Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

The initial tweet fueling this speculation said 12PM PST, I hope this was an innocent error and not a fake tweet, as it should be 12pm PDT. Wow, my paranoia and anxiety are really off the charts....

We have the 16th-19th booked at the DGC. Fingers crossed Sebastian says..."I bring good news."...your Disney Vacation will begin moving immediately....

I would check to see if that reservation is still active. DVC has cancelled my reservations for 7/14-7/15 and 7/15-7/17. I made another for just the night of 7/16 and it is still there today, but I am kind of expecting to see if cancelled too.

Anyone feeling the same sort of anticipation we used to get each morning on the ROTR thread?

Yes! Even if we don't hear anything today, I'm feeling very hopeful we will soon!

I was just talking to my friends about ROTR last night when I told them we were hoping to go in September and they were like 'hey, this might mean you get to ride that more than once so it's worth it!' couldn't agree more! lol!

I'm hoping we get news soon. The fact that other parks in the area are reopening, Disneyland has to reopen too, right? I'm just so impatient at this point. I want news now! haha

I moved it from the 14th to the 15th to the 16th to keep it from being canceled so I think I'm ok with the current window. We also have a back up reservation of the 26-29th . Our next DVC stay isn't until October.
Thank you

So, apparently the OC Health Director and the City of Anaheim will be giving an update on Friday regarding theme parks. I wouldn't hold my breath on an announcement from Disney today.

I *heard* that Disneyland was cleared to open by the state, but the county and city have not yet officially approved it.
Do you have a source? This makes me so excited!!!!!

It was stated on Twitter by someone who (supposedly) works in local government.* I can't remember where I saw it now. I was scrolling through posts about the recent OC Board of supervisors meeting looking for information about when we can expect pools to reopen.

*So, take with a huge grain of salt.

I hope we get news soon! I would imagine with Universal making more defined plans that would help nudge Disney to at least announce something. Just give us something, anything! I might go ahead and just book my (refundable) flight for September regardless. I think by then I can safely assume it will be open.

The OC Health Director, Dr. Quick, resigned this week. Perhaps that’s delayed announcements for the county:

Who gets the blame if major new outbreaks come as California reopens?

Woah! That's wild. Our county (i'm in Colorado) has made masks required since this all started and while some people have grumbled... it was nothing like that.

This lays bare what any native Californian already inherently knows - that north and south are culturally, politically, and geographically, two completely different states. Three if you count the Central Valley's uniqueness, four if you count State of Jefferson.

For those wanting DL to reopen sooner, be glad it's in Orange County and not Santa Clara County.

I'm in Santa Clara County and there is very little pushback/dissent over the stay at home orders and mask requirements.
