Star Wars Hotel Pricing

I look for Disney to create big Comic-con type events on property. They will draw thousands of people annually and many of those die-hards will add the Starcruiser experience as part of their trip.

OK. Let's compare this to the price of a VIP tour--something I've noticed more than nobody does.

Tours are a minimum of 7 hours. Pricing is between $425/hour and $850/hour, depending on the season.

So the cheapest this could be is $2,975 and if you had the maximum number of 10 guests, that would be $297.50/person, not counting gratuity, assuming you wanted to give one. If there are only, say, 4 of you, then this would be $743.75/person. For a seven-hour experience. And it doesn't include park admission. That's more. So add on another ~$130/person.

The most expensive this could be is $5,950 for the 7 hours. For 10 guests, that would be $595.00/person, not counting gratuity or park admission. If there were only 4 people, that would be $1,487.50/person--more than $1,500/person with park admission. For SEVEN HOURS.

Believe me, people are paying for this. I frequently see VIP tour groups with Plaids. I realize these experiences aren't comparable, but we're talking about nearly $6K for 7 hours. This makes the Star Cruiser look like a bargain.

It would cost us $12,000 for 2 nights (2 adults, 6 kids) based on the price of $6,000 for 4 people. I really did not think it would be that high. Guess my SW obsessed 13-yr old will have to wait until he is an adult to stay :sad2:

There are many FB groups for people to make groups of 10 to share the cost. Many times it is multiples parties paying the cost, not one.

Possibly. But only as an add-on, since you can't "stay" at the starcruiser like a proper hotel.

The largest rooms an accommodate up to 8. It probably won't work out to be that high.

The prices are definitely on the high side.

They should offer a much cheaper "steerage" option. 10-12 people randomly assigned a tiny room. No meals are included, you eat only what the other guests leave on their plates or throw at you during meal times. And you don't get to participate in any experiences, you just get to watch everyone else longingly from a safe distance.

I know, the pricing on this is extraordinary. I don't think I could get even half the value out of it.

Or just stay at POP and bring your own lightsabers and eat off StarWars paper plates I'm sure they have them at Party City.

Wait for the absolute hardcore SW fans to hand over all their money to Disney to get their fix. Then those prices should fall significantly.
Disney does not officially admit mistakes by lowering prices. What I'd guess they'll do if it's overpriced in 2023 is create a new experience, possibly making it a one-night, 19 or 20-hour adventure.

The Big Thunder BBQ (now closed & replaced by Galaxy's Edge) at Disneyland was ridiculously overpriced when it opened (it was very uncrowded at those prices), and what Disney did was introduce all entirely new options--really not much of a change, and the prices were lower & the place became more full.

On the other hand, I thought that the prices increased far too much too quickly about 12 years ago at the wonderfully themed Blue Bayou in Disneyland's New Orleans Square, but the restaurant never stopped being packed with guests, so I was wrong & the prices were not reduced.

I would definitely opt for the "Basic Training" option, where you stay in a barracks-style bunk bed with a footlocker and you get boxed food.

That's what I'm hoping for. I would love to do this experience but only at half the price.

Fun idea, but it that were an option and the prices were still in this ballpark, Samuel Jackson & Mark Hamill themselves had better be yelling & calling me their galaxy's version of "MAGGOT!" during boot camp!

My exact thoughts on the pricing were "Mark Hamill himself better be teaching these classes for that money."
