I'm a flip flop lover too. I live in So Cal so I can wear them pretty much all year but when its really cold. I wear slip on sketcher type shoes or I have some really comfortable ankle boots.

@Meriweather are those earth origins? I got a pair of those for when I went to Italy last year and they were so comfy. The second pair I got just didn't feel the same. 👎

Ryka .......made for women. I have a pair of their athletic shoes too and some slip ons.

I am one of the few females who HATES shoe shopping. I collect winter and spring coats / jackets instead. When I do buy shoes they often cost me $80+
New balance running shoes, Taos sandals have great support for all day wearing.
Clark’s dress shoes .....granted it maybe due to my size 11 narrow. Which you can’t find at most stores.

I want to THANK 💐 the poster who mentioned the crimson lake mysteries by Candice Fox. The topics are a little serious, but I love all the characters

I, too, prefer no shoes if I can get away with it. LOL DH has more pairs of shoes than I do, at this point. I own...2 pairs of Sketcher Go Walks, 2 pairs of Sanuk Yoga Mat Sandals, and a pair of 'dressy' sandals (also squishy mat type). :rotfl2: I do need to get another pair of dress shoes, either a pair of flats or a low heel (can't do high heels anymore, with my ankles/knees) but I'm kind of picky about how they feel. I mean, if I'm going to be forced to wear shoes, I want to be comfy.

Let's see, today I'm doing the bedding, took out trash from the weekend, and making hamburgers, fries and veg for dinner. DD#2 and DGS#2 are in Jax, at her friends house; just have to wait 2 weeks to see them. (overly cautious, I am; they did wear their masks on the plane).

Cute.....can't remember if I posted a picture of my grandson when he had a mask on. I was so surprised he kept it on.....I think using the tablet helped!! :rotfl:

Ugh....I'm not feeling well today. Hubby is working from home today and has been on meeting calls almost all day so I have an excuse to hide out in bed under the blankets "not to disturb him".:o Its been really cold and windy here so I'm not sure if its my allergies from all the dust blowing around or just everything going on getting to me.....I've been reading too many things I probably should just be avoiding right now so I'm sure that's not helping. I don't know if I mentioned it before but I'm an anxious person during good times so I've been a mess since March... I did a 15 minute guided meditation when I first came to lay down, which helped calm me some but my tummy is in knots and I can just feel the tension all over, I actually feel achy from it. Hope I'm not getting sick....:sad2:

Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope you recover quickly! :grouphug:

Hi all,
Sorry I'm missing. My brother in law is sick and my sister in law needs help with the kids. So I'm up at her house with her (8.5 months pregnant) and 4.5 year old girl, 2 year old twins and my husband took my BIL back to our house for the week or more. I spent the first few days sanitizing everything and cleaning the kids toys. My SIL doesn't cook that much either so I'm trying to prep meals and stock the kitchen because I'm not going to the grocery store every day. Normally they have the grandparents here taking care of the kids while they are working (SIL working from home and BIL working in city) but as they are in the at risk age group and the kids can be germ factories they are all staying home this week. So much chaos and noise I'm not used to it but it's okay we will get through it.

On another note I am FREAKING out!! Like I started crying when I heard. The administrator called from my mom's nursing home and there are 3 possible cases in her home with mixture of staff and residents. I'm trying to keep calm and my mom doesn't know anything. They are planning to test everyone by the end of the month if not sooner. Really trying not freak out but so hard. All I can do is keep praying at this point.

I'm sorry I wont be around that much but will try to get back when I can. Between the kids and trying to help up here and worrying about my mama and hoping my Matt doesn't get anything, I am hot mess worrying. There might not be enough chocolate or alcohol for all of this.

I saw Pea's question. I LOVE shoes and have plenty of them. I just bought some cute walking comfortable shoes DSW that is Earth Origins. They are so comfortable. My second pair. I wore through my last pair through the grand canyon and several other walking trails (I don't "hike') Great support for pads of the feet and the arch (mine super high). I also love my Clarks. I have all kinds. My favorite is barefoot. I am from Arkansas you know LOL.

