First time to Orlando…

Yep, it's already on my list multiple times, I have 5 nights at BRV. :)
And don't forget to watch the Electrical Water Parade at night, it's a classic, from opening. It's not terribly fancy, but very nostalgic and old Disney! The FD can tell you what time it passes the WL. Ask for an odd numbered room at BRV, those face the lake. If you are in a studio, try to avoid 4533, it's the only room at BRV without a balcony.

Ok, 2 days into my trip and only really been in the AK area, but so far I can’t believe how impressive the transportation system is!!! lol

Currently (as I type this), on a “world tour” bus from AK to MK, then Monorail to Epcot, then bus back to AKV in time for the game. :)

2nd resort update, kinda just taking notes for myself. lol

Going from AKV to a brand new room at Boardwalk at first felt like a hospital room, and noisy, etc… but it’s growing on me.

Went blindly into Epcot last night so that started rough not knowing where to go or where I was, etc, but headed back for a day visit (Shiki-sai for lunch) with possibly hop to DHS later tonight.
DHS “day” tomorrow and hop to MK for EEH.

Also, if you can swing it, try out either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. Definitely something that doesn't exist in CA!

I don’t think I will be able to get over there, but I’m assuming it’s a water park on steroids?
I mean we have Water parks all over CA, but probably not to that caliber.

I can't wait to see what you think of BRV. So you decided not to keep your contract there after this trip??
It’s for sale, but I’m in no rush to sell it.
I’m sure I’ll love BRV, but I think it just makes more sense to own CCV or another spot with more years left on the contract.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Magic Kingdom since you're a Disneyland person! Even though I went to WDW a few times as a kid, as an adult, I am definitely a Disneylander. So for me, MK feels so weird to walk around. It's Bizarro-Disneyland and things aren't where they are supposed to be. 😆 I do love the wider walkways though! And, of course, the Peoplemover.

My first steps into MK will be tomorrow evening/night after doing DHS all day (I have to make up for anything I was planning on doing tonight at DHS, so it could be a long day)
PeopleMover is at the very top of my list!!! :)

Wanted to add some AK pics and info..
Savanna room view is awesome, but I was far from lobby so I get what people are complaining about, it is a long walk.
Also I did a couple of tours, one with Rhinos (no pics allowed), and one with Elephants which I got some really good ones.

Yes, very weird. lol
Almost got watery eyes when I saw Roy and Minnie, then Main Street and the castle… it was a good feeling for sure.
It was dark when I got here so I will have more thoughts tomorrow when I come back in the day, but I have to say Tomorrowland is amazing, I can’t believe what a steaming pile version we have in Anaheim. lol
Carousel of Progress was first, then PeopleMover… Amazing!!

Adventureland just doesn’t feel great, maybe it’ll feel better tomorrow, but for now it felt more like an amazingly themed outdoor mall. lol
The ground is too clean and smooth, the walls too taken care of, maybe since they have Animal Kingdom they don’t want to go all out in Adventureland?

BUT I will say that with Rockin Rollercoaster down for refurb, I definitely like DCA way better than DHS. Besides Brown Derby and Indiana Jones I’m not sure I even need to go back during this trip.

I still have 6 days left, so I’m sure I’ll have more. ;)

Oh yeah, DLR's Tomorrowland sucks so bad. Though I like their version of Buzz better than the one at WDW. And DLR's Space Mountain is 1000 times better too.

Adventureland was always so crowded every time we were over there so I feel like I didn't really get to take it all in and look around much.

Yeah, Hollywood Studios is my least favorite Disney park that I've been to. They have some rides I really like....but it's all the rides I can go on back in Anaheim. Well, except for Slinky Dog, which I didn't get a chance to go on yet. HS reminds me of what DCA was before Cars Land was built. Back in the Orange Stinger/Maliboomer days. Ha!

Quick update, the honeymoon is over. lol

So switching from Boardwalk to Boulder Ridge. I left MK at about 3:30 taking the scenic route (monorail to BLT then boat to WL) and checking out contemporary/BLT on the way so I figured room would be ready by the time I got there or soon after… I got here about 4:30 or so, no notification on my phone that room was ready, but around 5:15pm I got a text that says “still preparing the room”. So I got a mickey bar & took a walking tour around, but after an hour I’m then basically sleeping in the lobby, so at around 6:45 I went up to front desk to see if there was a problem, and he said “hmm, that’s weird I wonder why it’s not showing ready yet” gets on the phone, makes a call, then gives me the very last room at the end of the hall on the parking lot side, it’s dark out right now, but I’m assuming those are the trash dumpsters out there.? lol

So it’s not the end of the world by any means and maybe it’s just luck of the draw, but it makes me wonder, did I piss someone off?
Since I am the last person to check-in the only available room is the worst one in the building? (thanks for the misleading text. lol)

Is there anything that I could have done different, besides been a squeakier wheel? (If I hadn’t got the text telling me they were still working on it, I’m sure I would have said something a lot sooner)
Anyway, not the best start, and of course I feel similar that now I like Boardwalk better. (change is always tough. lol)

Also, realizing 12 day trip isn’t needed to do everything. Thinking 9 is the magic number (2 travel days and 7 park days)

The room is great (inside), but I'm also somewhat fine with my BRV being up for sale already… maybe just a bit of sour grapes.
Tomorrow is a new day & I have 5 more here to turn it around, I’m thinking Geyser Point will help with that. :)

Yikes on the timing of getting in to your room. I once got a $100 credit to our account for them getting us in at 4.30pm and I didn’t even complain just made a light comment about how that’s later than usual and the CM at RIV apologized for the delay and said they were going to compensate us. It was really nice and I wasn’t expecting it. See if you can get something for how late they checked you in. Hopefully today will be a better one!

Maybe ask if you can do a room change? They could move you, but you might be out of a room until the afternoon again. Maybe if you explain that you didn't get a room until almost 7pm they can get you into a different room faster this time!
