The move right now seems to be Kidani...the problem is that if Jambo is closed...and it appears it will be...you are going to have to decide whether to accept a move or use more points for a place other than where they send you.

Typically, it seems like people moved without having to spend their own points have to accept what is offered.

It is a very difficult position you are in because once you get there, options are going to be limited vs. calling.

I can see them moving to Kidani since it is considered the same resort. Can they move DVC members to another resort altogether, like SSR or OKW?

Not really sure because they said that Jambo was closed due to room at Kidani...but, then again, if a room is out of service, they move you so if no GVs are available, then you will be put somewhere else that has one.

A week ago is was opening and then 4 days ago it was removed from the Disney site but not DVC...so it is very odd.

If it were me, I’d rather work it out before I went...but, if there is time to see what happens on the 10th...can’t remember your dates...wait until at least then.

We check in on July 25. We are going to wait another week. If we can’t get it resolved before we go, it is just one more check mark on the “don’t go” list. Just not sure how we would use that many points since we are limited to school schedule and they have to be used by June 1.

I wonder how this compares to the other resorts right now, especially ones with more than one available to spread out.

IDK Under normal circumstances would say the pool was ‘dead’.

For what it's worth...I talked to MS today with a question, and said "hopefully Jambo will be open when I go". She said it was supposed to be opening July 10. Different than the MS I have talked to in the last week, who said they don't have an opening date. But she seemed to be not very knowledgeable based on her responses to my questions, so maybe she is just reading the website which still says July 10.

You will probably get a call in a few days. I got my call 5 days before my trip.

I got called on Sunday and I check in on the 9th, had a 1 bedroom Value and they moved me to a 2 bedroom standard at Kidani

I am waiting to see if they proactively move anyone checking in July 10 or later, since their website says Jambo DVC opens July 10.

ETA: I think they may have figured out that people were booking value studios, getting moved to Kidani which freed up value studios on the system for more people to book, starting the whole cycle again. I hope that you can keep your value studio at Jambo, even though odds may be against it!

Checked in to Kidani today after be displaced from Jambo. Booked a Jambo value, but they gave a significant upgrade due to the lack of reservations.

We just checked in and they gave us a 1 bedroom standard view. I told the cm I have a reservation for 7/10 at Jambo and asked if she knew if it was going to be open than. She said that's the plan and that she hasn't heard of any other news saying otherwise.
