Good info. DS is a Spurs fan. So if game is changed to Sunday, do you lose your $ if you have a ticket or get a refund?
I'm quite close to giving up for this year and fingers crossed for next year. The fact that PL schedule comes out well after airlines have released their schedule doesn't help. And PL season is over by the time school is out here. Plus there seems to be an international break at end of March so many years there are no home games for Spurs during our spring break (always last week of March). Sadly I think if it's not this year, he won't get to see Kane though maybe Son will still be around.

The broadcast schedule should be known before the tickets go on sale, so you should know before you buy the tickets.

I did the add a person on my Amex Plat(added DD as gold). The offer is spend $ 2,000 get 20,000. I met the $2000 this weekend. Should the MRs post soon or does it hit once the statement closes?

Finally did the Kabbage deal today. Not much else going on with my credit cards. I did see OD/OM has a Visa gc deal this week. Only hit up Staples twice last week (have $9800 left this year). Trying to replenish my URs after using them to buy my plane tickets for Europe for our cruise. I really can't wait for that trip. I'm burning out (job and ds) and trips to my parents are nice, but not really relaxing:)

I finally did the Kabbage acct earlier this week too! Still waiting on my initial deposit to transfer in and my debit card to get here.

Dh and I have been married 20 years on Nov. 9. We bought our mattress when we got married. It is sooo comfortable but I wake up with some back pain and really think we need a new bed.
We went over the weekend to “look” and just check beds and mattresses out. We found a mattress that was $3600. Of course, I am waiting on my new CIC and didn’t even have my wallet so I said let’s just wait a week. Dh, who is the cheapest person ever, said no let’s just get it now. I talked him into waiting a week and now he is thinking, we don’t really need a new mattress😡
That will teach me to wait for a new card to meet a MSR. I’m hoping I can convince him again soon.

I forgot to fund the account, and forgot to do the 5 debits (I just activated card today) :D
Did I only have 1 month to do the 5 debits? I can't remember and apparently I didn't save anything.

If you put a (big?) purchase on the Biz Gold, you might get the offer I did ... good luck!
I bought two couches with it the day I got it almost taking care of the MSR:) And 45 days on the debit transactions. I funded mine when I set it up--just transferred $100 from C1. But the interest rate (for the first year) is obviously much better than what I'm getting at C1 so I'm wondering if I shouldn't transfer my emergency savings to Kabbage for now.

I booked Thanksgiving in St. Kitts at the Park Hyatt using FNC and AA points but now am rethinking it. I really do not want to have to COVID tested or “vacation in place,” although we probably won’t leave the resort anyhow.

In other news, DS’s homecoming was postponed and he had to get COVID tested instead since they have a small breakout (5 of 180 students). All of that and they ended up needing to go virtual this week. (And I missed the whole first sentence about the dance being postponed so here he is dressed for the event.) 5EC9DB72-CAF0-4F27-B21A-FB7BA135D195.jpeg

Because I know I’ll get accurate answers here:

rental cars and URs. I can still skip the counter with Alamo or Thrify if I’m signed up for their loyalty program if I pay with URs, right? I just enter my member/loyalty ID in the chase portal when I “pay” right?

I have a CIC with a $3000 credit limit that I'm working on a $7500 MSR for. Since that would average out to $2500/mo for the spend, would you say it's important that I make sure that I'm hitting that number each of the three months since it's close to the credit line? Or if I spend lower the first two months, and then higher than the credit limit the third (but pay off the balance as I go, so the balance wouldn't be above the credit line) would it be fine?

If you only cycle once a month, it shouldn't be a big problem. Cycling refers to spending the amount of the credit limit, paying it down mid month, then spending more. Usually, the trouble comes in doing that multiple times per month because it suggests to Chase that your spending habits greatly exceed their risk tolerance of you (the credit limit). If you want to stick to $2,500/month you can, but I don't think a single cycle per month (such as $4,000 in the first two months and meet the MSR well before the deadlines) will raise any red flags on Chase's end. Alternatively, just transfer credit from another existing business card you don't use as much to the new CIC to expand your spending limit per month.

Thanks, this is helpful! My plan was to see if I can meet the $2500/mo organically and then add some spend the third month if I haven't quite gotten there (so I only anticipate cycling the third month, if at all). I do sometimes pay down my (far below credit limit) balance during the course of a month just as a way of keeping track of expenses/purchases, so maybe I'll avoid doing that with this card if it might raise red flags?

