I emailed on Saturday and am waiting on a response.
Keep us posted! It did take me about 10 days to get my last email response but it came!
I emailed on Saturday and am waiting on a response.
I've got 4 nights in a jambo savanna view studio booked through rented points for the beginning of december. I really don't want to stay in kidani, and especially not if jambo is closed. We specifically picked it for the christmas tree in the lobby and it was for a resort only stay. Hopefully either they're open and all is fine, or they move us to wilderness lodge or the grand floridian LOL (wishful thinking). This trip just keeps getting worse. If I could cancel I 100% would.
I don’t think you should get stressed out. The activity now is before park opening and only DVC resorts are open. Disney will get a handle on remaining reservations vs park capacity and open more resorts as needed, probably deluxe so they can keep the higher $ and so that others moved to them will consider it an upgrade. This is so annoying, had to jump thru hoops to snag AKVJ value studio for both:
Sept/Oct & day after Thanksgiving trip thru 1st Saturday in December.
will not be happy if booted for NBA nor offered “equivalent” resort if at one of the DVC offerings that we wouldn’t normally book in the first place.
We did enjoy our couple of stays at Kidani but prefer the value studio when just 2 of us to save points & prefer their pool.am booked at Jambo end of July and I think and hope it will be open. I do not want to stay at KIdani with none of the Jambo restaurants and QS available.
But can they keep DVC Jambo closed if Kidani is fully booked? During the first few weeks, probably Kidani won't sell out, but once parks will start reopening demand may increase. I don't think they can easily justify keeping Jambo closed if people cannot book the resort because everything is booked. Currently only 1BR standard is open all nights for the summer at Kidani, it won't take long to have a few nights when everything is booked.Right now, I think they have kept it closed because WDW has not opened their hotels.
IMO, as long the entire building is closed for guest stays, it is okay. It is similar to when they took value rooms out of service last year,,,someone else mentioned this,
There was no renovations going on in the DVC rooms, but no one could book them because hotel construction caused the floor to be closed,
I do not believe that Disney can give Jambo to any sports team and kick DVC out. As soon as rooms open, then DVC rooms need to open because who the guests are would not be a legal reason to kick out DVC owners.
If they do, if I was an AKV owner. I’d be on with them and ask them to provide legal justifications for it.
But, right now, Jambo rooms being inaccessible because building is closed, is probably a valid reason to displace.
I agree. I think they are keeping Jambo closed because they have lots of room at KIdani. I think they will open it with other deluxes after parks open and for rooms for reservations bumped by NBA and MLS.I’m still thinking the sports team housing is not the reason Jambo is remaining closed. I do not think they would house the NBA at Jambo. It doesn’t fit the criteria of “bubble”. Coronado seems a much better fit with the tower, varied levels of room types and ample grounds to spread out. Honestly, if I were the NBA, I would go with Gaylord Palms. It’s a mini city with a water park inside! Housing an entire pro sports league in walking distance from @ publicly occupied resort doesn’t make much sense to me. I really think rooms might be being held in anticipation of the restoration of expired points or just plain consolidating for economic reasons.

I HAD a reservation at AKV JAMBO Sept 26-29 value studio. I dropped it to pick up 3 nights at Copper Creek. I kept my Sept. 29-Oct 2 Club Level Studio.
I just dropped my CL studio Sept 29-Oct. 2 for 3 nights at Copper Creek. I had a waitlist for it but the system did not pick it up.
My CL studio is not back in the inventory because it does not show up at all.
This makes way more sense than holding Jambo for the NBA. Thanks for sharing.I posted in the other thread, but the current closure is due to the lack of actual reservations there and Kidani and it didn’t make sense to open up Jambo, especially since Disney wasn’t opening...which seem to imply DVC owners would then have to pay the full cost of running Jambo until WDW opened their hotel.
This info came from Terri to an owner who emailed. It was shared somewhere else.
It may be why SAB stayed closed, The cost is high and DVC would have had to pay it all while YC and BC are closed.
We have Jambo booked for October and have not heard anything. If there's the possibility of it being closed I hope they notify us soon because airfare was booked months ago. If they need to move us then it might be ok, but I don't want it to be just anywhere, sorry I'm not a big fan of SSR or OKW (even though we own at OKW...). We're also booked for this July at Kidani and don't expect to hear anything about that one.

We switched today too and had the same experience. Unfortunately the new booking cost more points and we had to reduce a night from our stay. We are quite disappointed to not be staying at AKV now since we are new DVCers and it is our home resort, but I didn’t want to have to deal with the unknown and have no say as to where we would be moved to. I emailed MS about it days ago and am not surprised that I’ve received no response. If it’s all because of the NBA I am going to be irate .We just switched a Sept reservation at Jambo to Kidani. The Jambo room went straight to being unavailable. We didn’t want to deal with the unknown, but we still got a savannah studio and those views are better at Kidani (from what I hear)
what are your dates? I have been stalking and for our dates 24-30th there has not been anythingWe just switched a Sept reservation at Jambo to Kidani.
