So 6,000 SW RR posted to DH's account today, they are labeled "action based". His anniversary is 11/23, but don't anniversary points usually post to the statement. Did that change recently?
That would be some type of SW promo. The anniversary points still come as credit card after statement close. Did you get the 30% points or 5x flights promo (or something else?) that ended in September?

Happy early Thanksgiving! No news on the credit card front. I recently applied for another bank bonus, but app was denied, letter said they could not confirm identity so I should look into a different one or I could reapply in about 30 days. The id confirming questions at times can be tricky. In this weird year, wishing everyone a very happy and healthy holiday. I know for many of us it will be a different celebration, trying to find a silver lining, I won't be working this year on the holiday. Special thoughts for everyone who is an essential worker, I know burnout and fatigue has been very difficult lately for all of us. Virtual hugs!

The 30% promo posted a few days before. Can’t think of any other promotions. Won’t complain about the extra points.

for CSR- did you mention any offers? or did they?
I called the number on the back of the card, like @palhockeymomof2 did, and said I'd had the card for a while and I knew the AF was coming up in the next few months. I was thinking of downgrading the card unless there was any reason that would encourage me to hold onto it. The rep transferred me to the retention department, and I said the same thing, and after reminding me that the $300 travel credit could be used for groceries and gas, he said they could give me a $150 statement credit if I kept the card. I agreed, and said I had other Chase cards and could he check if I had any offers on any of those. And he checked and said there was a $50 offer on the Marriott so I took that too. Good luck if you decide to give it a shot.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone... hosting DH's parents tomorrow and that is all. Will be weird not seeing my folks but didn't want to mix too many households.

We adopted a kitten 3 weeks ago and he is chaos and so fun. Other than that, things have been boring... trying to find something to buy on the Black Friday sales and literally nothing is appealing. Such a weird year...

Southwest may be an option. We have flown Southwest before and liked having a direct flight. At one point, I started looking into the SW companion pass, but then the pandemic hit and I was too busy with everything to even look into it.

it’s a party of 5. Me, DH, and three kids, all age 12.

I use my Chase URs and transfer them to SW as needed. I have the CSP, CFU and CFF. I transfer all CFU and CFF points to the CSP and keep them there. Then, when I book a SW flight I transfer from the CSP to SW.

Happy Thanksgiving to All!!
. .
We are cooking at home today, and I made a scrumptious Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie yesterday. It's half gone already as we had a couple of slices and then shared some with my neighbor.

And, I found a Family Dollar near by yesterday. Didn't know we had one, but the local full service was too crowded for me so I was skipping it and saw FD had a new store while driving by. It had the item I wanted and only had about 3 other customers. Hope it survives.

Happy Thanksgiving All

sitting at the airport ISP flying SW to MCO to be with our son for Thanksgiving, he is cooking dinner in our villa.

We are staying at Marriott Royal Palm until 12/4, then BWV for 2 nights to use up our 70 DVC points that expire 3/31. We plan on going to the parks but probably will avoid them until Monday due to the holiday crowds, plus the weather is going to be in the 80’s this weekend so I will enjoy the pool while the boys golf.

adding 30 people on our flight...and DH insisted on sitting in the front :confused3 while the back of the plane is empty....I should of gone back there without him

Happy Thanksgiving all, or Thanksgiving 2.0 for me. My family celebrated Thanksgiving with my wife's family at a wonderful mountain cabin in Estes Park, CO. The kids' second airplane trip and the first time they've ever seen mountains. It was so nice to get away from things for just a few days and enjoy some relaxing nature. I'm always amazed at how fast the weather can change in places like that. We were in CO Springs last Thursday and it was 75 and sunny, my SIL and her family were there Tuesday and it was 35 with 8" of snow on the ground.
(SIGH) ok dumb question of the week..... if someone has (unbelievably) app'ed for a store card....(my DS went shopping for pants at Kohls yesterday, came home with this bit of news for me :sad2: ) How long must he now wait to app for the Flex? I was talking to him about getting the Flex in the a.m.(mostly for the phone coverage) he'd app'ed for CSP but denied (prob for good reason, he's young still and not enough income) was waiting the full 31 days beyond the CSP app.... now there's this store card pull (he's not 5/24 or anything)
The Kohl's card is actually worthwhile, it's one of three store cards I hold and it has saved me a couple hundred dollars this year. I would go ahead and app for the Flex right away, you would want to do it before the Kohl's card hits his report, which with CapOne could be anytime.
Has anyone heard of/shopped at a store called At Home? Looks like it's decor and furniture. Saw one that's not close enough to just drop by but close enough to go to. Curious since their prices look low for stuff if the quality is any good or if it was just the christmas items I was looking at that are cheap.
I think it's ok, I'm not that into home decorating but my wife could easily spend way too much money there. The things we've bought seem to have held up well.
I'm not sure where it falls under but in desperation, I've also used it to purchase a mile multiplier and had it credit several times. My son is the only one who has flown this year and I figured I might as well try and boost his miles and it worked. I like the idea of the lounge day passes with whatever I have left especially if they are transferable as @Judique is wondering.
Delta is no longer selling lounge passes, no idea about United or American. My understanding is that EBCI does not count on SW if purchased with the ticket but it has been working if purchased separately. Buying upgraded boarding at the gate would also work.

Go sit where you're comfortable! He can sit alone.

Happy thanksgiving! We’re staying home just the 3 of us. We went to the beach yesterday because ds turned 7 months and we really don’t go enough considering how close we are. Today we’re gonna swim and attempt to cook lol. It’s kind of a pain with a baby who wants attention all day. We had plane tickets for Christmas and decided we aren’t going so I’m pretty bummed. It’ll be my first Christmas without my parents.

it’s socially distanced up here too...no one in front, behind or next to us...just would of been way more spread out in the back.
We haven’t flown since COVID,and I love SW but the gate attendant didn’t do a good job of explaining the boarding process....that was a mess of people, but your not near anyone for long

Love :flower: the pictures,
:( Sad you will miss your family for Christmas.

Has anyone gotten a retention offer from AMEX through Chat? AF just posted on Marriott Biz. Since it is on DH's account, would be good if I can get something through chat if possible.

Happy Thanksgiving! Turkey is already in the oven. Yesterday we put together the stuffing, made apple dumplings and for the first time homemade dinner rolls. I was quite surprised how well the rolls came out. That leaves turkey, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole for today. Just the 3 of us so plenty of leftovers (yum). I also made bagels earlier in the week. I haven't seen yeast lately at the store. I hope I don't run out before it is back in stock.

Spent earlier in the week decorating the house. I decorated my home office since I decided I am not going back in the office until January at the earliest. I only go in once a week anyway so not a big change. I figured if I am in the home office 5 days a week 8 hours, I want it to be festive!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Since we were just on packed airplanes we are forgoing dinner with my parents (they are about 5 miles from here) due to their age and higher risk groups. Our kids are all with their respective other parents so we are here doing nothing today. Might go for a ride later this afternoon.

I realized something silly as we were coming home from the airport: For a trip that had "free" (airfare paid for with points; could have used ME and Disney busses/Skyliner) transportation, I still spent over $500 on cars/parking stuff! I am so silly.

Decisions.... H&D are having a black friday sale now. The pears are on sale + 10% at Rakuten + 10% on my Marriott Biz. That makes them 31% off. Seems like a good deal. Not sure if I want to wait until CM to see if something better is out there. Maybe I'll buy one box today and then if it gets better, I'll have to buy another box :D
