sure I saw Maleficent 2 is coming to Disney + in May.

They didn't bump up its release so it's launching May 15 on Disney+. Which is about 7 months to the day and is usually the release window for SVOD.

7 months will make it hard to justify the digital only purchase for me. I caved with TROS, only because I couldn't wait.

2021 DCV member cruise booking delayed

Wonder if this is just the first of booking windows to get pushed back, and what booking 2021 packages for WDW will look like timing wise

I’m trying very hard to think of reasons they would do this that don’t involve them thinking they may just reschedule the entire thing and I’m struggling to do so.

could it do with things that were scheduled for 2020 getting pushed back to 2021? So until they fully know what happens to DVC stuff for 2020 they are holding off new things for 2022?

I’m trying very hard to think of reasons they would do this that don’t involve them thinking they may just reschedule the entire thing and I’m struggling to do so.

My guess is they want to hold off on releasing new things that might require significant support now that a large portion of staff are furloughed.
