Resort Change by Disney

Make sure that you are not modifying anything and ask to be transferred to Guest Services or the Special Team.

I called about my YC reservation this morning and was charged to change resorts. After reading here and thinking about it, I called back and talked to someone much more informed. Now, I am holding for Guest Services.

We shall see!
They tried to charge me for contemporary. I said no due to my resort closed , BCV no feature pool.
I said all I want is something comparable .
I want two queen beds and a feature pool. Came back with CR GV no charge ! Keep trying you will get it .
 
Yes, you will be charged rack rate at the hotel you choose. I was on the phone with a Castmember this morning, and was told that the moves by Disney are no longer taking place.
My dilemna is that if I cancel my July 9-12 reservation at Caribbean Beach, I may lose my reservation to the park that I got this morning for July 11.
This was not true for me. As long as I was willing to move into the same resort category, they did not charge me the higher price. In fact, one of my stays was actually less. And the reservations I made at the parks were still there after the change in resort.

This doesn't seem to be true. While I think a lot of CMs are tying to have people select an open resort and then tell them the price difference, thankfully we have had several reports of people being moved at no cost. But it seems the people that are being moved at no cost are the ones that were transferred to Guest Services.

That your resort isn't open and you want to know what disney is going to do about your reservation. If they try to charge you, ask to be transferred to GS.

I would just say something along the lines of "I found out yesterday that my resort will not be open for dates I booked. Can you please tell me where I will be moved to?" Or "I would like to to speak to Guest Services or the Special Team to find out where I will be moved to."

I wouldn't even play dumb at this point. Don't let the first CM tell you that you need to pick a new resort, or re-book for the same dates. None of it because we now know that isn't the case.

I am booked at ________________ resort. It is not open for my dates. I was told from multiple sources that Disney instructed me to call today to find out what Disney plans to do with my reservation. Can you help me?

They want to charge you - tell them you need to speak with guest services and that you are willing to wait as long as needed.
 
I was on hold for almost 2 1/2 hours. A very nice CM picked up and went to transfer me to guest service and the phone cut off 😭
We are having thunderstorms and I got cut off when I finally got through. I feel your pain. Waiting now for guest services and another storm is rolling thourgh. HELP!!!

I cannot begin to tell you how many times this has happened to me over the past year. What is up with their phone system that they can't simply transfer someone without disconnecting them? It always happens during a high volume time. So sorry!

Man, I want to try again. My CM said because I'm a "Deluxe Gal" she kept pushing me to pay more to go to CR Garden Wing when I had already said I'm not paying more. I should've been more patient, but with everyone modifying (or trying to modify) today and my park reservations done, I just wanted a resort reservation settled.

Same. I'm not even sure it's ever going to actually connect me to guest services. My phone says 4:08:56. I was transferred to guest services by a reservation CM at 2:33:00. :(

Same here... I was transferred around 2:28:some seconds... and now at 4:04:47...
I tried calling the guest service line from my daughter's cell, but busy signal or can't get call through.... Still holding... figure I may need another 2 1/2 hours to get through.

I'm at a little over 3 hours with no music for at least an hour. The original line hasn't even been picked up for me to get in the Guest Services line.
