NBA at Walt Disney World

I don't think it's a big deal. We have 1000s of protesters in close quarters and nothing has happened.

If they have a true bubble then they will be fine.

But they're saying it won't be a true bubble, not with Disney Employees coming and going.

My concern is what will the NBA do when players start testing positive again. They shut it down immediately the first time. Will they be more lenient of a few positive tests this time?

NBA should just higher there own maids, cooks etc in the bubble. Shouldn't be that hard, they have plenty of money.

I think they will isolate when they can. Seems to be working fine in Germany and England with the soccer.

I’m pretty sure the unions who handle all the various jobs at the resorts would not allow that to happen, I doubt it is a matter of money in this case.

NBA/Disney can pay those union workers to do something at a different Disney resort or just get paid to do nothing.

Wont happen. I dont even think they will start and Disney will remain led closed. To much of an influx of new cases.

I love basketball, but I think it will be shut down before it ever starts. Teams will start showing up to camps next week and I'm sure we will see a team or a few have positive cases, or we will see a Disney staff infect a team and the NBA will shut it down. Simular to what we are seeing in baseball and football.

why haven't we seen that in soccer?

Soccer is doing fine.

I had wondered about the CM's servicing the "bubble" facilities; definitely a weak link in the barrier. I can't help but think that they should be able to get plenty of hospitality CMs who would volunteer to live in the least desirable rooms in the resort at NBA expense for a couple of weeks at a time; rather like the factory workers who locked themselves into a plant to work on PPE materials a couple of months ago. (They locked themselves in for 14 days and worked double shifts for that time, and then switched out with a new crew who had been self-quarantining at home for a week.) It would be a bit like hiring a cruise line crew.

Come to think of it, they could probably bus them in, and put them up at the apartment complexes they maintain for the international CP program kids, which are sitting empty right now. That would put them in full apartments with kitchens. and a few amenities as well. It would be a nice option for single CM's who want to bank some cash and are willing to put themselves inside a bubble for a while to earn it. I think it would make sense for the NBA and Disney to subsidize the rent for them to insure the seal on the bubble.

Soccer is doing fine.

Several teams have players that have tested positive. They are being isolated and will be retested. So we'll see if the isolation procedures give everybody a clean bill of health beforer going to orlando but I wouldn't say they are fine since there are positive cases being seen.
