Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

We are staying at the CBR in a few weeks. We have reservations to eat at Sanaa on one of our off day. We will have our car so that is an option. With the bus system, would we take a bus or the sky rider to a park and get to Sanaa? Our reservation is 7pm. So then afterwards would be another issue on how to get back to CBR.

If you have a car, that is the simplest option, just drive to Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village. That would be far easier and quicker than using the WDW transportation.

Driving your own car would be easiest but if you really wanted to use Disney transportation you could a) take the skyliner to DHS and then catch a bus to AKL or ) take a bus to AK then another bus to AKL.

Hello, trying to get up to date info. on buses to MK at rope drop. I’ve read back through the thread and searched. I’ve seen conflicting things about bus routes. I’ve read there is only one bus route with Jamaica and Aruba being the last stops. And I’ve read that sometimes Jamaica and Aruba have their own buses.

Anyone there recently with insight?

We have friends there now and they said that every morning Jamaica and Aruba have had their own buses to the parks.

Also, anyone know when buses start for a 9:00 am park open? I’ve usually driven to MK in the past and we won’t have a car this time.

First bus has been right around 7:00 AM.

Definitely...if you have a car thats by far the easiest and fastest option

Is there a cost to park at Kidani Village or b/c I am staying onsite, We won't have to pay to park?

There's no parking charge for any day guest:
"Day Guests
Complimentary standard self-parking is available while enjoying select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at Disney Resort hotels."

You could take Skyliner to DHS and get AKL bus from there. Kidani is first stop, then Jambo House. While I’m eating at Saana I always love walking over to AKL after Kidani to walk around. Lobby is beautiful and love browsing gift shop.

Or you could take Ak bus from CBR then transfer to AKL bus.

But you‘d have to pay attention to park closing times, you would probably have to take the Disney Springs bus and transfer there to get back to CBR.

Driving would be easiest. Or if you’re planning on enjoying a drink or 2 with dinner, Uber.

Does anyone know what time the pools and splash pad are open until at CBR?

just upgraded our resort from Pop to CBR for our trip next month. GAHH i love this resort! i visited in 2015 (pre-updates) and after visiting this past April it's like night and day. I can't not wait to be back!

My biggest concern right now is the weather and it's effect on the skyliner. Should we be prepared for no skyliner in the afternoons with this crazy summer weather?

Ironically for us, it ran more regularly in the afternoon than it did in the mornings and evenings. My one recommendation is to reference a weather app like weather bug before walking to either station. See if there is/was lightening in your area and don't just assume that since you see it running, it will be running when you get there. If there is lightening in the area it will continue to run until all guests are off. They really, REALLY need to use MDE to let guests at those resorts opt in to communications and get notified the moment they are down, back running, etc instead of walking there only to find out it's closed.

In August you can set your watch to the 3:00 T-Storms!

Do you know if chairs are available for the movies? Between my hip and knee I don’t think I could sit on the ground that long.
I used to love the movies on the beach at Poly, & BC/YC because you could comfortably sit on a lounge to watch.

Yes, we did see some chairs.

When we visited in April, there was only one morning that it was down. and the second the bus arrived, the skyliner started running. So I can attest to that morning issue.

Hello Friends-
This has probably been asked before, but there is so much to sift through on this thread that I’m going to ask again. Thanks for understanding! We are heading to CBR in Feb 2022. Last time I was at CBR was 1990 and I was a tween, but I remember it as my favorite Disney resort so I’m excited to go back to CBR. Anyway, we requested a fifth sleeper bc one of my children is a kicker and squirmer at night. There’s 6 in our travel party - two separate rooms - my husband, myself and our two boys (age 11,13) and then my parents in their own room. In a perfect world we want to be close to the main pool, close to the skyliner, close-ish to Riveria, and at a good spot for the bus route to not always be seeing a full bus arrive. Not sure all these can even be accommodated together, but that’s why I’m asking. What do you recommend I request for area of the resort? Thanks!
