You don't want to laminate it though. The card may still need boosters etc added to it. If you read the comments on the thread about it.
Conjecture but there's no proof of that. They're likely to issue you a new card if you need a booster and the old one is lost/damaged.

I think his conclusion is that it would make sense to laminate a copy so that they could add boosters to the original card if necessary. Still, I think it's a nice offer.

I am still trying to figure out if I need to notify my health care provider or if they are notifying them when they take a copy of it.

If I can hang on to my social security card which isn't laminated, I'm fairly confident I can do the same with this one. At this point, outside of international travel that may require it, there's yet to be a reason anyone needs to carry it around. To me the cards are similar, carry it when you need it, keep it locked up and safe when you don't.

We also don't know that they'll actually issue a 2nd or replacement card so I'm good with not laminating it until we know what will happen.

We were going to head to Cancun this summer but DH has had a change of heart. He heard that there are hotels/resorts that are doing their own onsite departure clearance testing but they make sure the tests come back positive so you need to quarantine there. Anyone else hear that?
https://news.yahoo.com/cant-believe-happening-travelers-recount-120046029.htmlstories out today on people “stuck” in Mexico after testing positive. But it clearly says people tested both negative and positive.

I haven’t bought the MC before only the visas. Are they just as easy to use? I feel like I remember reading that one some people had issues with them.

I've bought them before no issues until recently. The last time neither mine nor @PlanePrincess cards were activated. When I called the contact us number to find out what happened, I was told I had to got to Staples to get them activated. When I got to Staples they gave me a phone number to call that was no longer in service. When I went back they gave me another phone number. I called them and they connected me to someone else that was unable to assist or knew which way to direct me. I called back and explained again and was given another phone number to call. This was the person that was finally able to get the cards activated. So it's hit or miss.

I did not have a positive experience, but this was a year or 2 ago when I was loading them to serve. I purchased two cards, swiped them, and they drained the $200 but did not credit the account. It took me weeks and many phone calls, emails, and finally having to send information snail mail to get it resolved. I will never purchase MCGC again.

that's true- just thought of that!

ok..... paying mortgage... using cc ..... I know there are so many experts on this thread.... if not ok to discuss 'out loud' could I ask for pm's for some info/advice? thank you...

Anybody else use tracfone for their cell service? They have the best reception for my area out of the prepaid services that I’ve found, and it’s cheap! Which is why I love it. But trying to coordinate payments to optimally use my 3 Amex biz cards’ cell credits has been crazy-fying. Their website is not user friendly, especially concerning automatic payments and what date your next payment will be charged. Apparently changing the card you use also changes the date they’re going to charge you. Very annoying. Just came here to vent. :coffee:

I just switched most of my automatic payments to my Chase Disney card to get the 5% up to $1500 in purchases. Would have switched the streaming to my Discover IT, but will max out Disney first and then back to sock drawer that will go until another 5% deal comes along. Once I max out the Disney 5% I will change the streaming to Discover and hopefully remember to use the right card at home improvement stores, Costco, and gas stations, and the freedom unlimited 3% categories.....

I haven't paid much attention, but I think I've read that buying Marriott GCs isn't a good option... Is it because they are difficult to use/find?

We have a stay this weekend, it's $100... DH's Brilliant credit just reset and he also has the $200/$50 promo on his card. I could pay the room rate then add a gift card for the other $200?

Hmmmm. I had a tracfone that I used for camping trips because my at the time Sprint service didn't get reception but Verizon did. I wonder where that phone is?? Somewhere in a drawer. Do cell phone numbers stay active even when not in use and no money on the account? I know the funds would have expired.

I have a need for a number for someone that I can add to my account for a few days.
