Any recent updates on wait times for the main pool? I'm so stressed about that lol! We paid extra for the preferred pool view room and I'm going to be so bummed if we can't even use it.

We were at Pop in late March. Our first HS day, we were in line for the Skyliner by 7:30 at Pop. HS opened at 9. The line seemed long and it’s didn't move for a good 15 minutes. I don’t think they were loading yet. Then it started moving. We went went straight to the HS line from the Pop/AOA line at CBR. And we were outside of HS by 8, waiting for temperature checks to open up.

But when went to HS a few days later, we did have to go to the back of the CBR line. That time however, we didn’t get to the Skyliner until a few minutes after 8. And there was no line at Pop, only at CBR. It took about 15 minutes once, we were in line at CBR to get on a gondola. My guess is there was no line at CBR the first day, since we were earlier.

When leaving HS at closing, there was a long line that went all the way back to the buses. Even with that long line it still only took us 15-20 minutes. Some of our group were intimidated by the line and went to the buses instead. But it took a good 20-25 minutes for a bus to come, so it wasn’t any faster.

For Epcot, we didn’t even try to RD. There was no line at Pop. But once we got to CBR, we had to go to the back of the line. It took us 15-20 minutes to get on a gondola. And coming back around 8 that evening, there’s was about a 20-25 minute wait outside of Epcot. I was kind of surprised at that one, since closing wasn’t until 11.

We LOVED using the Skyliner. At best it was a walk-on, and at worst it was a 20-25 minute wait. Don’t let the lines stress you out. They really do move quickly.

Thanks for this excellent, informative report as it shares a great variety of situations you experienced during your trip! Greatly appreciate you input!

Does the Skyliner really take longer from POP than a bus would? I have concerns about the transfer station at CBR! It seems so unfair that if you have already waited in line once for transportation that they would put you in in the back of a second line halfway to your destination. Why didn't they just have it going straight through, maybe alternating cars for the second resort... I know that what's done is done and maybe that's what people get for staying at a value resort? but it just seems like there could be a better way of doing the merge at CBR - like alternating lines or something. Or maybe I'm just anticipating that it will be worse than it actually is?
You have to get off at CBR for HS bc it only goes straight to Epcot anyways. We stayed at Pop in March and the lines went really fast at CBR. They do move everyone along pretty quickly. Plus at CBR there is a Joffry's. :-) I would chose the Skyliner over busses. Plus- lots of times they do not run the busses at Pop for HS or Epcot bc you need to take the Skyliner

Just a bit of clarification...

There are 3 separate Skyliner lines.
1. CBR - Pop/AoA
2. CBR - DHS
3. CBR - Riviera - Epcot

CBR is the hub station which all 3 lines spike from.

All guests must exit at CBR and re-board a new line to their destination.

Also, although Pop does not offer buses to DHS or Epcot, Art of Animation does. For guests who may not wish to ride the Skyliner, it is possible to walk across the bridge and take a bus from AoA.

Thanks for the clarification. For some reason I was thinking one of them went all the way.

I've been here since Sunday the 11th. I stayed at POP for the first two days then moved over to OKW. At POP we got in line at the skyliner at 7:10am for a HS rope drop on Tuesday. We were about 5 people deep at that point. There was a huge line behind us. Around 745-750 am they started letting people on the skyliner and when we got to CBR hub they did NOT put us at the back of the CBR line, we were able to get in line for HS immediately and were only about 15 people back. Then a few minutes later they started loading people onto the skyliner to HS and we were off. Got in line at temp check and thru security within 5 minutes and headed over to SDD as were about 30 people back and was told SDD was down. That really stunk as we were doing so well on time. Well we waited it out and about 45 min later we were 2nd to get on as the line kept dwindling down while we waited. But sadly by the time we were done with SDD the crowds were massive and everything was super long wait. We ended up coming back before closing and walked on to RnRC, TSM, AS, ST etc.

TV question. I searched but not finding info. We don’t watch much tv in the resort room however, our arrival day is the same day that they release the finale of Falcon and Winter Soldier. We will only have iPads with us. Is there a way to watch on our resort tv? Fire stick or is it a smart tv?

The TVs usually have a port to plug in a Firestick or Roku.

And I get it. I wouldn’t be able to wait to watch the finale either. 😀

What time do the pools start filling up? Supposed to arrive may 1st around 11 or so, was hoping to have a chill day at the pool. Thank you.

It probably depends on which pool you want, and how busy the resort is that week. But I imagine by early May all the spring break crowds will be finished, and it’ll be too early for the big summer crowds. We were there late March for spring break. My kids swim every day in the computer pool, and it was never closed for capacity. Most days they swam in the afternoons between 1-5. They also went to the pool some evenings with no issues either.

I'm due to check in at the Pop on Friday, have park reservations for AK and Epcot, very excited!

Should I check in early? I have a preferred room for 2. Is there a specific area I should request? Closer to skyliner, closer to lobby/cafeteria?

I have never stayed at the Pop so I'm not sure about the layout, but know these resorts are h u g e.

You will find that all preferred rooms are close to the Skyliner and Classic Hall. If you'd prefer a room ready when you arrive and have no other requests, I would make room ready early your only request.

Pop really isn't that large of a resort, especially if you have a preferred room booked.

Is there anyone there who can let me know if caricature drawings are currently being offered in the lobby? If so, do you need a picture?

Thanks

I saw the caricature artist there on Easter weekend. I thought someone was sitting there posing and I don't know about the picture. I didn't really pay attention, just remember seeing it briefly. Also, it wasn't set up in the lobby but outside, near the lobby doors on the side facing the pool, near where people eat outside.

We were there March 18-22nd and noticed the caricature artist was there but he was outside of the food court set up at a table right outside the sliding doors. I never noticed anyone sitting there getting a picture done but we did notice he was using a picture on a device and drawing from that.

The self service drink stations are open at Pop!!!!

They have a CM standing there limiting the number of people who can access the stations at a given time, but I filled my very own coffee cup this morning!

Progress!!!
Are the soda fountains working the same way before COVID (where you place your cup on the tray and it registers it)?

Do you think Everything POP (the restaurant) is going to extend its hours anytime soon? I understand why the hours are 7am-10pm when WDW opened up but now the the park hours have been extended for morning and night it would be nice to have the restaurant open for longer hours.
