I actually think the general public will NOT be allowed. I was just speculating if it were to happen. My guess is that YC will be completely closed to guests through Labor Day as well as SAB. Think the last round one game is Aug. 30 which means some may still be there Sept 1 and then families can all join in the fun at some point. I don't even think they'll move the teams to GDT (I saw that on twitter from the guy who broke the hotel news, speculating that may happen. it was then picked up by the media). I read Disney (think in WSJ) is doing this to lure more NBA special events in the future. They will cater to their every desire if that's the case. Including their families. Just like us, they will want SAB and proximity to parks. Unless of course, they are so pampered, the families get VIP transport to the back entrances of the parks every time they go in....Based on an article I read: there will be six teams staying at Yacht Club. Each team can bring 35 staffers and 17 players. They are trying to make it a COVID-free bubble. I have not read anything to indicate that the general public will be allowed to stay in the same hotels. I have not seen anything from Disney, just articles and tweets from bloggers.
With the COVID numbers going up in Florida, things could change. I just wanted to mention that this thread is the only place I have seen people speculating about the general public staying in same hotels as players, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
