Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Best way to get to MK right now? Bus from lobby or walk to TTC and ferry/monorail? Thanks in advance

Soooo I booked 2 nights at Poly before we move over to Beach Club for Food & Wine. This will be our first stay! We are so excited for the Moana rooms .
Us too, we will be in DVC deluxe studios in a couple of weeks. Our first time as well. Can’t wait to see what the hype is all about

Can anyone confirm that the Standard view category does in fact have a King Bed and Daybed configuration option? I notice that's the only category that does.
I know that when I went to do my online check in earlier that it had “king bed” as an option for room requests (and I’m booked standard). Also in the pictures online it has a “coming soon” picture for a king bed under the standard room, so I assume there is a chance they haven’t finished those rooms yet.

Would you expect more availability and rooms open for the 50th anniversary? -assuming that they haven’t finished yet all the refurbishment and/or that they get more staffing

This week three years ago, we were staying at the Polynesian. We celebrated our 25th anniversary, and had an incredible vacation. After canceling our June 2020 trip staying club level for the first time, we were supposed to be back at the Polynesian this week, but we decided to cancel and take a beach vacation instead. I know that we will have an amazing time, but I'm not gonna lie, I am really missing the Poly right about now.

Saw some pictures posted yesterday on a Poly Facebook group of a completed bungalow refurb. No sign of Moana or the tribal patterns they used on the hotel side. Instead they went with more tropical patterns and kept Lilo and Stitch in the art. Biggest change is the switch from a pull out sofa to a murphy bed sofa in the living room. Would be great if the murphy makes it way into the studios.

Are there any public pictures of the bungalow refurbs -- or can you post a link to the Facebook page (I assume that is allowed?)? Hopefully they replaced the dining room tables and flooring, both of which were getting pretty beat up (at least in some of the units). We stayed in #5 in May and while it was nice and everything functional, it was clearly in need of some refurb (same for others we stayed in pre-covid).

I hope this comes back soon. It seems weird that they've reopened without it.

Actual October 1? Nope, not expecting much availbility. Being a original 1971 resort, the Poly is the most popular for the 50th (I assume the CR is too). Many (maybe even most) guests reserved their Poly room with a 500-day room in 2019, hold before long before the COVID shutdown, the rest of the rooms were taken within a week of late-2021 reservations opening up (which I think was before the extended closure/refurb/monorial construction was announced).

The resorts have not been holding rooms back. The only rooms not for sale at the Poly are the Club Level, and those aren't coming back until next year (IIRC).

Looks like DVC Fan just posted an article about it with the photos.

Oi those coffee makers in the bungalow pictures break easy, ours lasted less than a year before we had to contact Cuisinart to replace it. I can't imagine how fast they're gonna break with lots of people staying in them and not being as gentle with them as I am.

First ever stay at the Poly coming up next week via a last-minute DVC rental--so excited! I have a question regarding the Kiki Tikis Splash Area. I see online that a 48-inch max. height is listed on the splash area sign. Will I be able to bring both my 4-year-old (under 48 inches) and my 9-year-old (over 48 inches) in the splash area, or are they strict about enforcing children's heights there? Thanks in advance for any insights!

This is definitely accurate, all the mono resorts have been sold out for the 50th for ages. We booked CR CL for 9/30 - 10/3 at like day 498 and could only get Lake View, it promptly sold out. When we decided a whole back to extend the trip we managed to book Poly for 10/3 - 10/14 but even for that timeframe availability is scarce now and I’m glad we booked when we did.

GADisneyDad14 I Love the new thread! Thank you so much for updating it! As previous thread owner I know this is a huge undertaking so Mahalo!! :disrocks:

We have been able to visit the Poly twice now since the world opened back up and even with all the construction is was awesome to be back. I will say that I actually loved having the resort so quiet with only the DVC open and no 'Ohana and Luau traffic. But we will be back on 9/29 for the 50th and I can't wait to see the resort back in full action!

From my *one* experience they seem to allow older children if they are clearly playing with a younger sibling and not being disruptive / too rough. However your 9 year old will be very big for this splash area. We went with a 3 year old and a slightly big for his age 6 year old. The 6 year old had very little interest in the splash area. Are you sure your 9 year old will want to even go on the splash area? It's also very close to the main lava pool so your 9 year old could go on the slide there while your 4 year old is in the splash area.

Thanks so much, very helpful! I agree that my 9 year old likely won't be too interested in the splash area--mostly just trying to get an idea of how strict they are in case my 4 year old refuses to try the space without her "big" sister. :) I'm guessing we'll spend most of our water time in the Lava Pool. Thanks again!

Honestly, that's how I've been with Riviera this year lol. First non-split stay with Riviera in several trips, I'm sure I won't regret it, but I will need to control my dole whip consumption.

This why I am doing a split with Riviera AND Poly in October. 🤣
