I go to bed late, wake up early. I don’t wake up this early on purpose, though But I’ve definitely come to love the little bit of peace and quiet when I’m having my coffee in the morning!!

it’s funny but it’s the only time I have to myself! Once everyone goes to sleep, I stay up and catch up on my DVR! In the mornings, I’ll either just sit here and listen to music or play video games! Makes me happy

Oh I hear you!! When my DD was little, she was notorious for getting up at 5 or 6 AM every single morning, no matter what time she went to bed! It drove me crazy! So happy she grew out of that!

I have a big problem with the sight lines and the Epcot barges.

You look at Morocco and the care they took to make Tower of Terror blend while looming in the distance.

I will withhold final judgment until its ready, but am very skeptical of the day fountains. The barges are enormous and all exposed out there in the middle of lake I don’t see how they will not just be spray blowing around (similar to to the horrific day testing we’ve seen.) I usually trust Disney on these things, but this whole permanent exposed barge, let’s make it a fountain during the day thing has really lost me.

Will be so happy if I am wrong.

Oh, come on, the barge is TOTALLY hidden when the fountain is on!! You wouldn’t even know there’s a massive barge behind the fountain!!!!!

It is hard to please everyone. I think back at all the complaining about doing away with a fountain in the same park just a few short months ago. Now they appear to be adding a huge fountain in the middle of an otherwise useless space and people are complaining about that. My guess and hope is that the fountains will be used all day with some kind of hourly "show" coordinated to "Epcot" themed music somewhat similar to the Fountain of Nations. If so, I feel all this angst and consternation will come full circle. Cue circle of life....

It is to already be up and posting in the dis forums! Not the first thing I do. I get up around 6:00 CDT and don't get to the forums right away!

Fountain of Nations was so symbolic with representatives from all the countries pouring water in from their countries on its opening ceremony. Losing that one made me sad because of the sentiment and history behind it. I’ll never get over the loss of Fountain of Nations and the giant tacos certainly won’t be a replacement for that for me But, hopefully it’ll end up being okay.

Like I said, withholding judgment until it’s final but ... at this moment I’m concerned.

That’s my son. He’s 14 and hasn’t grown out of it, but he doesn’t need me at that hour anymore... Thank gooddness.

I’m sorry if this has been asked... Why aren’t they putting these where the one for Illuminations was stored?

Based on what I’ve seen discussed elsewhere, I think it’s because of how large they are and also how many there are - it would cause WS traffic issues having the drawbridge up for so long. I just hope they at least end up partially submerged but I’m not counting on it.

That doesn't mean there is a right or wrong answer here. I am sure no Imagineer started with the idea, "Hey, let's ruin those Epcot sightlines!" There is a give and take to things and nothing is perfect. I have my reservations myself, but I'm not ready to assume that nobody at Disney "cares" about anything. HarmonioUS is being created by a ton of people who do care I am sure.

I think the imagineers care 100% they arent the issue.

Yeah, but it's not like the suits had the idea for the barges - they probably just asked to come up with a nighttime show and this was the proposal they got. I doubt actually sinking them in the water was ever really proposed.

Whoever the manager/decision maker is who opted to re-do the blue turrets is my new favorite Disney CM. Also these decorations being added every day are really looking good, IMO. They seem to fit the castle so well - they don’t distract at all, but complement it nicely. I wasn’t around for prior celebrations so don’t have any castle cake, 2000, etc history to draw from as they’ve tinkered with park icons, but I find myself getting more excited about the 50th as we get closer. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.

It’s not that bad. If you’re standing in the center of showcase plaza, they only obscure Italy, America, and Japan.
