Robyn annoys me more each episode. She reminds me of some women I know, they really have no interests or personality other then what their husband tells them to do. She's so submissive. Yeah right, in the episode 2 weeks ago, she wants Kody gone and wanted plural marriage not. She wants him all to herself.

And for the life of me I can't figure out why Kody stopped calling to talk to his kids. Was that supposed to be some sort of punishment for not being obedient enough?

Robyn and Kody didn't get the memo that polygamist wives were supposed to want the man to visit the other wives and keep them happy.

In the early years, the first 3 talked a lot about suppressing jealousy and envy and being happy that the man was with the other wives and children.

I feel like Robyn is incredibly insecure and is modeling that for her children, which explains why everyone is hesitant to leave the nest and can't handle Kody being gone for more than a couple days. It's very unhealthy.

What a hard episode.

Have not always been a fan, but Gabe was a warrior. Obviously Kody failed him all over the place but at least you could feel the connection. Kody treated Garrison like a neighbour.

I was really uncomfortable with Kody's summation of Robyn's words about the funeral, a la going. I was part in horror and then laughing that he could not see how utterly inappropriate her thoughts were. He said them like they were completely normal. And I do not think Robyn would want them repeated.

I said at the beginning of the season - really Kody, only having sex with one of your wives - what could possibly go wrong? Insert eye roll.

I'm actually thinking the one big house idea might not be a bad one. At least the kids could have a central place to hang out with each other and Kody. Perhaps now that Christine is gone it will be considered again.

Yes, i think it should be revisited.

At the least a large communal home, where all could gather. That might be better for their sanity.

Last show was a train wreck! Felt so bad for Gabe and his brother having to explain themselves to their own dad, letting the boys say that they thought the “rules” were Robin’s idea which of course Kody says nothing about. For crying out loud, Kody needs to take responsibility for all of the $&*# happening! And then he has the nerve to call Janelle the “teflon queen”!! Broke my heart when Gabe got upset and his “so called dad” shows no emotion at all…could not even tell his sons he loves them when they leave!! Also, next week should be good with Christine’s announcement and her deciding to throw his stuff out! GOOD FOR HER!! (Meri should do the same)

Kody's dad was married to Janelle's mom. It's obvious why Kody went to Janelle's Mom's funeral. It was only to make Kody look good & respectable.

And I'm thinking the ship has sailed on that. The family is so fractured already that a large communal home might prove to be a bad investment at this point. Once you build something like that, you'll have a hard time ever recouping that investment, so you better be sure.

I just think the time for that was years ago if they were interested. Now between kids aging and moving on, and wives moving on (he he) they could really get stuck financially on something like that.

I had a hard time with that too. But based on the comments in the show it seems like Janelle's mom and her both became interested in the Brown's faith/family around the same time. So at least one wasn't married into the family long term when the other one did.

And after googling around, I see that Kody is Janelle's second husband. I either didn't know that or forgot about it over the years. She was married to Meri's brother for 2 years when they were young. Hard to keep up with all this.

That would be pretty big news and I don't recall seeing it. But I think I did hear that Robyn and Kody refinanced their house or took out some equity loans or something. I haven't heard exactly why although I did wonder if they were trying to buy out Christine.

Yep. Also Janelle use to be married to Meri’s brother. Christine and Kody are very distance cousins. Understanding their backgrounds makes a lot of sense how these relationships are now imploding.

Yes financially not smart, agreed.

But I do think some kind of hybrid choice. would make sense for the dynamic for what they are supposed to be striving for, even with adult children. Boy I think about Robyn's two youngest a lot - totally different life.

yup on kody and janelle as step sibs,

yup on janelle previously being kody's sister in law (married to meri's brother)

also-

robin's ex husband is christine's first cousin and kody's third-so distant kissing cousins
