I don't remember if we entered the park in 2022, but we definitely did in 2020.

Well, some of you did. I was super excited for that stupid parking lot in 2022 since I was just behind the cutoff in 2020. Not so psyched about more time there, though.

It also appears that mile 5 of the half is at the hub in MK instead of at the entrance/RR tunnel. I might have a chance for a dark-er sky pic this year (especially if I don't stop for a pic at the teacups!)

If you look in your MDE at pictures near Everest, you should be able to get a pretty close time as to when you reached the Everest area. For example, I have a picture taken at 8:25 when I was running under the prayer flags. This was shortly after the picture stop with Carl and Dug. The time that you reach this spot will depend upon how fast you're running, the number of characters you stop for pictures and the length of time for each line. I could be wrong, but I believe that the wait times are going to be longer than last year because you can now hug the characters again rather than standing in a designated spot.

So...here's a REALLY silly question. Where do I turn to go to Expedition Everest? I don't want to wander around looking for it. I want to go straight there!

It's not that silly. I've been there so many times over the course of the last 16 years that I can visualize it clearly. After that picture stop with Carl and Dug, you'll run into Asia under the prayer flags rounding a corner to the right. On your right side will be the amphitheater where Rivers of Light was located. Expedition Everest is about 1/4 mile (if that) on your left. Following Everest, you run right over the bridge taking you past the Finding Nemo show.

For those of you who are there for an extended period after the race, how long do you keep wearing your medals? Only that day? For an entire week? Until your legs stop hurting?

We’ve stayed down there for a whole week after the marathon on a couple of occasions. I’ve had no problem being obnoxious enough to wear my medal until late in the week. I’ve even had people ask me where they could buy one, probably because we were only the people they saw and had no idea about the previous weekend’s event.

Until 2022 I had never done Dopey. So my strategy was to get to WDW on Friday or Saturday and then do all the parks and celebration AFTER my marathon so I didn’t have to worry about staying out late, eating fun crap, or wasting my legs walking 10+ miles per day. . But it’s actually more fun being down there before the weekend with more runners.

I could be wrong, but I think the course comes up through the Fantasmic area and comes out by the Beauty/Beast stage so won't go directly by ToT. I'm guessing that's by design to keep people from even trying.

Are you referencing this year's map or last year's course? Either way, I believe that it's the same route where you run past the outskirts of Fantasmic, come up the little incline and go past ToT and then onto Sunset Boulevard.

Interesting... I was going by the inset map which has the path on the other side of the green/tree belt.
