I've got a tale of caution regarding Visa gift cards, related to the Sam's deal.

Just a few days ago, I purchased discounted variable load Visa gift cards at HyVee - I paid $426 for $450 load. 9.5% discount + 4x MR on my Amex gold card. I purchased 4 cards - loaded 2 onto my wife’s Sam’s account, 2 onto mine. Went through RMN for extra 5%, which has tracked for me in the past.

The good news - my wife’s purchase went through fine. $852 for $1000 gift card +4 MR + possible 5% back through RMN. Could end up greater than 25% discount.

My order wouldn't go through. I checked my balances, and somebody has already drained one of my Visa gift cards at FamousFootwear.com. I just purchased the card on 11/21. I’ve already submitted my fraud dispute with mygiftcardmall.com. Sam’s offer was sold out when I tried to use the final Visa gift card.


ETA - I spoke with fraud specialist at Mygiftcardmall. I registered my Visa gift cards on their website as soon as I got home from purchasing them. Because they were registered to my name, address, and zip code, the charges on the account are pending, and money has not been released yet. The fraud specialist thought there was a good chance that the money won't be released, which will make the process much easier. They will just send me a new card with the balance attached. Definitely take the time to register your Visa and Mastercard gift cards.

Not if you've consolidated them up to $1000 on DGC site, you would bring the physical cards with you.

I hadn't thought of that. I had already drained my gift cards paying for things. I guess i can just take an empty one and load the new ones on there.

And remember to save your "drained' gc until the deal is done, 100% done. When your satisfied, those can be tossed.

Yes, it's always good to keep a few empty cards to reload. Keep record of your transactions and label your gc's too.

RMN is offering 6% cash back at BJ's. Offer terms state gift cards are excluded, but I've had luck with RMN tracking gift card purchases at other sites. We'll see how it goes.

Wow, I didn't think it would go so quickly - I didn't even try right at midnight, was looking about 15 mins ago and figured it had not gone live yet because it was listed as OOS. Thought maybe it would go live at 12am CST.

So, according to the comments at Doctor of Credit, split payment can be done provided the cashier knows what their doing. Hmm, DH & I have the 10% offer on Disney Visa, he also has Dosh. Can my cc be added to his account for a double hit?

Ack! Got behind on this thread and didn’t get a notification that I’d been tagged! If someone else hasn’t already jumped in - YES! You can add as many CCs to your Dosh account as you want, and it doesn’t matter whose name is on the credit card. Happy Doshing!

I did Rakuten not too long ago for 11% and it tracked and apparently the check is already in the mail. Might liquidate a $250 virtual Visa (they seemed like a good deal, but just sit there unused because I could always think of a better way to pay for this purchase) and try out this offer. Worst case scenario, I end up with 10 new gift card designs for my collection and $250 in funny money I’m gonna spend anyway.

What about RMN? I had luck with it tracking this summer. But haven’t bought any in a few months. This was Shop Disney. I haven’t tried RMN for gift cards at Sams

The highest purchase I've ever made on Rakuten was ~$3000 but I did receive cash back on the entire purchase.
