Thanks everyone! I couldn't get a boarding group, but they learned from the 7 AM slot and got a BG at 1! They are BG 97. It says they board in 80 minutes, which is in the middle of light saber build. Should they talk to Savi's people?

Refresh method is probably the worst method to try to get the boarding pass. I am not even sure why so many suggest it over in other groups or YT videos. Specifically, these days, when we are talking about boarding groups gone in 3 seconds or under. You will never be able to get exactly the same time lapse between pulling down to refresh and the server completing your request to render the Join button at 7 am. The most reliable is AT-AT. Even Join Virtual Queue method, so long as you are not refreshing there, is better than manual refresh. It is already designed to auto-refresh to bring up the Join button, when you get to the second Join at 7 am or 1 pm.

I use an Android and when I hit Join from At At the next page basically does a refresh (it "loads" basically the same way as a refresh, with the screen jumping up at the end of processing). And then sometimes even that isn't enough time for the Join to appear there and I have to refresh anyway.

I've been successful in all my practice runs, but I figure if joining from At At is going to cause a "refresh" anyway, I'd prefer to be the one forcing it so I refresh from the attraction screen. It also "feels" quicker for me with refresh option (tho I've not timed it).

They will have an hour to get to their BG once their number is called but it probably couldn't help to mention it at Savi's and see what they recommend.

Yes but this ONLY works for those who have already entered the park and left. A guest with a park reservation cannot get a 1pm BG unless they have already tapped into DHS at some point that day.

I tested this and it's true. I knew I wouldn't get one, but just tried anyway while sitting on the beach. Was just going to HS for the evening. I got the not in park message, so would have been successful had I checked into the park.

I did try for real in the morning, but was foiled by the ride description popping up when I tried to click join. All around fun day... Haha. Jk. We rode a couple days before, so I wasn't too disappointed.

Maybe I spoke too strongly against the Refresh method, since I now realize that it seems to be polarizing. I have an Android too, and have a almost perfect record with AT-AT and Join Virtual Queue. I guess I can try the Refresh to just see what happens during practice. But on actual park day, I won't rely on it for myself, just as you are comfortable with what has been working well for you.

Ah, ok, because I tried practicing today and I got a screen saying I needed to be in the park to join and I was confused about that, but since I never tapped in (because I’m in California haha) that would make sense. Thanks!

If you are practicing from home and get to the screen saying you needed to be in the park you would have been successful! Congrats!

I guess I can try the Refresh to just see what happens during practice. But on actual park day, I won't rely on it for myself, just as you are comfortable with what has been working well for you.

There is no reason to actually use the pull-down refresh. Just navigate to the My Queues screen and wait for -5 seconds before counting down BG time at 7 or 1 and hit Giant "Join Virtual Queue" button. Try it you will like it or not.

The pull-down refresh method generates unnecessary network traffic between your device and the MDE Servers which slows the process for all guests attempting to get a BG.

What am I doing wrong?

I tried yesterday from the join virtual queue and was unsuccessful. I was refreshing until Join pulled up and then selected the people in my group. Too late. Read a lot here and saw my mistakes.

Today I tried from the At-At screen. It took sweet forever for the "Select party" page to load. I hit "Select all" and moved on. Again, too late. It really couldn't have been more than 4 seconds. I assume it was the loading of the F&F page?

Any tips? We are going on Monday, so I know it will be busy. We plan to be in HS all day, so I can try again at 1, but since I've yet to be successful.....

Also, I created profiles for my parents when they came with us on our last trip. I cannot remove them from Friends and Family (no idea why), but they will not be on this trip. If I select "all" for my party, will they just not get BG since they don't have park admissions on that day? It's obviously faster to select everyone, but I don't want that to screw up the system and kick us out.

The app appeared to be glitching today as well. I failed for the first time in awhile for a BG, and I couldn’t book ADRs. I am on hold now but there’s a 45 minute wait time already, I’m assuming because lots of people are having issues. Really sucks.

Had another successful trial this morning. And I also tried tapping somewhere besides the button (for science) and no matter where I tapped it didn’t take you to ride info. So they obviously fixed that design flaw which is great as that was the cause of 1 of my 2 failures.

Just another data point, but I did not get in just now either while practicing from home. (Used time.gov on another device, clicked Join at the stroke of 7. iPhone 8 on cellular data.) I chalked it up to increased crowds heading into next week?

The bolded part is what you're doing wrong. Don't stop to select your party or even select all. Just click Join Join Join. The people with park passes for that day will automatically be selected.

Another successful practice today for me. Used time.gov on another phone for the countdown. I am curious though if there’s anything better/more accurate than using time.gov in a browser?

Wondering which would be better - DH & I will only have our 2 iPhones (I have an 8, he has a 12 if that matters) with us on the trip. No iPads and I don't really want to have to bring my laptop. Do you think we should BOTH be trying to get a boarding group by just hitting "Join" right as the phone clocks hit 7AM OR should we use 1 phone to have Time.gov pulled up and try to join with the 2nd phone?

I've been pretty successful with just my phone and using the phone clock, but I always figured 2 people trying to join would be better. Any thoughts?
