Princess Weekend 2022

I am really disappointed about this, I was looking forward to going here just for this. I may skip out on epcot now... I only have one day in the park right now and I am thinking I will start in HS and now end MK. I was thinking Epcot over MK for the arts festival.

Disappointed too! Wanted to try out the living art and the paint by numbers...

Can someone remind me where we add a link for POT? I went into my race registration but I don't see it there... Thanks!

Under your "Your registrations", click "Edit Registration" on the far right.

Your registration info should show your email, name, DOB. Scroll down below that past emergency contact, military, and disability. The next question after disability is about POT.

It's there you'll see something like this:

In the last box relating to POT is where you'll put the race results website.

Bummer you guys! Festival of the Arts isn’t quite running until Princess Weekend, January 14-February 21.

That is a HUGE bummer. I may shorten my trip if there is no festival happening during the time I'm there. The outdoor Epcot food booths are a big part of my personal dining plan!!

I wonder if Flower and Garden is going to start a week earlier in 2022 so it starts Princess race weekend? That seems a bit crazy in terms of crowds at Epcot but who knows.

IIRC that festival has always fallen right between MW and Princess. It's the one festival at Epcot I've never managed to attend. If I'm making a trip at that time, it's for one of those races. I suppose it's on purpose but still a bummer.

In 2019 and 2020 the Festival of the Arts was still happening during Princess weekend. In 2017 and 2018 it was not, though. (As far as I know, this festival didn't exist prior to 2017.)

I'd be fine with having Flower and Garden underway during Princess, but I would be sad if they had no festival at all! I did Princess in 2020 and loved having a festival underway for post-race fun. And, ahem, Disney: I definitely spent more money due to the festival, lol.

I signed up for the challenge yesterday. It being open for registration for so long was taunting me. Holy moly on Disney hotel prices 😱 I ended up booking the Dolphin with a passholder rate.
We did the same for both MW and Princess. Branching out and trying the Dolphin for MW and Swan for Princess. We had been die hard Disney resort stayers but at these prices we suddenly became interested in trying something new.

Dd17 and I are signed up for a Halloween 5k on Sat. It is 100% chance of rain. Dd said she isn’t doing it in the rain 🙄.

I’m pretty much going to give up on DD doing the 10k with me. Mad I wasted the $ to sign her up but I can’t really force her to train. Oh well. I will have fun with or without her running It.

The app I use when running the couch to 5k isn’t working. I have been using it again to restart running with DD4 in the jogging stroller. I’ve made it through week 4 and now the whole series isn’t working. Really hope it comes back soon. Dd4 looks forward to the runs. (She gets to watch her iPad while I run) I don’t love the runs but I don’t have any other time to go and running with the stroller seems to be using muscles I don’t during normal runs so I have started to like them.

I can’t wait to see how the Wine and Dine runs go. I miss RunDisney so much.

Who else has started training for the PHM? I was planning to start next week, but feel like that might be early? I just did my first HM on 10/10 and have only run 3 miles a few times since...

I have a marathon on 11/14. Then I'm off for 8 days to allow my training load to drop and my body some time to heal. Then a one week return to training with only easy pacing. That'll leave me 13 weeks to train for the Challenge starting on 11/29. I don't expect my body to feel normal again until about 12/13 or so based on past history of recovering from a marathon. At this moment, my plan is to do a few 10k "B" races to work on strategy and how the race feels since my goal at PHM is a top 3 finish. I want to nail the effort of a 10k race so I can trust myself in the moment.

I’m already on week 7 of my PHM training plan, but I picked/created a really long, gradually increasing mileage plan that also included a break for a WDW trip in the middle.

Good luck!! I will be rooting for you to get top 3! (from the back, lol)
