Super Bowl - Chiefs or 49ers?

Hope the niners ,BUT,it sure looks like the league wants the chiefs there. The calls that are made and the ones not made,in this game and other chief games leading here, take a lot of the excitement and credibility away for me.It is a business, first and foremost.

I am going to cheer for the 49ers even though I do not like them. I am just hoping if the Chiefs lose, we will get a break from hearing about the Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce romance, hearing about Kelce's brother.... and all those commercials with Patrick Mahomes and Wilford Brimley.

(Yes, I know that is not actually Wilford Brimley)

I imagine the PR, marketing and revenue folks at Parks would love a TayTay/Kelsey day celebration parade, while security, logistics and operations quietly dread it. ;) At least we can all wear red for the Super Bowl to support either team, or simply support Taylor's red era, too! :duck:

*Put on my tin foil helmet* The lack of calls (penalties) at certain times, in both games, was interesting compared to the rest of the season. It was more notable in the AFC game holding calls late in the game, when there was egregious holds that allowed significant yardage/production earlier. Of course, I know the adage, "there's always a hold somewhere." But when ya appear to selectively start multiple penalties at critical points of the game, I'll give a little referee side-eye. *Puts away tin foil helmet*

To the Detroit Lions Fans: The Lions did a great job, considering the grind it took to get to the NFC championship- not just this season but building the team success in past seasons. The wildcat play in the early half showed they were going to be daring and hungry for the win. It was unfortunate those daring play action passes didn't convert to gained yardage in the second half, but fundamentals can and should improve next season. I would be proud of the job the Lions did if I was a fan, and I say that as a lifelong New Orleanian that saw the Saints go from The Aint's, complete with wearing paper bags hats, to Super Bowl champions. I see improvement in the Lions and a solid challenge for opposing teams next year. There's lots of good stuff there. So hugs to all y'all, I know the next few weeks can be tough, but when you're ready I hope you'll celebrate with me next season. I'll be expecting and looking forward to a solid Lions season! Go Lions! :cutie:

'9ers. Firstly, I'm originally from the SF Bay Area, so they're my hometown team. Secondly, I'm sick about Taylor/Travis,

Further proof that the NFL is fixed? ;)

On an air travel site I follow on FB, the author was discussing how Taylor Swift could perform her concert in Tokyo on Saturday and still make it to the Super Bowl on Sunday.

The author stated as fact the SB would feature San Francisco and Kansas City.

The thing is, this article was posted BEFORE the end of the Chiefs-Ravens game and before the 49ers-Lions game even started.

Obviously he had a copy of the NFL’s script. ;)

SIGH. really really wanted the Lions to take it all. So at this point personally team wise I really don't care and might not even be watching. One team is getting old and other I will not support.

I will ALWAYS cheer AGAINST Kyle Shanahan so I guess I'm on the Chiefs side. And I enjoy watching the Chiefs - I really like their coach - and I suppose I started cheering them on to bust Patriots up, but now I don't want another team to become the next Patriots.

And regarding the Taylor thing .... def not a swiftie, don't really enjoy her "singing" and performing but totally respect her song writing turned into mega machine ... yet she is grounded, generous and a huge positive influence on the young fans (unlike many of her trashy predecessors and peers). As far as her impact on football - that is completely the fault of the media, the NFL who are using her, the viewers letting it get to them and not at all on her. I loved how on the field when the brothers met up, she moved way out of camera range, behind others to not be part of that moment. Am sure we wouldn't have seen that from "some other" significant others who are always trying to get in the limelight. If someone is letting Taylor bother them, that is a them problem.

For those who can't stop watching her with disdain, maybe you'll get lucky at the Super Bowl. She has a concert the night before in Tokyo who is way ahead of us time wise. It might be impossible for her to get back here for the Super Bowl. When I saw her on the field for this ... I thought that was kinda strange but maybe it was because she won't be here for the Super Bowl. Either way "let it go" cause its none of our business.

There has already been reports saying that she could actually make it to Las Vegas in time for kickoff. It's not like she's waiting at a gate for a plane or anything ;)

I agree she will do everything she can to get there on time, but her concerts and her fans are just as important to her career - which is a much bigger career, making much bigger impacts to the world around her than his does.

I perhaps was giving hope to those who seem to have gotten themselves all worked up that a famous person is dating a football player, making for a cute couple that OTHERS are using for PR. It is only as big as deal as one makes it.

ITA - keep in mind, the speculation about whether or not she'll fly back from Toyko is all media-driven, not anything coming from Taylor's people.
