Got my 2nd Pfizer shot on Sat......had heard some horror stories about after effects of 2nd shot, but thankfully only experienced some arm soreness, headache and fatigue. I'll take that!

Sooo......time to travel and make use of some points.....headed to Southern Utah to get some fresh air and exercise. Booked myself the best domestic seat in the sky - JetBlues Mint Pod - using a combo of travel credits and points. Got 6 of my 9 hotel nights on points/FNC and used the Plat Avis credit for my rental. Total out of pocket is less than $600.

Really looking forward to a change of scenery.

Got my flights for memorial day weekend to slc, but really ogden to visit the bff. If all works as it should per flyertalk I'll have used most of my plat and gold flight credits. Used a 50 gc from my dl biz statement credit to get the flight down to 88 and used my gold. Used the 100 ecert dl so generously gave last week to get the flight back on Mon under 200 and put the 198 on my plat. Both are comfort + to get the most out of my credits. Fingers crossed they were. Picked my airlines, finally, on Fri.

I feel good. Just a sore arm. Dh is getting his shot tomorrow. I’m technically a substitute teacher so I qualified under that. Dh qualifies under his job also. We got our shots at cvs and they know what they’re doing. It was very efficient and quick. I didn’t have to wait behind anyone, walked around the store for 15 minutes, and left. It was easy to get an appointment too. I was worried because Publix online runs out of appointments almost instantly in my county. Cvs had tons of stores and times open though
Thanks for the info! Seems like varied responses here, but overall I'm hopeful it goes well...in our area I got cvs appt. also, it is tough to get one right now for any brand.

I was able to get mine today in MD at Giant. And I hear Kaiser has them since my friend from work went there today. My federal agency just gave us letters we can take the site. The MD site said it would be open to everyone by 5/1 and they just lowered to age 60. We are getting there.

@gottalovepluto, I got the wrong done. I am lefty but the seating is setup for the left arm so I just went with it. So far, so good but I’ll remember for the 2nd dose in April.
I hope they allow me to choose which arm..... I have a bad left shoulder and I don't want it there....

Looking for options if (when) our Disneyland trip for June is officially canceled.
NOLA vs DC.
For those in DC area or familiar, we have never been and looking to avoid a car so walkablity is key. Have Hyatt and Marriott points. Considering 2 nights Courtyard Foggy Bottom and 2 nights Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill. Are there walkable restaurants in those areas? Any other considerations?

Sooo no one's seen anything about the alleged 80K SUB for CSP?

Update 3/22/21 (11am ET): Increased Sapphire Preferred/Reserve offers are reportedly live in-branch (it’s worth making an appointment). Some are seeing the increased offers live online as well, possibly from within their Chase login/app. I can’t seem to find it yet, personally; it’ll probably come soon at a public link. (I don’t think it’s available via referral links. No word if that will change in the future.)

In May of 2019 we stayed a week at Residence Inn Dupont Circle using a 7 night certificate. We did have our car but only used it to drive to Mt. Vernon and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (100% recommend!). Otherwise we used our feet or the metro (we did take a taxi to the Washington National Cathedral). We live on a farm in the middle of nowhere so walking down city streets is still a treat to our boys (now 14 & 12- but 12 & 10 during this trip). The Residence Inn was definitely nothing fancy but it had a small kitchen which we mainly used for the fridge. There were many food options both on our block and within a block or two of the hotel; the metro station was very close. On Saturdays there is a farmers market also very close. We really enjoyed our stay. I am sure there are plenty of better options, but that one worked for us well.

Haleakala sunrise parking reservations used to be released 60 days in advance, but I see they’re now released 7 days in advance at 7 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time. HST is currently 3 hrs behind PDT and 6 hrs behind EDT.

https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/253731/ticket/255
https://www.nps.gov/hale/planyourvi... made online,reservation per three-day period
It’s 8:13 a.m. in Hawaii as I’m posting this, and I see tickets for 3/29/21 (7 days from now), are already sold out. Seems they sell out quick so you need to be on your game. Be logged in to your recreation.gov account a few minutes before 7 a.m. local time, and if there are address and payment info you can pre-fill, do it to streamline your checkout process.

Hawaii is packed with spring breakers right now. Tourism is roaring back.

Good luck!

@Lain that was kind of you to link that info on Haleakala. Sadly, I have done all of the above and am even running a second device next to me with time.is so I can be sure I am hitting “add to cart” at exactly 7HST. The tickets are gone within seconds, not even minutes, it’s that fast.

Ultimately, if it’s not meant to be, it’s not :). But, if anyone is traveling and has been successful- please share!

Another suggestion would be to catch the sunset instead. You don’t need reservations for sunset, and you won’t have to wake up at 3 a.m. on vacation to make the drive up the summit.

So much good news today. We had painters in to get the house ready to sell; they did 6 rooms plus hallways, and touched up the ceilings in a couple of other rooms, and finished in one day. They did have a crew of 5.

Had a Pfizer vaccine shot, eligible because I do volunteer work with the elderly. Just a sore arm. So looking forward to travel!!!!

We did a Haleakala sunrise on our honeymoon in 1987, didn't need a parking reservation back then.

Got a PNC credit card with a $200 credit for $1000 spend because I'm 5/24 anyway, so why not. They sent me a letter saying my credit score was 830. I think that's the highest I've ever been.

I’m hoping to use my Capital One Venture points this week at the Grande Beach Resort in Naples. Will they let me put a specified amount on the Capital One card and use my CSR for the rest? I only want to put the value of my points on the Capital One so I can erase the charge. I’m cancelling the card after this trip, so don’t want to use it for the whole amount.

I've done this many times at hotels with no problem
