Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I am still holding a YC
7/31-8/8 GV not paid in full yet.
Still awaiting any word fro Disney about where we will be moved to 🤷‍♀️
Its a package with 9 day hoppers .
So I will book reservations Monday but sure would have preferred to know whether to book more EPCOT and HS vs MK due to location
8/3-8/8 at YC - I wonder if there is any hope that we will get word on our resort change by Monday?

who knows. maybe the teams will go into YC by convention entrance and have 'backdoor' access to their floors. so regular guests on lower floors? Left hand side of lobby could be curtained off giving teams freedom to wonder a chunk of YC without outside guests. Ale and Compass, pool walkway, game area, main pool entrance, etc would all be restricted.

it could be CL related. if you just have GV. We are CL and I assume NBA definitely taking that floor.
The NBA must have more than just the CL floor. We stayed YC CL last summer. Unless there is a way to exit other than the main elevators, I can't even imagine them walking through the lobby with regular folks like me.

actually you are correct! Forgot the skyliner which DS loves and we ride numerous times a trip. Plus, F and W (although you need a park reservation so not like can just pop in like we normally would). BUT, not sure if monorail open, or the boats at Poly. AND I read somewhere - either a Disney post or a reliable gossip site- that resorts will be limited to guests and you will need to show proof of restaurant reservation to gain access to a hotel. So can't take a 2 hour trip to get a cupcake at the GF (I am being serious) or food from the CR.

This is getting worse by the second. Plus, the review I saw of Poly CL they did not have a warm food option like YC and BC other than oatmeal.

Sorry I'm hijacking the YC/BC thread here. I'll start posting on Poly thread.

So sorry this has happened to you (and others).

Feel free to keep posting here, for whatever reason- with info or even just to rant!

I hope whatever your trip ends up looking like, you and your family have a great time.

:goodvibes

Posted at the same time! Is there some back entrance to CL? We were super close to the elevator. I didn't venture down the hall.

this is an employee elevator for certain and an employee access way to 'backstage.'
A lot of celebrities are fine going through kitchens and back entrances for security reasons. same with some sports teams.

One stay they had moved the bus over to the convention entrance and it is very nicely done. Would be the perfect solution. There has to be an elevator there as well that is either off limits or for special use. They will definitely be using the space for the teams gyms, team meetings, etc. The more I think this out the more it makes sense. And would keep the players in a bubble.

agree would need more than one floor though and the bubble would exclude outside guests.

There is not. Except service elevators in the supply room. Pretty sure NB at’s aren’t taking those. But there are not enough rooms on the 5th floor for all those NBA teams. They will get the whole resort.

we live in downtown chicago. A list celebrities and teams stay at nearby hotels. They regularly use the service areas. Avoid fans, added security and photographers.

Granted, I don't consider NBA players (at least not all) A list.

Every 5 seconds I am refreshing my MDE on my computer and my phone app - just in case. . .

Really getting antsy wondering where we will be.

Although I was ready to accept not park hopping it occurs to me that we got the 3-day PH+ tickets so that we could go to one (or both) of the water parks and now a 3-day single-park ticket won't cover that :( (Because we want to do MK, DHS and Epcot more than we want to do a water park). If SAB was available I could live with it but it seems like that won't be open for our trip...so what's the most cost-effective way to add 1 day for a water park?

Alternatively we could save ourselves the headache and just go to Volcano Bay on arrival day - no reservations necessary, tickets on sale now...and a weekend at UO pre-Disney was still an option on the table.

*sigh* What to do, what to do.

Based on an article I read: there will be six teams staying at Yacht Club. Each team can bring 35 staffers and 17 players. They are trying to make it a COVID-free bubble. I have not read anything to indicate that the general public will be allowed to stay in the same hotels. I have not seen anything from Disney, just articles and tweets from bloggers.

With the COVID numbers going up in Florida, things could change. I just wanted to mention that this thread is the only place I have seen people speculating about the general public staying in same hotels as players, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Here’s one article: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/06/17/inside-nbas-health-plan-safely-hold-games-disney-world-bubble/?outputType=amp

The NBA will be in the entire hotel. There are six teams with all their support staff & coaches billeted at the YC/BC... approximately seventy people per team. YC has 621 rooms... BC has 576 rooms should they require more rooms
