Space 220

Why do they insist on dribbling out info like this? Why couldn't they just say when ADR's will open at the same time they announced the opening date? It's so stressful to have to try to be on top of every bit of news every minute of every day when planning a trip. Not everybody has the luxury of being able to sit online or social media all day looking for the newest updates.:headache:

I feel as though the menu is not going to be out of this world... we're 18 days out from the grand opening. Are they hoping the hype of the theme will get people to show up regardless, then drop the less-than-stellar-but-still-very-expensive menu a few days prior to avoid anymore flack from the park goers?
It could be they’re having to last minute change it. Lots of places are having issues getting their restaurant deliveries as expected. Patina is not going to be an exception and they will have experienced these issues at their other restaurants already. I wouldn’t be surprised if their supplier has informed them they won’t be getting this order quite as ordered and they’re adjusting/waiting to find out what exactly is gonna show. As a price fixed menu it’s got a lot less wiggle room than a traditional menu so that would make this even more difficult I would think.

It’s entirely possible they haven’t decided when to start accepting ADRs. Walk ups are guaranteed revenue. ADRs are maybe revenue because due to COVID they can’t really enforce show up or pay policies and they dissuade walk ups who think there is no room for them.

Or it’s something as simple as IT isn’t ready for Space 220 ADRs #DisneyIT

Really upset about this nonsense. Walk in will be when we are there, was thinking of taking the kids, but seriously are they smoking crack? The price is insane. Walt has to be turning in his grave. First is the fact that the first course is garbage, I eat exactly none of that and 55 dollars for a flat iron steak? 78 dollars for a filet? Seriously? I'm betting Outback Filet is better and Ruth Chris is certainly better and cheaper. 29 dollars for a kids meal? WOW just wow!!

At least you get a steak - if you see the vegan pasta dish, I'm not sure it's any better than Olive Garden's - the pic doesn't even toss the sauce and it looks like what you'd serve a kid in presentation and size and veg amount (which is lacking)...

The pricing will be $55 per person for adults for lunch and $79 per person for adults for dinner. For children, the pricing is $29 per person for lunch and dinner.

The two-course lunch includes one “lift-off” appetizer and one “star course” entrée. The three-course dinner includes one appetizer, one entrée and one “supernova sweet” dessert.

For appetizers, the menu features Big Bang Barrata, Starry Calamari, Blue Moon Cauliflower, Neptuna Tartare, and Space Greens.

The entrées for lunch are Bluehouse Salmon, Centauri Burger, Flat Iron Steak, Seared Tuna, and Baked Maccheroni.

For dinner, the entrée options are 8 oz. Filet Mignon, Slow Rotation Short Rib, Florida Red Snapper, X2 Duck, Terra-Bolognese, Roasted Free-Range Chicken.

The dessert menu features Lemon Mousse, Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake and Chocolate Cheesecake.

There’s also a kids menu that features spaghetti, salmon, chicken and desserts.

Space 220 will also serve a variety of cocktails — Stargarita, Atmospritz, The Big Tang, Planetary Punch and Celestial Cosmopolitan — as well as “zero proof” mocktails.

The restaurant will be available to walk-ins from Sept. 20-26. Reservations will open Sept. 20 for dates Sept. 27 and after.

The price really is kooky. I can't wait to read the reviews.

Right, first step pay off construction cost..
So its $500 dinner for my family of 4...
Do you know what kind of steak places I can go for $500 for 4 people?
And I only get the space not the star wars...
I think I would rather eat at steakhouse 71

Look at it Disney's way: they opened up ADRS and some days filled up in minutes. The question is, is it sustainable? They better have some good early reviews.

My issue has always been that my 11 year old is an adult in Disney eyes... same problem with BOG
Totally agree! Being forced to pay an adult price for my 10 year old is insane. They need to adjust their kids dining age. I won't pay $79 for a dinner for a 10 year old. We really enjoy the sit down restaurants but any with pricing like this are out for us until the kids are 16+!

Thank you. I think that all started with the dining plans. Really should be looked at.... probably wont happen as long as people sign up to pay that much.

My 12 year old doesn’t like fancy things. He’s plain all the way. He would rather the kids menu because it’s simple. I wouldn’t even mind paying a little more for him to be allowed to choose from the kid menus. They should definitely up the age for dining (even if it’s just outside the dining plan). I don’t know how that would work but it does suck to pay $55-$79 for a meal that is never gonna get eaten just to get in the door for an experience. I’ll probably end up skipping this next trip which is a bummer, but as much as I want to eat there I just can’t justify the cost.

When we went to BOG they let my son choose food off the kids menu but they still charged him the adult price. I have heard that people have gotten them to charge the kids. My DH would hate if I made a fuss so I did not that day.... but is was not $80. When I go to Disney its its certainly not to complain at people that's not a carefree vacation.

Y’all forgot, this is WDW. I still remember buying hotdogs back in the 80’s for 4 people that came to around $40+. DH and I just had local lunch and a couple of drinks that was $80 with military discount. Bought bacon at Publix that was $7.99. But, you will spend ridiculous money for QS or high F&W without blinking. Obviously Space 220 is not going to be for everyone, maybe that was their thinking. Flying Fish, STEAKHOUSE 71, etc. are also expensive. Choose what you are willing to do, but complaining about the price is a waste of energy…IMO.

But at least steakhouse71 let's me buy what I want.. the menu says a filet is $36 with one side vs $79 for a whole bunch of stuff I dont want

Of if you're vegan, you can have a vegetable wellington for $26 and skip $53 extra for two scoops of sorbet (or a slice of carrot cake) and a salad...the steak options are actually the closest to each other's value, and those still aren't close, but the non-steak options are nuts...
