I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

Thanks…I went into our account and it was probably disabled for years…I generated the pin so we shall see

Same here. I noticed my pin said that it was good until 10/23/2023, so I'm thinking this probably won't work for the discount. I think the PIN is just to use if I'm planning to port the number and they are giving the code 30 days worth of use before it's not longer valid. Hope that's wrong.

I actually just started to consider using Mint Mobile (or something similar), but you have to have an unlocked phone to use that service (at least from what I could tell). We have verizon phones, so that would be a (large) additional cost to start saving money. So I'll table that for now.

About 2 weeks ago I got another INK - referred from DH. His account still does not show the 40,000 Referral points even pending. Is this normal for them now? Just wondering if it is too soon to SM them about this?

Looking ahead to 2025. Have 2 cruises booked for 2024. Thinking about going back to Europe. Did a European Cruise in May to Italy, Greece and Turkey. The places were great (wasn't impressed with the cruise ship -so glad this was based on itinerary).

Possibly thinking Germany, Austria, Prague - something like that. Been looking at River Cruises, so that is an option. Or booking a Tour where they book all hotels/ transportation etc - or if I am feeling brave, trying to figure out something on our own. Wouldn't book until 2024 sometime as want to see where DS and DD are workwise and if it is possible for them to get off of work to join us.

So, starting to look at all the different Airline options. Last time we flew United and we all had opened Biz Cards (was easy to meet SUB with tuition but that is done now). Trying to figure out the Partner Airline thing - that kind of confuses me. I have a Virgin Atlantic Account and just made an account for Flying Blue/KLM - are there other ones I should make accounts with ?

Tried looking at flights in general for May/June and they are crazy right now (as stated by others here). Just not even sure what to look at...

Right now- I have the following between DH and I

MR's - 560,000
UR's - 800,000
IHG - 485,000
Marriott - 191,000
Delta - 40,000
Cap One - 220,000

Any suggestions would be great. Airfare is going to be the big one. We don't need Biz Class - Economy is fine. But when I started looking it was like 70,000 to 130,000 points (one way). That is crazy!!

This isn't CC/points related, but just a warning for any Spectrum customers that are considering changing service providers. Spectrum does not pro-rate your month of service if you cancel midmonth. And not only do they not pro-rate the bill, they STILL cut off the service when you cancel. We switched to HULU on 9/15 which is basically mid month for our billing cycle. They shut off the service (their streaming TV), but they still billed us for the service until 10/3 (end of our billing cycle). So, unlike a subscription service (like Patreon or other apps) that give you the rest of your paid service, Spectrum stops the service and STILL bills you. There's something fundamentally wrong with paying for a service you aren't getting, but I suppose there is no consumer law against it. I laughed when they said it was in the fine print of my statement. I'm on autopay, so yeah, I'm not looking at the fine print on a statement.

This happened to me in January. Annoying. DH and I go back and forth each year on who has the spectrum account so that we get the new customer rate ($50 per month in my area), which increases after a year. So at least we're getting the lowest rate possible that way. But by next year we're hoping Lumos will be done installing fiber in our area and we'll switch to them and get improved service, even if it's more expensive.

I checked my flight to MCO in November and got almost 5k back in pts (2 people). We still haven't booked our return because the cash prices on JB were so low (and times better) so we were kinda wait and see. Checked SW via pts just now and it was not discounted...interesting. We're flying down direct from RDU for < 3k pts each. The direct return is 13k.
Saved on one flight, the only one that was on a weekday and not around a holiday. So maybe that's all that's really on sale.

So FINALLY we have a resolution with Air Canada. We have had a WEEK of shifting points, rebooking plans etc. After AA changed our flight for November a THIRD time we finally cancelled that route and rebooked, but we had to switch airports. That caused us to have to rebook our return with BA (who was lovely about it and we rebooked an AS reward flight).

Air Canada took over 3 days for points to post for my husband and he was able to book our first leg for next year. My points (just my test 1000 thankfully) took over a week. My cap1 test of 1000 were instant. Must be an Amex to AirCanada issue.

For our return for next year I think we are flying back on Jetblue because unfortunately aircanada didn't open the flight I was looking for on the day we needed (its open only random days it seems).

Also this is why I like having different point pools- I was able to check BA, AC, Jetblue, and AS to find something to work.

British Airways will let you look for American Airlines flights and Alaska Airlines flights.

AirCanada will let you look for United flights.

The SW sale didn‘t do anything for my Sunday flight to MCO in November (currently $69), but my flight back on Thursday went from $74 to $42

Yes normal….The support points usually post on Tuesday nights so you may see them tomorrow, if not next week probably

Ds tells us every single day that “we should go back to Germany” 🥹 It’s funny because it was actually kind of a rough trip since traveling that far with a preschooler was new to all of us. It makes it so worth it to hear him talk about all of the things we did that he loved and somehow he’s forgotten the days that were hard.
Our first trip to WDW was with my sister and her family and was a disaster in so many ways. DS and my nieces/nephew remember it was awesome. Apparently they forgot all the crying and fighting. 🤣

Haha it’s funny how they can forget it all. We had a lot of tense moments on the trip, most of them tantrum related 😆, but he doesn’t remember any of that I guess. We just went on a bike ride and he told me again that we need to go to Germany. I said we don’t have any plans to go back right now and he said “why don’t we?”. Hopefully he feels the same about Japan lol

Isn't funny that some just remember the good times and none of the bad? Which is a good thing I suppose, if the hard times were just as fresh in your mind, you'd never go anywhere or do anything.

Anyone having issues with SW site? I was able to modify my MCO trip an hour or so ago, but now I realized a return flight from Vegas in Dec is also a great point value (we were vacillating on what itinerary/carrier we wanted) and it asked me to log in again and now it just keeps saying it can't currently process my request (login).

Since everyone is so smart here, maybe I'll throw this out, off topic. We have AT&T for cell phones and get terrible phone call reception at our house. Is there anything that can be done about it? Is there a way to boost the signal or something? We have iphones...