Paying down your balance mid-month is never an issue in and of itself (I do it because I like to pay all of my balances every week as a matter of habit; that's how I track MSRs too because it's easier than tracking total spending -- especially on no AF cards). The only time it becomes part of an issue is if your total spending within a single statement cycle exceeds the total credit limit (and is likely no issue if you only do it once per statement cycle as stated above). It sounds like your plan is problem-free.

This is still quite awhile away, but I got a PM from somebody asking about it so I figured I'd do an update:

Here's your friendly reminder that Southwest Airlines next schedule release is expected to occur on WEDNESDAY December 8th. For those planning to snag flights, set those calendar reminders so you don't forget! I'll post additional reminders as the date draws nearer.
  • Currently SW is offering flights through 4/24/22 and this next release will take their schedule out to 9/5/22. This will likely be a popular extension covering all of summer!

I'm not answering the question you posed (because I almost always use Costco to book rental cars), but want to advise you that if you are using URs thinking you'll be covered with primary rental car coverage from CSP/CSR, then put a small charge on the CSP/CSR (like $1) and pay the rest with URs. If you need to make a claim, the 3rd party insurer wants documentation of everything, including a cc statement showing you paid for the rental with a CSP/CSR. Since you can pool all your URs, there's no other way to show that you have coverage from CSP/CSR unless it shows up on your statement.

OOH good to know this! We have our current rental booked completely on URs.

Back from my Bday weekend in NOLA. Slightly bummed as the streetcars were down. So my goals of seeing the garden district and some of the cemeteries was a bust. We walked over 20 miles in 2 days, and I have the blisters to show it. I learned quickly that I'm too sober for NOLA. Also the vax card/test requirement wasn't too annoying. Most just looked to see if we showed them anything. My BF only had the photo of the back of his card. That was good enough for every place BUT the casino. THEY REALLY looked over everything!

Stayed at the Kimpton. I contacted them ahead of time to ask for an early check-in and mention my bday. They got us in at noon. I dropped the secret word at check in and got a bottle of wine. Then they surprised us later w/ a bottle of champagne and snacks. Our location was part of the parade route as well, so I got to experience NOLA's mardi gras version of Halloween. All in all a good trip. I managed to get on the flights both way (they were overbooked). And capped off the flight w/ the BF finally adding me to his benefits, LOL. So now I'll have at least a little more "status" while trying to fly standby. Now to plan the next trip!

I just saw my new CIC is sitting at $2100, with a $3k limit. W/ the OM/OD offer this week, I just asked Chase to transfer over $4k of the $6k on my old CIC. I hope they do. It would be nice to knock out the $7500 spend w/ some more VGCs. And I prefer the OD/OM offer as those VCGs play nice at Walmart, LOL.

I use Google Sheets so I can access on my computer and on my phone

Each card's columns are colored so I can easily see at a glance, the far right is so I can note if I used an offer since some are "2 times", etc. Or, in my screenshot the Dropbox offer I have noted that I have it set to be used on my renewal. For some I put the last 4-5 digits in row 2 so I don't get confused. I have the first 2 rows and first column frozen so always visible. I tend to update this every 2 weeks or so, it's not always up to date, but gives me a good idea at least.

Then for quarterlies or other spend promos I have another page. I just manually add my spend and pop that in the "used" column and add the date I updated. The sheet figures how much I have left to spend.

I have a google sheet. But I find it's so hard to keep it updated. Maybe I need to try better. But I use card pointers for the normal quarterly offers and category spends.

Instant approval for the CIC! Who-hoo. Remembered to support a friend on Dischurners too.

This time of year is always the most $$$ we spend so figured I’d give it a shot. I always think I will have a hard time spending $7500 in 3 months but it will probably be easy the next two months.
I swear all my cards are October sign ups because of the holidays, LOL. Plus I used to go to go Vegas for school in Nov. They always made us pay for everything up front and then reimbursed us. So that was good for a SUB too! Now I'm just over here trying to hit $7500 between my spend and VCG....my winter taxes will help w/ that ;) Oh and I think I have my homeowner's insurance too! So that will help.

I've had no issues with adding the member number with Alamo, but Thrifty would not allow me to add my number on a 3rd party booking in August for October. I believe I had an issue with Budget once where they wouldn't add it after the fact because it was a third party booking.
