EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival 2022 Signs and Decorations Installed Before Opening Day​

Tomorrow, July 14, 2022, kicks off EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival set to run through November 19, 2022. While we have been seeing new menu’s for the event, we are also watching new signs and displays appear at EPCOT.

MrsAp, we need some good luck dancing for Magic Key Renewal news over at Disneyland I bought my pass last August (day 1) and none of us can make park reservations past the last day of our pass, which makes sense. But it also means if they do allow renewals, people might not be able to get a park reservation for a month or two since they disappear pretty quickly over here. I just want keep going regularly

I think it's just rare for SSR to sell out. All the other resorts sell out almost every single day.

SSR is one of the DVC resorts they use the most for guests exchanging into WDW DVC via RCI and Interval International. DVC owners deposit points into RCI/II in order to exchange into a different timeshare system, so DVC has to let owners in those other systems exchange into DVC. But even if a DVC owner deposits points from GF or Poly or BLT, SSR and OKW are the DVC resorts most often available to those outside TS owners.

Odyssey Events Pavilion Restored, Imagineering ‘EPCOT Experience’ Completely Removed

Ahead of its use as an indoor Global Marketplace for the 2022 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, we got a sneak peek inside the Odyssey events pavilion as crews restored the space to a general seating area. It’s tough to make out, but all traces of Walt Disney Imagineering’s EPCOT Experience preview center have been completely removed. Instead, the space appears to be completely restored to one large room with tables and chairs. Here’s a peek.

Center Street Refurbishment Expands at Magic Kingdom

The brick paver refurbishment of Center Street at Magic Kingdom has expanded to include nearly the full length of the street. We made it out to Magic Kingdom this morning to take a look at the latest progress, which includes new bricks at the back of the site. Here’s a look!

Lighting, Ventilation Added to Walt Disney World Railroad Tunnel Under TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom

As you can see in our photos below, Disney has recently added lightning and what appears to be some ventilation to the tunnel that will allow the train to run beneath the TRON Lightcycle Run attraction and related walkways. Here’s a look!

In this first wide photo, we can see the tunnel in the middle right of the photo and work taking place to connect the tunnel to the nearby existing railroad track.

A closer look at the tunnel itself reveals the work taking place inside the tunnel.

Windows are also part of the design.

Funny but I just drove past this yesterday and thought to myself, "there's a sign that should have been removed years ago". The attraction is certainly a major draw, but perhaps something more contemporary like Toy Story Land, or perhaps Galaxy's Edge could have replaced it by now.

Replying to my own comment here - I drove past that site today and there is already construction equipment there along with traffic cones. Looks like it will be going fast.

Cones and Bulldozer in Place Near Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Billboard as Demolition Prep Begins​

With the iconic billboard for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror on World Drive set to be imminently removed, prep work is already underway for the structure’s demolition.

On both sides of the median along World Drive, orange cones were placed today to ensure people don’t pull over on to the grass strip.

Construction Progress Accelerates on New Disney Vacation Club Tower at Disneyland Hotel​

Although construction on the new Disney Vacation Club wing of the Disneyland Hotel only went vertical in March, Disney (for once) is wasting no time on getting the new wing up in the sky and ready for guests! There’s been quite a bit of progress since our last visit, so let’s check in!

While previously the tower was only on its second floor, we now find that the tower has hit floor seven in some parts, floor six in others.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Scene Reset Caught at Disney’s Hollywood Studios​

In a very rare moment caught on camera, a few lucky riders aboard Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway got to see a special scene reset in the penultimate factory scene, which we found on TikTok.

I don’t like to harp on things but one of the issues I hammer on all these ride shutdown discussions is almost all theories of safety in workplace say small maintenance issues predict safety incidents. With many of these rides having unexpected downtime a lot of discussion seems to focus on lack of quality experience which is valid but even more important is it also builds to things that jeopardize guest safety and well-being. I feel like with rides sinking in Disney world and catching on fire in Disney land it’s only a matter of time before a guest is injured due to lack of maintenance on these attractions. The current state of some of these rides is completely unacceptable and it’s unfathomable to me leadership team is allowing this stuff to happen on such a regular basis completely oblivious to the risk of eventually having guest inured or worse directly attributed to cost cutting of basic maintenance.

That’s my concern or even a major malfunction that causes some sort of fatal accident like on roller coaster.

We go there a lot b/c the renovations are so nice & it’s less points/money than the others.

Disney Security Dogs Receive 50th Anniversary Treats at Walt Disney World Resort​

Pixie Patrol, a team of Cast Members dedicated to keeping the magic everlasting at Disney, stopped by to make Disney’s security dogs say “I just met you, and I love you!” In honor of The World’s Most Magical Celebration, even four legged friends are getting some extra benefits to celebrate.

The good boys (or girls!) received a tennis ball and treat.

Their handlers also received beach towels, tote bags, blankets, and reusable silverware.

Olaf’s Royal Picnic Upcharge Experience Cancelled for Maiden Voyage of Disney Wish​

The Disney Wish has faced several bumps in its journey to maiden voyage, between construction delays related to the pandemic, test cruises being cancelled, and even now some things still not ready for guests on the delayed maiden voyage. Now guests who booked spaces for Olaf’s Royal Picnic aboard the Disney Wish are receiving emails that their experience has been cancelled.

Reports are coming in on social media that guests who booked their children for this special experience are receiving cancellation emails and refunds. The maiden voyage of the Disney Wish has already seen one major offering cancelled —”Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular.”

Check Out the Newest Construction Updates at Disney’s Boardwalk​

There is plenty of yellow tape blocking off certain areas from guests.

The railings are getting a fresh coat of paint!

Here is some cleverly placed foliage to block some of the construction from guest views.

It appears that work is being done on ESPN Club as they get ready for the newest location, Cake Bake!

The excitement is definitely building for the new location.

The classic Disney “pardon our appearance “signs are conveniently placed letting guests know that the area is being refurbished.
There is still plenty of fun to experience.

This makes me so happy! I was married at that tree in March. It’s so beautiful.