Lovemygoofy-
Take care of yourself, too! All those kids sounds like a house & handful!!! How nice for your in-laws to have you to help-hope your BIL is feeling better soon.
Sending good thoughts your way for your mother’s safety as well.

beautiful day on the farm here today- someone asked about gardening? Aside from crop on our farm (We rent out the land/crop) we have a decent sized personal garden w/ squash, various tomatoes, artichokes, peppers, eggplant, beans and both sweet & Indian corn. Plus giant pumpkins, jack o lantern pumpkins, and two kinds of ornamental gourds. Plus some herbs-
And a strawberry patch that is new this year, a few pear & peach trees-
dinner tonight is make your-own pizza w/ tortilla chips and fresh salsa

:grouphug: and much prayer Tina! Please take care! Know we are praying for you! We will indeed keep this thread going. Please just know how much we all care! Prayer also for your Mom, all the kiddos, including one soon to be born :)

Hugs, to you, AuntieMe3, feel better and get some rest! One of the most positive things for me about this time has been being more restful and taking better care.

It's been quite warm here today. 84 now. 90 tomorrow. So grateful to God for A/C's! It's that un-lovely time of month for me so not feeling 100% but most thankful to have gotten some rest this afternoon and good overall sleep last night.

Other Monday gratitude:

Kind email from one friend and a card from another.
Cool air right now coming in from the living room window.
A nice post office worker my Dad told me about and a mailman just now who I thanked for today's mail.

To everyone, Should we take turns asking the daily question? I think someone should just ask away each day :)

Oh my gosh, Tina - huge ((hugs)) and please don't apologize/worry about us!

We'll keep things running here, and we'll all be keeping you and your family in our thoughts and/or prayers!!

Tina, I was going to say exactly the same thing, but PollyannaMom beat me to it. Take care of yourself and your family. Don't worry about your DIS family, we'll still be here when you have time to breathe again!--Lynn :grouphug: :grouphug:

Do you live in my neck of the woods flyingdumbo127? (Western MD here). We are at 84 now also, and calling for 90's the next 2 days. I too am grateful for air conditioning! I am also grateful that all of the 'un-lovely times of the month' are well behind me! I feel for you though!

Grateful today that they didn't ask my husband to go into the office for his annual physical, and rescheduled it for July
Nice breeze coming in thru the windows here too
My mail carrier who kindly brings all my pkgs (and mail when there is some on pkg days) to the back door instead of my walking across the street to get them..she's such a sweetheart
Our 16 year old grandson just got his 1'st job at McDonald's. He had orientation today and will be starting in a few days.

I agree about the question of the day. Will try and rack my old brain to come up with some!

Well, we're in the 90s for now.....that is the low for the summer. We'll be over 100 for months.

Since I don't think I posted that picture of DGS, I just have too. Sooooo cute! He is 3 and was at the doctor's for a well visit.
He did get a buzz cut to get through these times at home. His hair grows fast!

Congratulations to your grandson, Lynxstch! Exciting for him and I will pray all goes well and for his safety, too :) Thanks for sharing some extra good news with us today. I live in sunny SoCal. I am grateful beyond to God for my health so no real complaints. However, as all you lovely ladies know, this is no fun each month! :P

((huggles))

You take care of your family; we'll be here whenever you need us. If you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to vent to or anything, feel free to PM me.

I can't keep up with you all these days.

Today the church camp where DD camped for 9 summers. worked for 7 summers, and met her DH, started allowing limited use by reservation because they had to suspend the summer camp season. I went down and met DD and her family. It is right on the Chester River (Camp Pecometh for Easyas123) and a beautiful day today. We packed lunch and ate there and enjoyed the beauty. I don't know how to add photos here or I would.

All came back here for a cook out and strawberry shortcake. I had made deviled eggs last night and pasta salad this morning. The way I make shortcake is how my MIL did - biscuits made with sugar added, warm homemade vanilla custard, and strawberries. Labor intensive but so good.

@lovemygoofy , {{hugs}}, you have a lot on your plate. Breath.

@AuntieMe3 , I hope you can find some peace and comfort.

I will step in tonight for Tina to ask a question:

What are your favorite types of shoes to wear?
I am a flip flop girl too. I hate wearing socks and only do in the winter when it is cold. The rest of my shoes are mostly Keens.

No shoes :D Just socks around the house.
That is one thing I cannot do, wear socks around the house!
I am with Pea-n-Me. And the physical therapist in me finds this totally a fall risk. I would never let my patients do this. LOL

Gratitudes:
DS got home at the normal time today - no overtime.
Beautiful day at camp.
Family time.
