Grabbed 5 nights at the Conrad Bora Bora when FM reported that award availability was wide open (only lasted a day). Added in Moorea, Raiatea, and Huahine. An Air Tahiti Pass to include those islands was about the same as roundtrip Tahiti to Bora Bora.

Anyone ever been and have recommendations for me?

I was honest. Just said, “ When I tried to cash out this morning, I got a notice that I was temporarily suspended. I was hoping to cash out for my vacation.”
The response said they have had a lot of fraud and something flagged on my account but they lifted the suspension.
Thank you thank you thank you!! Heard back from Dosh today - my account is unsuspended and my $60.13 is on my way to Venmo.
Hmmm....is it really tempting fate to wonder when OD will have its next $15 off $300 in VGC sale?? 😂

Anyone have an app/software you use to be notified if your flight aircraft or seats have changed? I cannot tell you how many times this has happened to our family over the years and there never seems to be any notification. Our Air France business class seats are all janky now. If a family is flying together with kids, you'd think that would be their priority when they shuffle things.

Sorry to whine.

No recommendations- but great score! Congratulations!

I'm considering booking Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa (Miramar Beach, FL) for April break with DH, DD14, DS13 and DS10. I've never been to that part of Florida.
Any feedback on the hotel? Other things to do in the area? How are the beaches?
Thanks!

Have a Delta question.

I had Delta Gold, downgraded to the regular Blue No Fee Card a few years ago. Got an offer to upgrade to Gold again, 40k miles for like $2000 spend, no fee for first year and did that. I booked a flight with Miles for June travel. Delta changed me 1st leg of return trip that made it impossible to make connecting flight. I just called (after an hour+ on chat last night to no avail) to move our 2nd leg to a later time that worked. ANYWAY, in reviewing my itinerary just now, it's showing me as Silver Medallion.....but I'm not. I haven't traveled on Delta since pre-covid and barely used either Amex (outside of the MSR). My husband's fare was booked with cash + Venture X travel credit (he's not showing Silver).

I'm confused. I did notice that the phone rep said something about being eligible to upgrade to first class, but I didn't even think about it. Is this some weird 1 time status?

Anyone have this happen?

TripIt Pro (paid version) does it. But I've only used the free version to organize my plans. Your post made me think maybe I should try out CheckMyTrip, that one would be free.

Has anyone received the referral bonus for Venture X? If so, how long did it take after the person you referred was approved?

I have never had that happen! Crazy.

I had one, but I assume they were not a first time Cap One cardholder, because I have yet to see anything, and it was done on day one.

I have never had that happen! Crazy.

I thought when he said "eligible to upgrade" he was trying to have me purchase an upgrade. But as soon as I went into our trip after the call, I noticed that the outbound leg had "complimentary upgrades requested" which was new. I had to reselect my seats for the return (changed) legs and was able to request upgrades for those too. And then I noticed the Silver Medallion listed next to my Sky Miles #. Very odd.

I am looking for advice. We currently have Disney Chase card and we are thinking about switching to another card. Disney dollars are just not cutting it anymore. We are deciding between these two. We are looking to use our points for travel.. Mostly airfare miles and hotels. We currently pay our credit cards off at the end of the month and we have a yearly use of about 50-75K a year. My husband travels for work so most of our points are gained from that.

Capital One Venture X-It currently has a very good promotion. I know this has a very high annual fee but the freebies outweigh this. I just don't know how easy it is to use their travel company etc.

I have the Venture X and have had the CSP. They are both great cards. I’d looked at the transfer partners for each, and see which you value more. For me, I find the Chase travel partners much more user-friendly - Hyatt, Southwest and United in particular. Capital One also has good transfer partners, but IMO require a higher level of sophistication to use. As far as the Venture X travel portal for the travel credit, it’s super easy to use - just like booking on Expedia or any other online travel site.

I have found CSP travel partners are and we love all of those options. I can't find a good list of Venture X partners and I wish I could find them. Everything I read they are both great cards and it's hard for me decide which one is best for us. We are leaning towards the Chase card just because we are more familiar since we currently have Chase. However the Venture X has a very good following too. LOL

If you want to use your points for domestic travel I would stick to Chase, as @iujen94 listed the Chase transfer partners are best for domestic travel. For Venture X, I would personally use the points for international airlines.
Don’t let the higher AF scare you, the benefits usually outweigh the fee.

Whew, you really do your homework! Good for you! As others have said, this is really a personal decision and they are both great cards. If you have the spend, you might consider both you and DH getting the CSP. You (P1) gets the card, then sends a support link to DH (P2) to open the card, which will earn and extra 20k points. You'd be looking at least 148k UR points that way, for $8k spend and $190 in AF.

There's also something called an MDD you can research here, which is getting both the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Preferred cards within two days. There are very specific steps to do that, so make sure to research it well here first.

You don't say what your 5/24 status is, so hopefully you have room for a couple more Chase cards.

I just started using TripIt recently and love it. Their paid version is $49/year. I think I might try Expert Flyer at $99/year since that can find award space.
Anyone else using Expert Flyer. I thought I saw a discount awhile back.

I really wish I could take credit for all of that research but I can't. I got this from a monkey miles website when comparing the two. The Venture card offer ends soon so I am hurrying the process because of that.

We did consider opening both of them. My husband carry the Venture and I will do the chase then find out which we like better.

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me. I'm currently 4/24 and need a MSR, I'm tired of just using my cards as actual cards lol and not toward a bonus. What I have gotten in the past 18 months are:

CSP
AMEX Gold
Chase United
Chase IHG

I have hit all those bonuses and I'm not sure what I want to get into next. I'm really hesitant to go for a Business card because a. I don't want to be denied, and b. the high MSR scares me a bit. I keep getting Amex offers, but I know that'll put me at 5/24. Is there another non-biz Chase card I should look at?

Thanks!

This article has a great summary of Cap One’s transfer partners - https://frequentmiler.com/capital-one-rewards-miles-complete-guide/#Transfer_Capital_One_Miles. Scroll down to “Transfer Capital One Miles.”

I already have a booking I'm trying to change vs cancel and rebook. What twitter did you use?

A cat 2 airport hotel with a min? Shouldn't it say somewhere they have one? That just seems weird to me.
ahh not at a cat 2 yeah that does seem weird, I've seen it at the "aspirational properties"
