I'm only a little concerned. I would love it if the wait times were like what I read about in August, but I'm a realist, it can't stay that way and have the parks remain open. Economics don't work that way. I think it really goes towards expectations, and we're working hard to manage those for our upcoming trips. We eat out here at home, and are used to wearing masks when we aren't at the house. WDW and Uni probably aren't as bad as Walmart in town at 6 on a week night.
We have a split trip planned for 12/13-12/18 for me, the kids & BIL. Our 2 kids and I will feel a little bc of the lack of FP, but the GF has never been and BIL hasn't been since before the paper FP. As far as they are concerned, it will be a more magical version of Kings Island - we typically wait 30-40 min to ride the rides there, so waiting an hour at MK or HS shouldn't hurt too much. I have no problems staying later if it means the lines are shorter, and for sure my kids are thrilled that I wont be waking them at 6:15 to be at an 8am rope drop. We arrive on Sun and leave on Fri, so we'll miss most of the weekend crowds. I just really, really hope to get on ROTR this trip, bc 2 of the peeps are real SW nerds, and I know they would love it.
Dh and are doing a split trip in late Jan, and I'm even less concerned for that trip. I'm thinking Jan will be less crowded, and we will be more flexible since we have been to WDW more recently than our kids. This trip is really more for Uni, but we'll spend at least one day at MK, bc it's my fave. My only regret is that when we planned this trip, we were doing Uni and planned a DAH at MK, with tea at GF. No DAH, so maybe no 7DMT, which stinks, and I'm not sure GF will be doing tea yet. But we'll adapt. We need the time away, and it's going to be magical just to be away from home.
